Mrs. Shirley Rose Quayle
October 16, 1930 - August 6, 2007

QUAYLE - The family of Shirley Rose Quayle is deeply saddened to announce her sudden passing on Monday, August 6, 2007 at her residence.
Shirley was born in Saskatoon on October 16, 1930, the youngest child of Catherine and Russell Reid. She attended King George Elementary School and Saskatoon Technical Collegiate Institute. Shirley became a “career woman” as a bookkeeper before that phrase was coined, and her work was always very important to her. Shirley married Cyril Quayle in 1960 and they had two children, Curtis and Sharon. Shirley and Cy were avid and enthusiastic bowlers, which became a family activity for many years. She was inducted into the Saskatoon and Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fames and continued to bowl until her passing. Shirley was a life long member of St. David’s United Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir for many years. Crosswords, jigsaw puzzles and reading were also some of her favourite pastimes.
Shirley is survived by her son, Curtis Quayle (Larissa Coates) and grandsons, Cynan and Lucas; daughter, Sharon Quayle (Dwight McInnes) and granddaughter, McKayla; stepson, David Quayle (Jan) and family; stepdaughter, Bonnie Stewart (Kelly Hewitt) and family; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Cy in 1989; her parents; and her siblings, Ruth, Laura, Grace, Evelyn, Lloyd and Lorne. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Saskatoon Unit, 438 2nd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 2C3.
A public viewing will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2007 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Park Funeral Chapel, 311 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 10, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at St. David’s United Church, 1022 Avenue L South, Saskatoon, SK with Rev. Lorraine Harkness officiating. Mr. Thomas Timothy Shabbits
October 26, 1952 - July 29, 2007

Thomas Timothy Shabbits - The Shabbits family regrets to announce the death of Thomas Timothy Shabbits in St. Paul's Hospital, Saskatoon, SK on Sunday, July 29, 2007 with family by his side. Tom was born in Yorkton, SK on October 26, 1952. He attended school in Yorkton graduating from St. Joseph's College. Tom then went on to the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, receiving a B.A. in 1975, a B.Ed. in 1979, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Curriculum Studies in 1989.
Tom began his working career in Audio-visual Services at the University of Saskatchewan on the Saskatoon Campus. This facilitated his move to Walter Murray Collegiate where he was Audio-visual Coordinator from 1979 to 2002. Tom started working for the Saskatoon Public Schools on February 1, 1979, and was assigned to Walter Murray, where he spent his entire teaching career. While at Walter Murray, Tom taught English Language Arts, Media Studies, Information Processing and Computer Science. Part of his assignment during his years at Walter Murray also included being the Audio-visual Coordinator and the Computer Network Manager when computers were first introduced in the schools. In the 2004-05 school year Tom went on leave and toured the United States, spending time visiting his nieces and nephews along the way. He returned to Walter Murray Collegiate for the 2005-06 school year to teach English; however, at the start of the second semester in January 2006, Tom went on medical leave until June of 2007 when he retired. To the staff at Walter Murray Tom was always the person to go to when Technological expertise was required to build a media show or a website, or to research a software or computer purchase for the school or personal use. His knowledge was outstanding and his thinking was always forward looking.
Tom is survived by a sister, Marie (Werden) Keeler of Thunder Bay, ON and a brother, James (Gloria) Shabbits of Nanaimo, BC. He is also survived by niece Katherine (Syrus) Keeler Jaffe and great-nephews Noah (age 4) and Bode (age 1) of Carlsbad, CA; nephew Gordon (Bianca) Keeler and great-nephew Hudson (age 7 months) of Albuquerque, NM; nephew Michael (Jennifer) Shabbits and great-niece Hannah (age 1 1/2 years) of Richmond, BC; niece Megan (Graham) Shabbits Mackey and great-niece Gretchen (age 4 weeks) of Toronto, ON. Tom was always very kind to and supportive of his nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his father Stephen in 1997, his mother Grace in 1999, and by his sister Joan in 1997.
Cremation and Interment in Woodlawn Catholic Cemetery. The Memorial Service will be held in Park Funeral Chapel, 311 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 11 a.m., officiated by Rev. Fr. André Poilièvre.

The family wishes to thank the many friends who extended their friendship to Tom over the years. We often heard about you and your travels and lives. Special thanks to Frank Roy, Lucille Dube, Lyle Mang and Al Hiebert for your assistance at this time.
