As he grew up he enjoyed horseback riding and pretending to be Roy Rogers or Red Ryder - movies he would watch on Saturday afternoons in Weyburn. Dad moved from horses to horsepower when he was 16 and loved various types of cars - especially the Ford models. Jack met Vangie in Weyburn. They were married on April 4, 1964. After living in Talmage and Francis, they moved to Weyburn in 1972 where they raised their three children. Dad was a "jack of all trades" holding several different jobs throughout his life. Jack was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Weyburn where he was baptized, confirmed, served on council and helped out during regular church services. Dad was a member of the Legion. As well, he was one of the founding shareholders of Price Rite Fuels. Dad had several hobbies. He enjoyed the outdoors including hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling and quading. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing his specialties - Johnny Cash songs at family gatherings. He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play hockey, baseball, soccer and basketball. He enjoyed attending rodeos and auction sales as well as visiting with neighbors and friends over a cup of coffee. Jack and his wife Vangie spent many years traveling throughout the States and Canada. Dad was a kind, gracious and genuine man who would help his family and friends whenever he was needed. He had incredible will and strength during his battle with cancer. He continued to visit with family and friends - even up until his passing. He was able to seed all of his land this spring with the help of his son and partner, Quienten even though he was extremely weakened by cancer. He was very proud of his three children for all the accomplishments they achieved in their lives.
