Ada May Irvine
Ada May Irvine passed away peacefully at Pioneer Village, on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at the age of 79 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Noble and Irene; brother Noble (N.J.), brother-in-law Carl. Ada is survived by her sisters, Ethel Dietz of Lumsden, Reva (Oscar) Emison of Texas; many nieces, nephews and extended family, as well as numerous friends, especially Mickey Lewis who was always there for her. Ada was a very special person who will be remembered fondly by all who knew her, for her positive attitude, valiant spirit and great sense of humor. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the staff of 2 West, who were like family over her 27 years as a resident of Pioneer Village. At Ada's request there will be no service. Cremation will take place with interment at a later date in Yellow Grass cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Ada's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. Andrew Raymond
Andrew Orville Raymond found peace on March 16, 2007 at the young age of 14. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Irene and Ivan Raymond, one uncle, Dick Holland and his nana, June Whewell. Andrew will be lovingly remembered by his family: his dad, Dale Raymond, his mom, Dawn Raymond, two sisters, Stacy Raymond and Kristen Raymond (Lyle Hall) and one niece, Josie May Hall; grandparents, Orville and Malvina Trumpour; his great grandmother, Mini Hanke, his papa, Frank Whewell; aunts and uncles: Twyla (Lloyd) Raccine, Desiree (Scott) Rainey, Vada Holland, Derrell Raymond, Elaine (Elmer) Erixon, Bonnie (Larry) Bergdahl, and their families; his niece, Josie Hall; his 'brother' Tony Payton, extended family, Tammey, Amanda and Chris Hall; as well as numerous great aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Andrew was born on October 19, 1992 in Weyburn. He attended Haig School and was currently in Grade 8 at Weyburn Junior High School. He enjoyed bowling, pool, fishing, camping, swimming and spending time with his friends to whom he was always known as 'Drew'. He loved being outdoors and was looking forward to going camping and hunting with his dad this fall. He could always be counted on to help out with Relay for Life and the Cancer Jamboree, where in 2004 he participated in the 'Cops for Cancer' head shave. Drew loved to go to Red Wing hockey games from when he was very young, and enjoyed going to Saskatchewan Roughrider games with his dad. Drew loved animals, but was especially close to his cat "Pudge". One of Andrew's favorite things to do with his sisters was to torment them, and he was pretty good at it. But when all was said and done they all knew how much they cared and loved each other. Andrew was a quiet young man who liked to read, listen to music and play his PS2. His favorite card game was 'Texas Hold Em' and his favorite food was 'McDonalds'. After graduation, he wanted to join the Canadian Armed Forces to serve his country. He will be missed deeply but never forgotten by everyone he touched. A memorial service was held Thursday, March 22, at 2:00 p.m. from Grace United Church, Weyburn, with Rev. Hazel Arbon and Rev. John Ferrier officiating. Interment followed in Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn. Colin Bruce Beale
Colin Bruce Beale late of Weyburn passed away on February 22, 2007 at the age of 51 years. He was predeceased by his father James Beale; his sister Colleen Joy; step-father Ray Hall; special grandparents, Albert and Lida Ruller. Colin is survived by his loving partner, Marleen Holtz, Weyburn and her children: Janna Holtz (Graeme McBeth) of Weyburn, Jordan Holtz, Moose Jaw; his children: Sara (Chad) Sletten, Blackfalds, AB and their sons, Brayden, Brett and Zack, Paul Beale, Calgary, AB, Daniel Beale, Blackfalds, AB, Calin Beale, Weyburn and their mother Janet Beale, Weyburn; his mother Rhoda Hall, Edmonton, AB; his two brothers: Calvin (Maureen) Beale, Burnaby, BC, Jim (Lori) Beale, Regina; his aunt Marge Mailer, Stoney Plain, AB as well as several nieces and nephews. Colin Bruce Beale was born June 2, 1955, in Calgary, AB, to Rhoda and Jim Beale. At the age of five, he moved to Weyburn with his mother and two brothers, where they moved in with Grandpa and Grandma Ruller. He attended Elgin School, Weyburn Junior High and Weyburn Comprehensive School. Colin was very active in music, sports and drama throughout his school years. He was a lead singer in the choral groups and played several instruments. He excelled at all sports and still holds the record for shot-putt, something that all three of his sons tried to beat but were never able to. Summers were spent at music and hockey camps, and the cottage at Squaw Point where Colin and his brothers loved to fish with their grandpa. He was active in Cubs and the Legion band, along with hockey and baseball. After graduation in 1973, Colin worked in Weyburn for a few months and then headed to Alberta. He and Janet lived in Camrose the first year of their marriage, then moved back to Weyburn where he sold houses for Frontier Homes. Their first child, Sara, was born in 1976. In 1978 they moved to Didsbury, AB, where Colin began his electrical career and their first son Paul was born. In 1983 Colin moved his family back to Weyburn and started his electrical company. During this time his sons Daniel and Calin were born. In1986 Colin starting working as an electrician, at Canada Wire (now Nexans). He was employed there until his passing and made many friends there over the years. He still loved to play hockey, now with the Old-Timers. He was very active in the church using his musical skills, also singing the anthem at hockey games and playing the drums in local bands. It was at church that Colin met Marleen, who often accompanied him on the piano when he performed as a soloist. In 1992 they began their life together, with Janna and Jordan, and new puppy Misty. Their canine family grew with the birth of Sydney, and the adoption of little "Tommy Douglas", the beagle who held a special place in Colin's heart. Colin loved to spend time with his children, and he and Marleen made many trips to Alberta to visit with family. In his spare time, Colin loved to play golf, a passion that he shared with his children. In 1999, he became a grandpa with the birth of Brayden, followed by Brett in 2001 and Zack in 2004. Colin and Marleen shared 15 years of special memories, with much laughter and joy in each other's company. They had many plans for the future, but were happy just to be together. They never took each other for granted, and there was nothing Colin wouldn't do for his "Marly". They shared a special bond that will never be broken. Colin's thoughtful ways and generous nature shone through in everything he did. His optimistic outlook and easygoing manner enabled him to see the beauty and potential in each new day. His gentle spirit will be sadly missed. A memorial service for Colin will be held on Saturday, April 7, at 11:00 a.m. from Zion Lutheran Church, Weyburn, with Rev. Daniel Krauss and Pastor Martin Olson, officiating. The honorary pallbearers will be Brian Rasmussen, Alan Hamann, Michael Hamann, Doug Machan, Garry Windecker and Marvin Windecker. Henry Nicholas Wilgenbusch
Henry Nicholas Wilgenbusch of Weyburn, a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 23, 2007, at the age of 85 years. Henry was born on February 27, 1922 at the home farm near Halbrite. He attended Sunnyside School which was newly built in 1916. After serving with the army from 1942 until his discharge in 1945, Henry married Kay Makelki on July 26, 1947. They farmed at the homestead southwest of Halbrite, raising grain and cattle. In 1980, they moved to Dieppe Drive in Weyburn. Henry was involved in the Knights of Columbus activities for 58 years, as well as the local school board and church. They were blessed with three daughters and two sons. Henry was predeceased by his eldest daughter, Rita Casey formerly of Saskatoon, his wife, Katherine Wilgenbusch (Makelki), his parents: John and Rose Wilgenbusch and his six sisters and two brothers. Henry is survived by his son-in-law, Robin (Robin Smith) Casey of Cochrane, AB, his children Alan of Winnipeg, MB, and Brent (Jacine) of Saskatoon, and their son, Carter; and four children: Rosella (James) McGrane of Regina, their children Allyson (Shane Birley) of Vancouver, BC, David (Caroline Vigneault) of Ottawa, ON, and Jaime of Regina; John (Brenda) Wilgenbusch of Halbrite District, and their children Colin of Halbrite District, Conrad (Erica) of Saskatoon, and Craig of Halbrite District; Daniel (Roberta) Wilgenbusch of Unity, their children Danielle (Shaun Branvold) of Weyburn, Cody (Tiffany Holmgren) of Wilkie, and Chelsea of Unity; Marilyn (David) Elliott of Regina, and their children Victoria and Kristopher, both of Regina, special friend, Barbara Kot, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Henry will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Prayers were held on Tuesday, March 27, at Fletcher Funeral Chapel, Weyburn, at 8:00 p.m. Henry's funeral service was held Wednesday, March 28, at 10:30 p.m. a.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn, with Father G. Bauche, Celebrant. The active pallbearers were his grandsons and the honorary pallbearers were his granddaughters and great grandson. The Knights of Columbus formed an Honor Guard and The Royal Canadian Legion will held a Last Post Service. Interment followed at Halbrite Cemetery. Edward Everard Green
On Monday, March 26, 2007, Edward Everard Green of Tribune, passed away at the Weyburn General Hospital at the age of 72 years. Predeceased by his parents, Roland and Helen Green; one grandson, Richard Klepachek; sisters, Florence Sullivan, Joyce Shand, Dorothy Ceroni; brother, Bill Green; brothers-in-law, Alfred Sullivan and Ron Ceroni. Ed will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Barbara Green of Tribune; sons: Ed (Bev) Green of Welland, ON, Kevin (Collette) Green of Edmonton, AB, Darren (Cecelia) Green of Edmonton, AB; daughters: Debra (Ian) Thompson of Edmonton, AB, Brenda (Wayne) Klepachek of Edmonton, AB, Jennifer (Merv) Hutt of Tribune; step-sons: Bill (Doreen) Delaney of Salt Spring Island, BC, Geoffrey Delaney of Ayles, TX; step-daughters: Cheryl (Lee) Hewitt of New Brook, AB; Barbara (David) Royce of LaPlace, LA, Dawn (Bob) Gravley of LaPlace, LA; sister-in-law, Hilda Green of Edmonton, AB; brother-in-law, Bob Schand of Niagara Falls, ON; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Ed was born on July 2, 1934 in St. Catharine's, Ontario. This is the place Ed grew up and in his youth he enjoyed hockey and sports along with go carts. Ed took courses in refrigeration and ended up with his refrigeration ticket #28 or #29, so that tells us how new this course was. He was then married to Rita York and they had six children, three boys and three girls, as they resided in Niagara Falls, ON. Ed then met his second wife, Barbara Irein and they moved to Edmonton, AB. Rita and five of the children decided then to move out to Edmonton also. The eldest son stayed back and resided at Niagara Falls, ON. Ed moved many times from the east coast all the way over to the west coast. He semi-retired in 1996, but just couldn't quit, so he continued to help out many businesses. He was still doing his first love, refrigeration. Ed also had many hobbies; to name a few: woodwork, gardening, golfing, fishing and just spending quality time with his family. At Ed's passing he resided in Tribune. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. Funeral service was held Friday, March 30, at 2:00 p.m. from St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Tribune, with Father Andrei Kachur officiating. A visitation was held Thursday, March 29, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Tribune. Interment will be at a later date in Victoria Lawn Cemetery, St. Catharine's, Ontario. John Frederick Armbruster
On Saturday, March 24, 2007, John Frederick Armbruster passed away at Crocus Plains Villa, Weyburn, at the age of 84 years. Predeceased by his mother and father, Annie and Fred Armbruster; brother-in-law, Bill Hickie; two brothers, Victor and Norman; his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Armbruster in 2005; mother-in-law, Harriet Gwilliam and father-in-law, Richard Gwilliam. John will be lovingly remembered by his children: Linda (Bernie) Johnston of Winnipeg, MB; Larry (Marlene) Armbruster of Broadview; Brenda (Nairn) Nielsen of Rockglen; Lana (Reg) Zieg of Parry; Jackie (Myles LaChance) Jasan of Regina, and Marla (Gary) Lillejord of Lumsden; 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; brother, Phillip (Isabel) Armbruster of Rosburn, MB; sister, Aileen Alexander of Victoria, BC; sisters-in-law, Connie Armbruster of Grenfell, Irleen Armbruster of Grenfell; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. John Frederick Armbruster was born January 27, 1923 at Killaly. He was raised on the family farm near Oakshella. On February 3, 1945, John married Dorothy June Gwilliam and they farmed near Grenfell for about 13 years. After leaving the farm, John worked for the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool. He worked in many places as a grain buyer, first in Grenfell until 1959 when they moved to Scout Lake, then Dummer in 1973, Khalie around 1977 and finally to Weyburn in 1983. John was a very hard worker and physically active. He was involved in the Terry Fox Run, the Weyburn Bike Club and played hockey up to the age of 58. He always encouraged his children to be involved with sports as well. His heart was in farming and he loved helping out when he could on his son's farm at Broadview. John also helped fix cabins at the Children's Camp near Weyburn. He belonged to Grace United Church in Weyburn. John will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all he knew and loved. A memorial service was held Friday, March 30 at 2:00 p.m. from Fletcher Funeral Chapels, Weyburn, with Rev. Hazel Arbon officiating. The eulogy was given by Brenda Nielsen. LeRoy Alfred Erickson
1936-2007
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear beloved husband and father LeRoy (Lee) Erickson. Lee passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, March 28, 2007, after a short and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 71 years. Lee was born in Midale, on March 11, 1936. Following his graduation from Midale High School he married LaVonne and moved to Langley, BC. Lee returned to the Midale area in 1957 to pursue a career in the Oil and Gas Industry. He and his family moved to Calgary, AB in 1969. Lee retired after 35 years, returning to Midale often. Lee is survived by his wife LaVonne; their children Terry, Darryl (Loretta), Susan (Larry), Shari (Jim); eight grandchildren, Scott, Tara, Lindsay, David, Kathy, Melissa, Samantha and Joey; his mother Della; six sisters, Shirley (Ray), Doreen (Aub), Jean (Morley), Grace, Joyce and Myrna (Nigel); four brothers, Murray (Kathy), Ron (Jean), Neil (Wanda), Jim (Cindy); and numerous nieces and nephews. Lee was predeceased by an infant sister Christina and his father Alfred. Barbara Amelia Probe
On Monday, April 2, 2007 Barbara Amelia Probe passed away peacefully at the Weyburn General Hospital. Predeceased by her father and mother; her husband, Jacob in 1983; one son Donald in 2001; three brothers, Joseph, Peter and Max Honig; five sisters, Gizelda (Beth) Frymire, Catherine (Katie) Schultz , Mary Schultz, Eva Honig, and Margaret Leydon. Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters: Dorothy (Joe) Honovich, Round Rock, Texas, Isabel Bishop, Vernon, B.C., Jean (Don) Neddow, Calgary, AB; 20 grandchildren; 61 great grandchildren; 27 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Annie Hrdlicka, Weyburn, and Rose (Michael) Baresco, Medicine Hat, AB; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Barbara was born in McTaggart, on June 28, 1907. She was the fifth of 11 children. She married Jacob (Jake) Probe on November 9, 1926. They had four children. Barbara had a great love for flowers and gardening. Her flower gardens were admired and envied by all who passed her house. She enjoyed going to South Texas every year for the winter months, which she has done for the past fifty years. In Texas she enjoyed schuffleboard, bingo and other activities. Barbara was an active church member. She was a member of the St. Mary's Altar Society from 1930 with her membership to expire in 2007. The funeral service was held Wednesday, April 4 at 1:30 p.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church. Prayers were held on April 3 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Father Gerry Bauche, Celebrant. Interment followed at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn. Active pallbearers were; Donald Neddow, Robert Neddow, Bill Bishop, Errin Bishop, Wade Probe and Barry Probe. All friends and acquaintances of Barbara were considered to be honorary pallbearers.
