McDONALD – JERRY “EARTHQUAKE”, passed away peacefully the morning of July 4, 2004 at the age of 64. In spite of all his health problems, he was always “100% and perkin”. He leaves to mourn his sons Brian and Darren (Brenda); grandchildren Caitlin, Megan and Brayden; mother Mary McDonald; sister Darlene Kusch and family; close friends Donna and John Volk, CB buddies and new found friends at Embury Heights where he was so happy enjoying coffee and everyone’s company. HODGSON, FRANK – It is with great sadness the family of Frank Hodgson announce his passing on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at the age of 77. Frank is survived by two daughters, Leanne (Sid) and Penny; son, Garth; three grandchildren, Tamara (Jeff), Kristina (Derek) and Randy; and two great-grandchildren, Levi and Lexys. Frank is predeceased by his wife, Doris in 1995. A VISITATION will be held Monday at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East on Monday, July 26, 2004 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. HENRY – Arthur Vernon late of Regina, passed away on Monday, July 19, 2004 at the age of 77. Verne was predeceased by his mother, Sarah (Bradshaw), and his dad, Bob Henry, his sisters June Binnington and Ivy MacKay, his brothers-in-law, Bert Binnington, Gordon MacKay, and Norman Ewan, as well as his nephew, Malcolm MacKay. He was also predeceased by his half-sisters, Bessie Simonson, Pearl Thomas and half-brothers Glen Henry and Leland Henry. Verne is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gwen, a daughter Lorna (John) Glasser, and son Dale (Kathy) Henry. He will be sadly missed by his five grandsons, Robert (Tammy) Glasser, Neil Glasser, Grant Glasser, Jeff Henry and Scott Henry, and a very special great granddaughter, Hannah Glasser. He also leaves to mourn his brother Floyd (Teenie) Henry and sister Olive (Harold) Pratt, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Bernice and Monte Cottingham. Verne is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to sign a book of condolences at www.obituariestoday.com. At Verne’s request there will be no funeral. HUNTER – MARGARET WEIR (nee Scott) of Regina since 1954, previously of Cambuslang, Scotland passed away at home on Sunday, July 18, 2004, at the age of 92. Margaret was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dr. George Hunter (1948) who remained forever her “life partner”. She was also predeceased by her parents, Isabella and Andrew Scott; her sister J. Cherry Scott, of Edmonton whom she cared for in her home for 9 years following a stroke; her brother, William P. “Bill” Scott (Jean) of Calgary; and her wonderful aunt, Dora Mitchell of Regina. She is survived by her son, Dave (Linda) and daughter, Elizabeth Bechtel (Hans); her seven grandchildren, Shandra Hunter-Trottier (Yves), Tanya Hunter-Frizzell (Bevan), Kaeling Hunter, Jennifer Vetter (Peter), Terry Bechtel, Karin Staley (Travis) and Megan Bechtel (Peter Alford); and 5 great-grandchildren, Claire, Kristina, Matthew, Neil and Trenary. Our family would like to express our gratitude to Betty Tamlin and Muriel McKaig for their extraordinary friendship and support over so many years. We wish to thank all the nurses of Regina Health Regional Home Care who have cared for our mother, especially Theresa Simpson and Sherron Jordan, who will never be forgotten. Also the pharmacists at Hill Ave. Drugs for their advice and caring interest in making our mother’s last days comfortable. The kindness extended by friends and neighbors meant so much over the past several weeks. We greatly appreciate the exemplary care provided by Dr. Mickey Rostoker who joined the palliative care process during the final day, responsively giving of huge amounts of time, support and compassion. He demonstrated the highest professional standards for Margaret and for that the family is immensely grateful. Finally, Margaret and the entire family are in complete admiration of daughter, Elizabeth who left Toronto three months ago to provide 24-hour care which fulfilled Mum’s fervent desire to spend her last days in her home. As a young widow with two preschoolers, Margaret returned to university then immigrated to Canada. She will be remembered for her work in the community both professionally as a Speech Therapist at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre and after her retirement. A Life Member of Lakeview United Church Women, she was a very active member of the church. She received the 125th Anniversary of Confederation Commemorative Medal for her service to South Zone Seniors of which she was the chairperson. Many organizations were important to her among them are “The Council for Exceptional Children” and the Saskatchewan Government Superannuates Association Inc. that she served as membership coordinator. HARFORD - Casey Philip - It is with great sadness the family of Casey Harford announces his passing at the age of 35 years. Casey is survived by the three loves of his life-his beautiful daughters Megan, Rachel, and Cassie. Casey is also survived by his loving parents Phil and Joy of Nelson B.C.; four brothers: Frank (Janice), John (Debbie), Rory, and Kelly (Karen); two sisters Brigett, Barbie (Bob) and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves to mourn his passing his former wife Fawna. Casey was pre-deceased by his nephew Mathew.
Casey’s happiest times were refereeing soccer and hockey, spending time with his girls at his sanctuary at Rowan’s Ravine, and bringing joy to his family whenever he was with them. His proudest accomplishment was the six-year period he served as a member of the RCMP in Swift Current and Esterhazy, Saskatchewan.

CHASE – Douglas G. Chase passed away peacefully at home at the age of 70 years. Doug was predeceased by his parents Howard and Pauline, brother Paul, and brother-in-law Frank Christie. Doug is survived by Anne, his loving wife of 37 years, their two children: Debbie (Dean) Clark and their children Dryden and Trey; Sean and his son Austin; his close friends, Gerry and Audrey Williams, and many other family members and friends. Doug was born in Trenton, Ontario and began his 34 year career with CBC in Toronto, moving to Regina in 1977. In his retirement he tutored English as a second language and was a very active member of St Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church. Doug was a voracious reader, a huge movie buff and loved listening to music of all kinds. A PRAYER SERVICE will be held at St. Cecilia’s Church on Tuesday, June 15th at 7:00 P.M. A MEMORIAL MASS will be held at St. Cecilia’s Church at 5020 7th Ave, Regina, SK on Wednesday, June 16th at 11:30 A.M. A private interment will take place at a later date. ODISHAW, YVONNE MARIE January 11, 1919 March 31, 2004_ Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Marie Saive and Husband, Daniel, Yvonne is survived and mourned by her family: Marie (Wes) Dutnall Calling Lake AB, Ron (Pat) Odishaw Moncton NB, Alvin (Anne) Odishaw Saskatoon SK, Linda Odishaw Lloydminster SK, Bill (Susan) Odishaw Bulyea SK, 12 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. Yvonne was born in Treogan, Brittany, France. The family immigrated to Canada, settling at the the St. Hubert Mission the same year. After her Mom passed away, they moved to Denholm in 1931, where her Dad farmed. Yvonne met Dan and married on November 4, 1938. Soon followed: Marie, Ron, Alvin, Linda and Bill. Mom and Dad farmed until 1956, then moved to North Battleford. Yvonne looked after her family and worked at the Geriatric Hospital. When they moved to Regina in 1961, she worked at the Grey Nuns Hospital (Pasqua Hospital) in the CSR Dept until her retirement. Mom was a special lady with a willing hand and genuine smile. Her heart was pure, believing in the best of people. Her 85 years were filled with joy, sorrow and happiness. Being with family, close to nature and her cats were a comfort to her as she viewed each day with renewed strength and resolve. For all this and more, we shall forever love her in our hearts and souls. God bless you Mom. Love: Marie, Wes, Ron, Pat, Alvin, Anne, Linda, Bill, Susan and families.
