FRIES, On Tuesday, August 21, 2001 Charlie "Carl" George Fries, late of Regina, Sask., passed away at the age of 81 years. He was predeceased by his parents Josef and Katherine, one brother, two sisters and two brothers-in-law. Carl is survived by his wife Minnie; children Shirley (Richard) and Brenda (Bob); grandchildren Darcy, Tracy, Shannon and Allison; great-grandson Brandon; sisters Sabina, Emma, Elsie (Philip) and Kay (Irwin); brothers Alfred (Olga), Joe (Priscilla) and Ed as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2001 at 2:00 P.M. in Trinity Lutheran Church, 1909 Ottawa St., Regina, SK with Rev. H. Nachtigall, officiating. JACKSON, On Thursday, August 23, 2001 ANNIE ISABELLA JACKSON, late of Regina, SK passed away at the age of 90 years. Predeceased by her husband, Harry; son, Keith; grandson, Danny Jackson; and brother Art Heggie; Annie is survived by her four children: Joyce Weldon of Loveland, CO, Ruth Jurgenson of Trenton, ON, Bruce and Linda Jackson of Regina, SK and Beverly and Graham Simes of Fort Qu'Appelle, SK; daughter-in-law, Mary Jackson of McLean, SK; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Violet Magee of Regina, SK and Rose (John) Cove of Victoria, BC; 3 nieces; 2 nephews; and special niece, Jean Dreher of Regina, SK. Born in Regina and raised on the farm at Condie, Annie moved into the City in 1923 then back to the farm in 1927. She married Wm. Harry Jackson on December 26, 1934. They carried on farming following her father's death until 1964. Annie and Harry moved into the City when their children began school. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2001 at 11:00 AM in the Helmsing Funeral Chapel, 2210 College Ave., Regina, SK with Rev. Blair A. Dixon, officiating. Interment to follow in Regina Memorial Gardens. A Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, August 24, 2001 from 7:00 to 8:00 PM in the Chapel. MILLER, It is with great sadness that the family of Carolina (Lena) Miller announce her peaceful passing on Monday, August 20, 2001 at the Regina Lutheran Home. She was predeceased by her loving husband of sixty-one years, Henry in 1993 and an infant daughter in 1934. Lena was also predeceased by her brothers Rudolph Daum, John Daum, Philip Daum, Christian Lindenbach and Florian Lindenbach. She is survived by her son Ron (Liz) of Calgary; her granddaughters Adrienne and Johanna of Calgary; her sister, Amalie (Mollie) Posehn of Regina; her sisters-in-law, Clara Smith of Calgary, Hilda Miller of Edenwold and Victoria Miller of Regina and several hundred nephews and nieces. Lena was born on March 20, 1906 in Katarinendorf, Galicia, Austria and travelled to Canada with her mother and sister in 1921. Lena and Henry were married in Regina on June 5, 1932. Lena loved her family and friends and was loved in return. She will be missed greatly, as will her beautiful smile. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the Trinity Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. The family would like to thank the Regina Lutheran Home and staff for their dedicated care. CHRISTENSEN, Victoria Isla (nee McKay). On Friday, August 10th, 2001, Isla Christensen passed away at the Edmonton General Hospital. Isla was born in Eston, SK, on September 21, 1933. The family subsequently moved to Whitewood, SK, where Isla spent her formative years. She married Harry Wilfred "Chris" Christensen on June 25th, 1955 whose career took the family to various military postings in Canada and Europe, prior to the family settling in Sioux Lookout, ON. Isla's background in the banking industry provided the basis for her to operate a retail clothing business in Sioux Lookout and become a successful business woman. Her volunteer work in Sioux Lookout was extensive, with the majority of her time dedicated to the Chamber of Commerce, United Church Women, Rotary Club Sioux Lookout Chapter, and the Sioux Lookout General Hospital Board. Following the passing of Harry in 1991, Isla moved to Regina, SK where she continued with her dedication to volunteer work with such organizations as the Regina Rotary Club, Wesley United Church Women's Association, McKenzie Art Gallery and the Canadian Club. When illness beset her in 1999, Isla moved to St. Albert, AB where she lived with her daughter, Lori and family until the time of her passing. Isla is survived by one sister, Christina Stevenson of Regina, SK; her four children, Lori Motluk of St. Albert, AB; Debra Lomeda of Midland, ON; Daniel Christensen of Barrie, ON; Robert Christensen of Medicine Hat, AB and their families. A Memorial Service will be held for Isla at 1:30 P.M. on August 22, 2001 at the Wesley United Church, 3913 Hillsdale Street, Regina, SK. An Interment Service will follow at 2:00 P.M. on August 24th, 2001 at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Sioux Lookout, ON. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to the Rotary Foundation Endowment for World Understanding and Peace, c/o Rotary Club of Regina South, Travel Lodge Hotel, 4177 Albert Street, Regina, SK, S4S 3R6.

COLLARD, ELSIE CECILE (NEE YACKEL), passed away peacefully at her home in Dauphin, Man. on July 24, 2001 in her 86th year. Predeceased by her father Jacob, 1918, her mother Paulina, 1986, her son John (Jack), 1981, her grandson Bruce McDonald, 1976, brothers John, Carl and Manuel, sisters Lena and Martha. Elsie is survived by twin daughters Jean (Frank) Roberts, Jeanette (Dave) McDonald, 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Born January 20, 1916, she was united in marriage to John Collard in 1932 and resided in Melville until 1964. After attending Business College in Dauphin, she worked in Regina at E.H. Price Ltd until 1981 as well as with the Family Service Bureau on a regular part-time basis. Upon retirement, she resided in Melville for 11/2 years caring for her mother and handicapped brother. Elsie resided in Dauphin, Man. from 1983 until her passing. A graveside service and interment of cremated remains will take place on August 25, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. Melville Municipal Cemetery, Melville, Sask. DIXON, It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Timothy Dixon, late of Regina, on August 15, 2001. Tim was a gentle, sensitive, sentimental person and a gifted musician. His love for music was so great that those who knew him say that music was in his soul. GIRARD, On Friday, August 17, 2001, ROSE STELLA GIRARD passed away at home into the arms of the Lord at the age of 89 with her family at her side. Rose was predeceased by her husband, Clement, her parents Alfred and Delia Gingras, daughter Delores Earis, 2 brothers Albert and August Gingras, 2 sisters Bernadette Gingras and Leontine Gervais, and brother-in-law Wilfred Gervais.
