Mary Magdaline ‘Madeline’ Weinkauf - With dignity, grace and peacefulness and with family at her side, Madeline Weinkauf passed away on July 31, 2007 at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon from renal complications caused by a vasculitis.
Madeline was born on June 27, 1928 at Primate, SK to parents Edward and Amelia Stang. She was the seventh oldest in a family of fifteen.
Left to celebrate her life and cherish her memories is her loving husband of sixty years, Peter; her sons, Gerry (Lori), Wayne (Donna), Murray (Jackie); and her daughter, Theresa (Ken) Bosch; 12 grandchildren, Vanessa (Todd) Decae, Justin (Christina) Weinkauf, Scott (Leanne) Weinkauf, Jerilyn (Jeremy) Lang, Tyler Weinkauf, Cindy Weinkauf, Nicole (Curtis) Suberlak, Brett Bosch, Danielle Ellis-Weinkauf, Allison Ellis-Weinkauf, Colin Weinkauf and Ryan Weinkauf; 6 great grandchildren, Callen Decae, Andrew Weinkauf, Kaitlyn Weinkauf, Christopher Weinkauf, Aiden Weinkauf and Cole Lang; six surviving siblings, Ron Stang, Iva (Jack) Beck, Loretta (Frank) Mauro, Jack (Doreen) Stang, Edward (Barbara) Stang and Lillian Beck; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Madeline was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Amelia (Brost); her son, Raymond and infant son, Joseph; her siblings, Molly Holhman, Florence Sieben, Joe Stang, Mary Brost, Tony Stang, Josephine Brost, Rita Bardegard and Eleanor Manchakowzki.
Madeline married Peter on October 15, 1946. They lived in several rural communities before anchoring themselves for twenty-three years in Denzil, SK. In 1980 they opted to retire to Saskatoon. Madeline was a dedicated wife and loving homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She demonstrated wonderful culinary skills particularly in her desserts. She manifested her many talents in her hobbies especially with her crocheting, knitting, and her famous ‘pot scratchers’. She was a socially outgoing person and she enjoyed the company of family, friends and relatives. She really looked forward to visits from her family especially from her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was fiercely proud of them. Madeline demonstrated her concern for the community, especially in her involvement with the Catholic Women’s League and its mission of serving others. Her family will always remember and treasure her strong conviction to prayer and faith.
A Vigil for Madeline will be held on Friday, August 3, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Kevin McGee as celebrant. Both services will be held at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, 602 Boychuk Drive, Saskatoon, SK. Rite of Comittal will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Madeline’s memory to Queen’s House Retreat and Renewal Centre, 601 Taylor Street West, Saskatoon, SK, S7M 0C9.

Mrs. Elsie Boylan
March 23, 1940 - July 30, 2007
BOYLAN, Elsie of Saskatoon, SK passed away peacefully at St. Paul’s Hospital on Monday, July 30, 2007 at the age of 67 years.
Elsie is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Belinda Boylan and Noelle Shivak; granddaughter, Jade Shivak; sisters, Sally (Dale) Stordahl, Lily (Nick) Osecki; and extended family.
She was predeceased by her parents, Metro and Helen (nee Luciow) Dulyk; brother, Bill Dulyk; and son-in-law, Graham Shivak.
Elsie was born on March 23, 1940 in Porcupine Plain, SK. She worked at SaskTel from 1969 until her retirement and continued as a SaskTel Pioneer.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from PARK FUNERAL CHAPEL, 311 - 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Mike Edward Lesyshen
September 28, 1920 - August 11, 2007
LESYSHEN, Mike Edward. It is with sadness we announce that Mike passed away, following a brief illness, at Wakaw Union Hospital on Saturday, August 11, 2007.
He will be loved and remembered by his son, Roy (Cathy); and his four grandchildren, Kelly (Chris), Candice (Michel), Cara (Kurtis), and Ryan (Katherine); great grandchildren, Caileigh and Barrett; and his many friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers, Bill and Joe; his sisters, Tonka, Dora, Anne, Pauline, Mary, and Jean.
Mike was born on September 28, 1920 in Dana, Saskatchewan to Mary and John Lesyshen. He farmed on his parents homestead in Dana and later retired to Prud’homme, Saskatchewan. Mike was a good friend to everyone. He was always there when a helping hand was needed. He had a great love for horses and hockey. He played hockey in his early years and passed up an opportunity to play in the NHL, due to family responsibilities. Mike had a fantastic memory. He loved to talk of the good old days and could recall stories with great detail. He was a very independent man and he always said he made his own way in his life and he did it his way. Mike will be loved and missed but his memory will go on in the minds of everyone who knew him.
Prayers will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. The Celebration of Mike’s Life will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Both services will be held at Park Funeral Chapel, 311 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK, officiated by Rev. Fr. André Lalach. The interment service will take place in Dana Cemetery, Dana, SK.

Mrs. Lillian Hertha Ast
March 31, 1931 - August 10, 2007
On August 10, 2007 Mrs. Lillian Ast of Regina, passed away at the age of 76 years.
She was predeceased by infant son Murray Robert, parents Herman and Lydia, two infant brothers, one infant sister, brothers Albert and Erhart, sister in law Clara and in laws Philip and Carrie Ast.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of nearly 52 years Rudy, sons, Brian (Lisa) and Wayne, daughter, Tracy (Louis) Fontaine, grandchildren, Brittany, Greg and Kevin, brother, Emil, sister, Frieda (Gerharat) Sombrutzki, sisters in law, Olga (Nick) Fabrik and Marie and Ruth Biberdorf, as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
A CELEBRATION OF LILLIAN'S LIFE will take place on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 1037 Victoria Avenue in Regina with lunch after the service. Interment will follow in Regina Memorial Gardens.

Mrs Theresa Hagel
May 28, 1913 - August 5, 2007
HAGEL, Theresa, of Allan, SK, passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2007 at St. Paul’s Hospital at the age of 94 years.
Theresa is lovingly remembered by her sons, Alex (Valerie), Ray (Marie), Edward (Irene), Wayne (Louise); son-in-law, Bill Schnitzler; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jake Fischer (Louise), Gerhart Fischer; sister, Jen Exner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Adam Hagel (1977); son, Andrew (1960); daughter, Frances Schnitzler (1981); brothers, Joe Fischer, Nick Fischer, Roy Fischer; sisters, Helen Hagel, Katherine Krocker, Marion Gelowitz; sister-in-law, Judy Fischer; and brothers-in-law, Ed Exner, Dave Krocker, George Hagel.
Theresa was born in Allan, SK on May 28, 1913. She grew up in Zelma and lived her entire life in the Allan district, except for her final year. After she married she worked side by side with her husband Adam on the family farm south of Allan and later in the town of Allan. She took joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially family gatherings with the inevitable card games and those precious visits with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her hands were never idle, always busy with everything from the heaviest farm work to the most delicate embroidery and fabric painting. She was an excellent seamstress and her favorite projects were her quilts. She was able to make a thing of beauty out of a bag of old clothes. Every member of the family treasures her quilts and she made sure we each had a least one. Mom faced the challenges in her life with courage and with the strength she received from her steadfast faith in the Lord. Her greatest legacy is the example of her good and productive life. Thank you Mom.
Vigil for Theresa will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 10, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. Both services will be held at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Keith Moreau, Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made to a charity of choice.
