Hubbs, Alden Cameron,

Milestone, SS
HUBBS - Alden Cameron Hubbs passed away peacefully on October 15, 2003 at the age of 86 years. Cameron was predeceased by his parents, Ben and Flora Hubbs; his brother, Jim Hubbs; and dear friend, Sylvia Klang. He is survived by sister-in-law, Irene Hubbs; nieces, Betty Ann Schiefner and Paulette Hubbs; and special friends, Karen Fox and Bonnie Curtis. Cameron was born and raised in the Milestone area. He served overseas with the Canadian Air Force during WWII. Following his return, Cameron lived and farmed at Milestone and Wilcox before retiring to Regina. A Graveside Service will be held at the Milestone Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2003. Arrangements in care of Speers Funeral Chapel and Crematorium Services.

Konechny, John Joseph,

KONECHNY - John Joseph John was born in Cupar, Saskatchewan on August 23, 1951 and died October 16, 2003 after an eleven year battle with cancer. John was the only son of the late John Paul Konechny and the late Helen Halbgewachs. John attended Radant Elementary School and also went to High School in Dysart, SK. John took pride in working the family farm, and also worked for the Department of Natural Resources. He enjoyed working in the garden and in the preparation of a tasty meal in his kitchen. John will be remembered for being a great friendly guy with a good, kind heart. His last few years were spent in the excellent care of the Shalom Nursing Home in Cupar. Thanks are extended to the staff for his special care. John is survived by numerous aunts and many cousins. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, October 20, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. from St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Dysart, SK with Rev. Bob MacKenzie celebrant. Interment will follow in the R.C. Cemetery, Dysart, SK. Donations may be made in John's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre St., Regina, SK S4P 2R3. Arrangements are in the care of LEE FUNERAL HOME 757-8645

AUGUST - F.W. (Bill) It is with great sadness we announce the passing on Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at the age of 82. Bill was born on December 30, 1920 at Dysart, Saskatchewan. He was predeceased by his parents F.P. Pete and Mary August; son Myron; brother Ed; nephew Bruce August. He is survived by his daughter Elaine (Denis) Herod, Burlington Ontario; their sons Glenn (Sandi); great grandsons Aaron and Adam, Smithville, Ontario, Craig (Tracy) of Burlington, Ontario; his daughter Connie Barrett and her children Kim, Corey (great-granddaughter Alysha of Regina) and Clint Barett of Kamsack; his sister Ruby (Arnold) Bast and their children Randy Bast and Lorie (Blair) Pateman and their daughters Carla and Stephanie of Weyburn; nephews Joe and Fred August of Niagra Falls, Ontario. Bill will be sadly missed by his family and friends. A special thanks to Erica Beisick for her help and kindness to Bill. A MEMORIAL MASS will be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 2026 Winnipeg St., on Monday, November 3, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ray Rodriguez, Celebrant. Interment will be at the Regina Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hwy #1 East on Monday, November 3, 2003. Arrangements are entrusted to the Regina Funeral Home (Phone 789-8850)

BRAZIER - Elena (Lee) August 31, 1923 to October 27, 2003 After a brief and courageous battle with lung cancer, Lee died peacefully at her home in Regina at the age of 80. Lee is lovingly remembered by her three children, Barry (Joan) of Vernon, Barbara and Susan of Regina, her grandchildren, Josh, Joel, James and Jason, her brothers Ed (Wanda), Eugene (Marge), Walter (Grace), and Henry (Norma), brother-in-law Albert and sisters-in-law Hazel and Helen. Lee was predeceased by her husband, Eric, in 1984, her sisters Mary and Emily (Albert) and her brothers John (Helen) and Don (Hazel). Lee will not only be remembered for her remarkable kitchen skill's and terrific sense of humour but for her incomparable generosity, as well. Lee touched the lives of many and she'll be sadly missed. Many thanks to the staff of Regina Palliative Care, Dr.Belinda Coetsee and the staff of the Allan Blair Cancer Centre. Our love and sincere gratitude to Ed, Wanda, Terri and Lucy whose support and devotion will never be forgotten. No service by Lee's request, cremation with private family memorial to follow. Miss me but let me go When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set me free I want no cries in a gloom filled room Why cry for a soul set free Miss me a little, but not too long And not with your head bowed low Remember the life that we all shared Miss me but let me go When you are lonely and sick of heart Go to the friends we know And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds Miss me but let me go. CARON - ELIZABETH of Moose Jaw, Sask., passed away peacefully on October 29, 2003 at the age of 82 years. Predeceased by her parents Bernadette and Eudore Michel, son Alain in 1970, and her husband Cesaire in 1997, she is survived by four children: Claude (Vivianne) of Francis, Sask., Raymond (Kenda) of Moose Jaw, Denis (Bobbie) of Moose Jaw and Arline Caron of Carlyle, Sask., numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Elizabeth was truly a compassionate and caring woman. She had a life long commitment to her faith and family. Elizabeth's strong work ethic was demonstrated through the years as she raised her family and worked the family farm. Elizabeth never had a harsh word to say and was always there to help anyone in need. She enjoyed spending time with her family, relatives, and friends and she took great pride in her garden and yard work. PRAYER SERVICE will be held at St. George's Roman Catholic Church, Assiniboia, Sask., Sunday, November 2 at 7:30 p.m. FUNERAL MASS will be held at St. George's R.C. Church, Monday, November 3 at 10:30 a.m. Masses or Donations in Memory can be made to Alzheimer Society. Interment to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Assiniboia. Cawsey, Emery,

CAWSEY - Emery Bishop passed away after a short illness on Monday, October 27, 2003 at 93 years of age. Em was born June 26, 1910 on a farm just outside of Davidson, Saskatchewan. He moved to Moose Jaw as a young teenager, where he attended King George School and Central Collegiate. He worked for The T. Eaton Co. for 46 years, starting in 1928 in Moose Jaw, transferring to Regina in 1964, and retiring in 1974 as a department manager. During World War II Em joined the Moose Jaw 77th Field Battery as a lieutenant. He attended a senior officers' course at Oxford while he was in England, and became a Major, second in command of the 2nd Medium Regiment. While the regiment was in Italy, Em's back was injured when his jeep hit a land mine. He was returned to Canada and put in command of the School of Artillery in Petawawa, Ontario. He was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel while in this posting. Em was training on American equipment in Fort Sill, Oklahoma when the war ended. As a young man Em was very active in sports. He played football for the Moose Jaw Maroons, scoring both goals in a win over the Regina Roughriders. He also played for the Moose Jaw hardball team, who became Western Canadian champions while he played for them. When his own family was young Em belonged to the Buffalo Lake Sailing Club. As a senior snowbirding in Arizona he belonged to the "Roun-de-lays" round dancing club. He was an avid bridge player all his life, and was still playing bridge with the ""Pairs and Spares"" at Whitmore Park United Church two weeks before his death. Emery was a member of St. Andrews United Church in Moose Jaw, and Lakeview United Church after his move to Regina. He received his 50 year certificate in January, 2003 from the Masonic Order, Moose Jaw Lodge #3 where he was a Master Mason. He was past-president of the Moose Jaw Kiwanis Club, past-president of the Moose Jaw United Way, past-president of Moose Jaw Family Services, and was also a member of the Moose Jaw Chamber of Commerce and the Emergency Measures Organization in Regina. Em was predeceased by his parents Fred and Barbara Cawsey, his wife Mary (Craig) Cawsey, daughter Sandra Wilson, and brothers Aubrey and Ralph Cawsey. He is survived by his brother Fred Cawsey of Prince George, BC; son Fred (Pat) Cawsey; daughter Nancy (Harv) From; granddaughters Carrie (Kim) Tarr and Amanda (Todd) Maier; great grandchildren Sarah Tarr, Ryan Tarr, Samantha Maier and Taylor Maier, all of Regina; and numerous nephews and nieces. A Memorial Service will be held at the Chapel in Lakeview United Church, 3200 McCallum Avenue, Regina on Saturday, November 22 at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow at the church. Flowers gratefully declined. Those wishing to do so may make donations to the charity of their choice. COLLIN - Len Louie Peacefully, in his sleep, our father and husband, Kenneth Collin, aged 55 years, passed away October 29, 2003. Beloved husband of Sonia of Thompson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Lawrence R.C. Church, 114 Cree Road with Fr. Martin Bradbury officiating. Cremation to follow. A memorial service will be held in Regina at a later date. Ken was born 1948 in Osage Saskatchewan, Ken spent most of his youth in and around Regina area. Along with his wife Sonia and eldest daughter Sherry, Ken moved to Thompson in 1970 to begin work in the INCO refinery. Soon Shannon completed the family. A true visionary and entrepreneur, Ken turned his passions of the last 32 years into small business; Thompson Aquarium, Muskegers Brewing and the first internet service of northern Manitoba, North*Star Communications. As an active community member Ken served many years as a City Councilor, working on a variety of boards and committees as well as provincial politics. Stepping down from community service in 2000 and an INCO retirement in 2002 allowed Ken time to develop his high speed wireless technologies. Left to carry on Ken's legacy of strong will, generous spirit and appreciation of the finer things in life are his loving wife Sonia, cherished daughters Sherry (Mark) and Shannon and faithful canine Marvin. He is also survived by sisters Karen (Murray) and Noreen (Eldon), brother Raymond, father and mother-in-law, Edgar and Joan Cooke, brother-in-law, John Cooke (Gerry), plus numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Emile (1968), his mother Mildred (1990) and long time canine companion Oscar (1998). If friends so desire, donations may be made in Ken's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301 352 Donald Street, Winnipeg, R3B 2H8. Born and raised in the Arbury District, where he learned his love of farming. Predeceased by his parents William and Bertha, sister Elizabeth (Betty) Voeltz, brothers-in-law Frank Meickel, Erhardt Galenzoski, Louie Gall, Ashley Voeltz and nephew Randy Galenzoski. Albert is survived by 4 brothers: John (Marion) Regina, Len (Martha) Regina, Bill (Elaine) Regina, Peter (Jeanne) Regina. 4 sisters: Mary Katchuk Southey, Rose Kowalchuk Regina, Helen Leier Regina, Gloria (Earl) Petrovicz Calgary.
