Evelyn Pelletier
June 3, 1957 - September 3, 2007

PELLETIER, Evelyn Jean Pelletier (nee McLellan) passed away peacefully at Royal University Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer on September 3rd, 2007.

She was a very special best friend, deeply loved by her family and many special friends.

She is survived by her devoted husband Roger; children Charlene (Ryan Schulhauser) and Brad (Kristin); grandchildren Reid and Isabelle. Evelyn was born on June 3rd, 1957 at Outlook, SK. to Elmer and Dorothy McLellan, the youngest of five children.

She is remembered by sisters, Margaret (Len Smith), Louise (Victor Martens), Irene (Doug Pierce); and only brother Fred; in-laws Zenon and Lucienne Pelletier; and sisters and brothers-in-law, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Her last memorable days were spent with her family on a house boating trip in BC at the Shuswap lakes, where she hoped to return some day.

She was exceptionally strong and overcame many obstacles and challenges.

Her devotion was to her husband, children and grandchildren. A special thank you to Dr. C. Kanthan and his team, as well as the nursing staff of 5300 at RUH.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 5th, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home.

Donations in Evelyn’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (101 – 440 2nd Ave. N., Saskatoon, SK).

Arrangements are entrusted to Dawn Engel, HILLCREST FUNERAL HOME.

Sandra LaFreniere
August 4, 1948 - September 6, 2007

LAFRENIERE – Sandra Anne, August 4th, 1948 – September 6th, 2007. It is with deep sadness that the family mourns the sudden passing of Sandra.

She will be lovingly remembered by daughters Jamie Spruce (Jerry Joyce), Sechelt, BC, Patty Whitehead, Rosthern, SK, and Diane Neufeld (Doug), Langham, SK and grandchildren Stephanie, Christopher, Lisa and Traci and her siblings and extended family.

She was predeceased by her husband Jim; her parents Sarah and John; brother Sam and brother-in-law Larry.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 12th, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens (east on 8th Street, turn right before railway tracks).

Family and friends may gather in the foyer at Hillcrest Funeral Home before the service.

Donations in Sandra’s name may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.

Arrangements are entrusted to Dawn Engel HILLCREST FUNERAL HOME.

Alice Bate
November 7, 1917 - September 5, 2007

BATE (nee Wyatt) – Alice Louise passed peacefully at age 89 on Wednesday, September 5th, 2007, surrounded by three generations of her loving family. Alice was born and raised in Saskatoon where she lived until 1971, at which time she and her late husband, Jim (1914-2005), moved to Lethbridge.

They returned to Saskatoon in 2000.

She is survived by daughters Judy (George) Franson and Barbara (John) Mooney; grandchildren Cheryl (Rick) Leier, Brent (Joy) Franson, Jennifer (Rick) Mooney and Glen (Andréanne) Mooney; great-grandchildren Michael, Ryan and Tyler Leier, Tianna and CJ Brownlee-Franson and Léo Perreault-Mooney.

Alice’s passing will be mourned by all who shared her love, friendship and joy for living.

We celebrate her zestful life as an exemplary mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Respecting Alice’s wishes, there will be a private family interment service.

If desired, donations in Alice’s name could be directed to the charity of one’s choice.

Mr. Norman Daniel Schneider
May 14, 1933 - September 8, 2007

Schneider, Norman Daniel

Late of St. Walburg, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2007, at the age of 74 years.

He is survived by his loving family: wife, Olive of 34 years; 2 children, Ed (Mary Anne) Kuebler; Don (Christine) Kuebler; four grandchildren, Ken, Cally, Trevor and Shay; one brother, Leonard (Geraldine) Biever; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Norman is predeceased by his parents, Rudolph and Laura, step-father, Maurice Biever and brother Bernard.

The family request no service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute.

Mrs. Laura Hilda Whaley
March 23, 1921 - September 10, 2007

Laura Hilda Whaley passed away peacefully on Monday, September 10, 2007 at the age of 86 years.

She was predeceased by her husband Harvey; parents Peter and Roberta Derkson; two sisters and two brothers.

Laura will be lovingly remembered by her children Barbara (Mervin) Parkinson, Richard (Maria) Whaley and Keith (Jill) Whaley; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one brother.

Laura was born on March 23, 1921 in Manitoba.

At a young age, her mother passed away and she was sent to work quite young.

She worked as a housekeeper, later marrying the gentleman she worked for and together they had three children.

Laura worked as a housekeeper at the Nipawin Hospital for 20 years.

She enjoyed playing cards, watching TV, crocheting and walking.

Laura made many friends during her stay at Pioneer Village.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at 2:00 p.m.

Donations in memory of Laura may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 301, 2550 – 12th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3X1.

Arrangements are entrusted to Regina Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lois Strecker
May 20, 1922 - August 25, 2007

Lois (nee Schwager) passed away peacefully at Pioneer Village on August 25, 2007 at the age of 85 years.

Lois was predeceased by her parents William and Hilda; loving husband George; brothers Raymond, Bud, Glenn, Ernie and Tom and sisters Maxine Murphy and Ruby Weichel.

Lois will be lovingly remembered by her sons Larrie (Carol) and Gerald (Diana); grandchildren Angela, Leanne, Chad and Lisa (Steven Beres); brother-in-law Phil (Anne) Strecker; sisters-in-law Mary Schwager, Rose Ruecker, Marge Strecker and Lena Strecker; special friend Linda Dauk; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A VISITATION for family and friends will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.

A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at 10:00 AM.

INTERMENT will be at Regina Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lois's memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 917a Albert Street, Regina, SK S4R 2P6.

Mr. Kenneth B. Gamble
July 18, 1956 - August 24, 2007

Ken passed away on Friday, August 24, 2007 at the age of 51 years.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Donna of 27 years; children Charmaine (Brian) Stouse and Kendra (Bryce Thompson) Gamble; grand-daughters Madeline, Zoe and Ava Stouse; parents George and Marguerite; brothers Ron (Hilda) and Morley (Kathy); mother-in-law Doreen Rathgeber; brother-in-law Dave (Tara) Mack; as well as special nieces, nephews and friends.

Ken worked for Dairyland Foods for his entire career.

It was here he made many friends and loyal customers.

He was southern Saskatchewan’s favorite “Milk Dude”.

Ken enjoyed spending time at Alice Beach where he and Donna had a cabin.

The most important part of Ken’s life were the times spent with his best friend and wife Donna and his most precious blessings, his children and grandchildren.

A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at 2:00 PM with Reverend Daryl Solie officiating.

Donations in Ken’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 2360 – 2nd Avenue, Regina, SK S4R 1A6.

Arrangements are entrusted to Regina Funeral Home.
