GALINEC - On Friday, August 22, 2003, Joan Galinec, Regina, Sask. passed away following a brief battle with cancer at the age of 63 years. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Sacred Heart R.C Church, Lebret, Sask. on Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. by the Reverend I. Gorski. Interment in the parish cemetery. Predeceased by her husband, Stan Galinec; her parents, Albert and Mary Klyne; twin grandchildren in infancy; three brothers, Walter, Nelson and one in infancy; and one sister, Lorraine Babeuf. Joan is survived and will be greatly missed by her children: Joe (Tammy) Galinec, Maria (Brad) Dalke, and Peter (Kim) Galinec, all of Regina, Sask. and Michelle Myers, Calgary, Alta.; nine grandchildren and two brothers, Lawrence Klyne, Fort Qu'Appelle, Sask. and James Klyne, Regina. If friends so desire contributions of remembrance may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre St., Regina, Sask., S4P 2R3.

HUNTER - Ted Edward George, age 46 of Swift Current, suddenly and tragically passed away on Friday, August 15, 2003 on a hill overlooking Lake Diefenbaker in the Riverhurst area. Ted's memory will be cherished by his wife, Chriss. Their life together shortened in only 27 years. Proud father to Shauna and Michelle Hunter of Swift Current. He was a doting Dad/ Granddad to Clayton and Madison Hunter (Swift Current), beloved son/son-in-law to Ed & Helen Hunter (Calgary, AB), Brian & Jenny McDonnell (Shaunavon); also survived by brother, James (Annette) Hunter, of Stettler, AB; sisters: Jean (Allan) Callaghan, (Edmonton, AB), Bev (Garry) Matkovich (Calgary, AB), Mary Lou (Blaine) Herda (Calgary, AB); sisters-in-law, Janis (Joe) Stark (Shaunavon), Carol (Jack) Gruending (Quesnell, BC); brother-in-law, Doug McConnell (Sheila) of St. Paul, AB; aunts, Mary Cranston (Lethbridge), and Jean (Cliff) Pateman (Saskatoon); also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and family across Canada and the British Isles. Ted was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Lucille Hunter. Ted was born in Edson, AB the eldest of six children. Ted attended school in Edmonton and Calgary. Following completion of his grade twleve, Ted worked in many areas of Construction. He worked in the north as a roustabout in the oil and gas industry and remained connected as he longed for the Northern way of life. Ted moved to Saskatoon to change careers where he met and married his wife Chriss. In 1979 and 1980 daughters, Shauna and Michelle were born. In 1981 Ted obtained his journeyman welding ticket. In 1984 Ted started his full time employment with SGI. He easily promoted from Salvage Operations to Auto Insurance as a claims adjuster. His life entailed many job bids, promotions and moves. In 1987 he encouraged and fully supported in his wife returning to school. As well as working he took over almost all child rearing and housekeeping duties so Chriss could study and pass her R.N. exam. Ted had many friends in all the places he worked and lived. His quirky sense of humor and ability to converse with all people appealed to all those around him. He was a kind, thoughtful, compassionate and very honest and truthful individual. He was a great listener, showing concern, sympathy and empathy with his actions and words. Ted would be the first to shake your hand, give you the shirt of his back and the last dime from his pocket. His willingness to help others was evident in the number of service clubs and organizations he belonged to over the years. Mason's admired his ability to memorize all their rituals and rites to move through the chairs. Lions were grateful for time donated by Ted to sit in on the Bingo commission as a representative and chairperson. Ted donated mnay hours to serving his community; while a member of the Kinsmen club of Swift Current, Ted participated at club, zone and distric levels. He represented the southwest for four years as Zone F Telemiracle Foundation Rep. and was deeply committed to Telmiracle and it's philosophy and ideals. Ted had a great affinity for the outdoors, especially camping and boating. All Ted's free time in the summer was spent at the lake or vacationing with family members. In the winter he loved to travel to warmer climates. Ted was not physically well having been diagnosed with chronic progressive MS in June 1996. His determination, strength, stubbornness, fierce independence and positive outlook kept him going and motivated. His passion was his children: watching them grow and mature into two beautiful young women. Ted's grandson and granddaughter in their sweet, innocent playfulness would tease their daddy/grandpa hiding his shoes or teasing him incessantly about his gray hair were some of his cherished moments. Ted took great pride and satisfaction parenting those two rascals and many people commented on his love and deep commitment to them. With your thoughts and prayers, join family and friends in the celebration of Ted Hunters life on Sunday, August 24, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Parkside Memorial Funeral Home with Reverend John Barker officiating. The organist will be Arlene Olson and Honorary Pallbearers are: Lawrence Berger, Bruce Borden, Jack Gruending, James Hunter, Tim Russill and Joe Stark. Family has selected special musical and inspirational pieces. A reception was held at the Eagles Hall following the service. Flowers are gratefully declined, donations in Ted's memory may be made to the MS Society of Swift Current or to the Kinsmen Telemiracle Foundation. JAN - Luc David. On Friday, August 22, 2003, Luc passed away at the age of 72 years. Luc was born on February 7, 1931 in Wolseley, Saskatchewan. He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Marie Jan, one sister, Gabrielle Denoff and three brothers in law, Maurice Denoff, Oscar Vindevoghel and Gordon Trout. Luc is survived by his children, Gerald, B.C., Ronnie (Cathie), Regina, Sask., Garry, Vibank, Sask., Brian (Gisele), Montmartre, Sask., Brenda (Barry) Byman, Strathmore, AB., Vivian (Warren) Rieder, Regina, Sask. and Jeannette Jan, B.C.; seven grandchildren and one great grandson; one brother, David (Lydia), Edmonton, AB.; three sisters, Riene (John) Bowen, Jasper, AB., Frances (Tony) Ecarnot, Regina, Sask. and Marie Vindevoghel, Wolseley, Sask.; and numerous other relatives and friends.
