(March 13, 1922 - February 6, 2009)
DAYMAN – Lloyd Peter, late of Fillmore and formerly of Windthorst and Corning, Saskatchewan died after a long and courageous battle with cancer on February 6, 2009. Lloyd was born in the Windthorst area on March 13, 1922 and was raised on the family farm. As a young man Lloyd served his country as a radio operator in the army. He returned to Saskatchewan to farm and to marry the love of his life, Verna Stephens on July 10, 1950. They resided on a farm near Windthorst until 1956 when they moved to a farm east of Corning until their retirement to Windthorst in 1987. When Verna was in long term care, Lloyd rarely missed visiting her even when his health wasn’t good. When Lloyd wasn't in his shop enjoying the carpentry that he loved, he was fishing or going on one of his many vacations. Playing cards was a favorite pass time for him. He enjoyed a good laugh and was always eager to be in on a good joke. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. In recent years he had a lot of enjoyment with his bird "Sport". Lloyd will be sadly missed by his children: Brenda Dayman, Brian (Faith) Dayman, Donna (Jim) Johnston, Linda (Dave) Englot, Ron (Monica) Dayman and Joan (Ralph) Allan; sisters: Laura Silversides, Freda (Lloyd) Longman and Ruth Longman; brothers: Russel (Merle), Gordon (Christine) and Arnold; 18 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and all of his nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents Peter and Ella; brother George; brothers-in-law Clarence Silversides and Gordon (Browne) Longman. Lloyds' loving wife Verna died in September of 2007.
