EMERY, On Saturday, April 21, 2001, Mrs. Evelyn Viola Emery, of Regina, Saskatchewan, formerly of Assiniboia, Saskatchewan, passed away in Regina Pioneer Village at the age of 91 years. Predeceased by her parents; husband, Hugh in 1982; grandson, Lance Wikman in 1978 and two brothers, Willard and Wendell Hogland. Evelyn is survived by her loving family, son, Grant (Carole) of London, ON; daughter, Iris (Les) Wikman of Regina, SK; grandchildren, Todd (Alison) Emery, Troy Emery and Randi (Dean) Knaus, Mike and Chris Wikman; great grandchildren, Ashley and Hailey Emery and Cole and Mason Knaus. Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, April 24, 2001 at Regina Apostolic Church, 808 Assiniboine Avenue E., with Rev. Merv Switzer officiating. Interment of Evelyn's Cremated Remains will be held in the Assiniboia Cemetery at 3:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Evelyn's memory may be made to the Regina Apostolic Church, 808 Assiniboine Avenue E., Regina, SK, S4V 0K6. GOFORTH-Leslie Glen (Pimotew Kisiko), Suddenly on Friday, April 20, 2001, our son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, friend, leader and protector, left to the spirit world to be with the Creator at the age of 41 years. Predeceased by; Mooshum Ernest, Kookum Maggie Goforth, grandparents Leo and Florence Delorme, father-in-law Orville Peigan, aunties; Rena, Winnie, Maude and Kathy, uncles; Jimmy, Elliot, Clifford, Andy and Manny. He leaves to mourn his parents Glen and Joyce Goforth of Peepeekisis, his wife Monica of Regina, children; Langan (Robyn), Mandy (Johnnie), Cree (Natalie), Clay, Cole, and Justin all of Regina, brothers; Rod (Margaret) of Peepeekisis, Dave of Edmonton, sister; Glenda (Gord) Anderson of Regina, grandchildren; Kobe, Sienna, Billy, Creedance, and Danisha, Coocum Lena O'Watch, mother-in-law; Jean Peigan, special cousin; Wayne Goforth, special uncle; Senator Aubrey Goforth, special friend; Tracy George, best friend Wavell Starr, numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Les was a brilliant man who had a great love for his family, friends and people. He was the head man and spokesperson for the Goforth family. He was the provider and protector of his people. He was a spiritual man who lived by his traditional way. He was a born leader who had great knowledge of his Treaties and Indian law. Recently traditionally appointed chief of five families of the Peepeekisis Cree First Nation. During his short time on earth, Les first was a champion grass dancer in his younger years then grew to be a champion fancy dancer throughout North America. No words can express how diligently and humbly he served as Headman for the Peepeekisis First Nation. Funeral Service will be held in Peepeekisis Pesakastew School Gym on Tuesday, April 24, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Wayne Goforth and Elders Isadore Pellitier and Joe Roan officiating. Interment in Peepeekisis West Cemetery. Wake will be held in Pesakastew School Gym Monday evening. Traditional feast to follow the funeral service. Arrangements in care of the Tubman Cremation and Funeral Services, Fort Qu'Appelle (1-800-667-8962).

GRAHAM, On Sunday, April 8, 2001 Barry R. Graham, late of Regina, Sask., passed away at the age of 62 years. He was predeceased by his Dad Don, his Mom Helen and brother Lefty. Barry is survived by his daughter Wanda, Step-daughter Linda, sisters Darlene and Debbie (Angus), brother Ken (Linda) and special nephew Dirk as well as many other nieces and nephews. Cremation has been arranged. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 27, 2001 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK with Rev. Barry Bruce, officiating. The Interment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park. Arrangements are in the care of LEE FUNERAL HOME 757-8645.

George is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Sonia (Bzdell), his daughters Cindy (Rick) Engel, Arlene, Dianne of Saskatoon, Glenda (Rob) Jasper of Regina, Myra (Jon) Allen of Calgary. His grandchildren Cory & Chrissy Engel, Reed & Ramsey Jasper, Kiera Allen. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association. The funeral service will be held Monday, April 23rd at Wishart Ukrainian Catholic Church at 10 A.M. Prayers will be said Sunday, April 22nd at Narfason's Funeral Chapel, Wynyard at 7:30 P.M. BRENNAGH, (Krauss) Merle Lillian late of Victoria, BC passed into God's care at the age of 86 years, April 19, 2001, six months after being diagnosed with bone cancer. She was a great joy to many and warmly remembered and lovingly missed. Merle started her life in the Pitman, Rouleau and Regina area. After 25 years of dedicated service at the Regina General Hospital, she retired and moved to Victoria in 1994 and enjoyed her last years there. Merle is survived by her two sons, Dennis (Sally) of Victoria, Karl (Sylvia) of Greig Lake, Sask., sister Phyllis Brown of Victoria and several sisters-in-law. Grandchildren Brenda Krauss, Michelle (Neil and daughter Sabrina) Curtis, Dean (Sharon) Krauss, Gregg (Denise) Krauss, Lynn Krauss; great grandchildren Leisa, Lindsey, Landon Pincombe, Brendeana Curtis, Laura, Elizabeth and Andrew Krauss. A Memorial Service will be held at First Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1155 Fort Street, Victoria on Friday, April 27, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Regina with family. If you wish, contributions can be made to Victoria Hospice, 1900 Fort Street, Victoria, B.C. V8R 1J8. We would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all those who sent flowers, cards and prayers. A special thanks for the compassion and special care of the nurses, volunteers and staff at Hospice, Richmond Pavilion, Royal Jubilee. This was a great comfort to her and her family. BRODERICK, Jeannette Eveline, late of Saskatoon passed away on Thursday, April 19th, 2001 during her 95th year. Born December 13th, 1906 at Indian Head, Jeannette received her education at the University of Saskatchewan and Robertson's Business College. Her career was spent in dedicated service to health care in Saskatchewan, including the Anti-Tuberculosis League at Fort San, the MacNeill Clinic in Saskatoon and the Saskatchewan College of Physicians and Surgeons. Jeannette's interests were many and varied, including photography, natural history, bird watching, travel and a great love of the fine arts. Jeannette leaves to remember and celebrate her life her brother, Dick Broderick of Lethbridge; nephew, Barry (Ava) Broderick of Calgary; great nephew, Frank Broderick of Calgary and her godchildren/cousins, Margaret (Mike) Sieben of Saskatoon and John (Mary) Anderson of Yorkton and many other relatives and good friends. Predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Margaret Broderick, nephew, Bob Broderick and sister-in-law, Eva Broderick. The Memorial Service will be held at Knox United Church (838 Spadina Crescent East) on Tuesday, April 24th, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. conducted by Marjorie Keyser. Interment of Cremated Remains will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, Saskatoon, Sask. In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing may make memorial donations to the charity of their choice. Mary is survived by her two sons Mel (Brigitte), Del (Anne) and one daughter Rosemarie (Morris) Elynuik; eight grandchildren: Mel Jr. (Peggy), Ken (Dawn), Wayne, Jennifer, Jill (Trevor), Erin, Tyler and Blaire; great granddaughter, Tianna; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; brother, John (Marie) Rogoza; sister, Ella (Matt) Hoch; sisters-in-law, Dora Rogoz and Rose Chorney; brother-in-law, Nick Bilokreley. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2001 from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Ave. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 23, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel with Rev. Desmond G. Patton officiating. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. Arrangements in care of Speers Funeral Chapel and Crematorium Services.
