FUNK - Luella Elizabeth (Moulds) of Regina, Sk., aged 86 years, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 7, 2002 at the Regina Pioneer Village. Luella is survived by her loving family: daughters Donna (Don) Mountenay, Rose (Jack) Mountenay, Sylvia (Garry) Soon and her son Tracey (Janie) Funk; grand-and great-grandchildren Trent, Garry Gordon, Steven, Richelle, Travis and Alicia. Luella was predeceased by her husband Russel in 1990. A memorial gather for family and friends will take place on June 17, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. in the Willow Room of the Best Western Seven Oaks Hotel in Regina, Saskatchewan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or your choice of charity.

JOHNSON - It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Rena Johnson. Rena was born on the White Bear First Nations on October 14, 1924. Predeceased by her parents Roy and Agnes Favel; husband Victor Johnson Sr.; brothers Walter Raymond and David Favel; and sisters Dora Hoostie, Hila BigEagle, Dorothy Favel and Peggy WhiteBear. Rena is survived by her sons Victor Johnson Jr., George Johnson, Dale Johnson (Juliet) and daughters Darlene (Almer) Standing Ready, Donna McArthur, April (Joe) Johnson. She is also survived by special grandsons Skwqaggy, Robin, Donovan, Victor Johnson Jr III, Mathew Johnson and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. "The Creator called upon our mother, grandmother. It was her time to go home. The Love, Support and Guidance will be missed but not forgotten. Thank you, Creator, for the time we had with our blessing." A wake will be held at the White Bear Education Complex gymnasium on Sunday, June 16, 2002 at 5:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 17 at 2:00 pm. Funeral Arrangements by Orsted's Funeral Home, Carlyle, Saskatchewan.

KIRBY - JULIA ELLIOTT (nee Gilroy), passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 13, 2002 at the age of 92 years. Julia is predeceased by her husband Henry; two brothers Hank and Arnold (Millie), sister Grace Galey; brothers-in-law Alvin Kirby, Peter Graham and Albert Neiser and sisters-in-law Emma Graham and Gwen Kirby. Left to cherish her memory is her son Robert (Marie); granddaughter Tracey (Brent) Rathy and grandson Stuart; great-grandchildren Rocky and Jenna-Wade Rathy, Justin, Jason and Jessica Kirby, brothers-in-law Doug Galey and Wes Kirby; sisters-in-law Ethel Nieser and Muriel Kirby, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Julia enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was lovingly remembered by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as Tea Gramma, as she always served tea and homemade cookies. FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at the Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East on Tuesday, June 18, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Knouse, officiating. Interment at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. The courage, cheerfulness and consideration Ed displayed at the end of his long, rich life will surprise no-one who knew him. He is desperately missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Marge, his sons Josh and Stephen, their wives Vivian and Anita, and his daughter Lynn and her husband John. Granddaughters Tara, Helen, Cheryl and Elizabeth were a great comfort in his last days. Ed had a lifelong love of people, from his upbringing in Saskatchewan to his adventurous war service, through his lengthy and distinguished career seeking out and helping Veterans, to his retirement and extensive involvement with the Royal Canadian Air Force Escaping Society. Ed and his family can be visited at Tubman's, 403 Richmond Road, Ottawa, on Monday, June 17th, 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. A service in celebration of his life will be held there on Tuesday the 18th at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Perley-Rideau Veteran's Health Care Centre would pay tribute to the staff's unflagging care and friendship for Ed in his last year.

NAMETH - On Wednesday, June 12, 2002 Joseph Louis Nameth, late of Regina, Sask., passed away at the age of89 years, one month and nine days. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Barbara, sister Mary Zimmer and brothers Louis, Casper, Martin, John and George. Joseph will be lovingly remembered by his wife Annie of 60 1/2 years; his son Joseph (Donna) and his extended family; Art & Sheri Miller and daughters Heather and Ashley of Southey; Dwayne Moroz and Sharon Melnick and son Justin of Regina; Joe and Glenda Melnick and daughters Kaitlyn and Amanda of Fort Qu'Appelle; sisters Rose, Barbara, Annie, Helen, Lillian and Cecil; brother-in-law Frank Boha; brothers Frank, Andy and Bill and sisters-in-law Margaret, Helen and Liz as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunties and uncles. Joseph loved farming and he worked very hard at it but still found time for his sports. He played ball for many years and later he enjoyed watching ball games and hockey games. His favorite teams were the Detroit Red Wings and the New York Yankees. He also loved to play pool and have a good card game. He totally enjoyed playing his fiddle, accordion and mouth organ. He really loved good, vigorous conversation. He also loved to travel and go to auction sales or just go for a drive down to the states. He just loved to drive his famous 560 International Tractor, his square baler and last but not least, his Chevys. He enjoyed carpentry, tinkering with machinery and lending a helping hand whenever needed. He spent thirteen years running a wood cutting outfit. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 17, 2002 at 10:30 A.M. in Good Samaritan R.C. Church, 425 Broad St. N., Regina, SK with Rev. Joe Nabywaniec, celebrant. The Interment will follow at Cupar Cemetery, Cupar, SK. A Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2002 at 5:00 P.M. in Good Samaritan R.C. Church. Maryann was predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, Joseph Frischholz; one daughter Marion Reiman; and one son-in-law Gerald Schaefer. Five sisters: Rose Menosa, Marisefa Fahlman, Brigetta Hoffart, Rosalinda Lanz, Seraphine Moyer, and Josephine Aspelliter; one brother Mike Lanz; and two step-brothers Jack and Frank Schaeffer. She is survived by her children: Margaret Schaefer of Regina, Tony (Theresa) of Minton, Conrad (Donna) of Minton, Leo (Pauline) of Regina, Rose Marie Frischholz of Regina; and one son-in-law Oran Reiman of Saskatoon. Also survived by her grand and great grandchildren Tim (Doreen) Schaefer; Ardis (James) Lukowich and children Jesse & Brittany; Jocelyn (Kevin) Schaefer-Roberts and daughter Maryanne; Linely Schaefer and daughter Kylee; Michelle Schaefer and children Jamie, Jenna & Shawn; Whitney (Shawn) Milligan and children Keegan & Eamon, Dean (Lenore) Frischholz and children, Jack & Jennifer, Linda and her children Katelynn, Jessica & Cole; Ron Frischholz; Perry (Michelle) Frischholz and children Joey & Shane; Melinda Oberkirsch and son Travis; Delwain Reiman, Victoria Reiman and children Amanda, Ryan, Alexandra & Jessica; Tammy (Brent) Topp and children Nicola & Daniel; Vonnie (Joey) Schmidt and children Chelsea & Leah; Gaylen Frischholz; Crystal (Brad) Sayers and son Kyler; Cordel Frischholz; Tanis Goddard; Rob (Bonnie) Frischholz and children Jesse & Corbin; Scott (Jill) Frischholz and children Hanna & Bridgette; Darcy (Sara) Frischholz. Maryann also leaves one sister Amelia Schlosser; step-brother Dave Schaeffer; sister-in-law Margaret Lanz; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and special friends Sandra Peat and Eileen Wagar. Maryann was born in Sedley, SK, on September 10, 1912. She married Joseph Frischholz on June 1, 1931. They lived on a homestead south of Minton until 1963 at which time they retired to Minton. In 1993, Maryann moved to Regina to live with her daughter Margaret until 1998 when she took up residence at the Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home. Mary held memberships with the C.W.L. for both Christ the King R.C. Church and St. Eugene R.C. Church. Maryann touched the lives of many over the last 89 years and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Prayers will be held on Friday, June 14, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home, 4215 Regina Ave. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 15, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Eugene R.C. Church, Minton, SK, with Rev. Francis (Prince)Kurisinkal, Celebrant. Interment in Minton Chapel Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers those so wishing can make donations, inmemoriam, to the Minton Chapel Grove Cemetery. Arrangements in care of Speers Funeral Chapel and Crematorium Services.
