Raymond Thompson
Thompson, Raymond Stanly Thompson, age 89, of White Bear, SK passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Kyle and District Health Centre. A Celebration of Life was held at 2:00 pm, Friday, March 28, 2014 at Kyle United Church with Reverend Jim McNaughton officiating. The organist was Darlene Smith. A duet was preformed by grandsons Michael MacArthur and Kennedy Thompson. The eulogy was delivered by daughters Gloria Thompson and Carol Chapman. The ushers were nephews Gordon Hesla and Eldon Danielson. The Interment Service was held at Skandia Cemetery. The pallbearers were Scott, Chris, Nick and Curtis Chapman, Michael, Amanda, Mackenzie and Danielle MacArthur, Tyler and Kandis Speir, Evan Thompson and Kennedy Thompson. Raymond is survived by his children, Carol (Bob) Chapman, Glen (Paulette), Gloria (Brian), and Lorne; grandchildren, Scott (Vanessa) Chapman, Chris Chapman, Nick Chapman, Curtis Chapman (Chelsey); Evan (Michelle) Thompson; Tyler (Jen) Speir, Kandis Speir (Matt), Kennedy Thompson, Michael MacArthur (Stephanie), Amanda MacArthur, Mackenzie MacArthur, Danielle MacArthur (Ryan); great grandchildren Aiden and Hailey Chapman; Trey and Kailey Thompson; Carter and Blake Speir; sister Laverna Hesla and sister-in-law Sigrid Thompson as well as nephews and nieces and their families. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years, Annie; his parents Hilda and Julius Thompson; his son Brian; brother Lloyd and sister Geneva; brothers and sisters-in-law Melvin, Clarence and Lloyd Master, Henry Hesla, Urvan Danielson, Gladys and Fred McWillie and Helen and Arthur Potter. Raymond was born on the family farm in the White Bear District on March 8, 1925. He attended school at Fundale, Neosho and Kyle Schools. Raymond married Annie Master on October 17, 1955 at the United Church in Swift Current. Raymond farmed south-west of White Bear since he was very young and this is where they raised their family. Raymond enjoyed music, dancing, fishing, boating, hunting, woodworking and spending time with his family. While living on the farm he always had a big herd of cattle, as well as sheep and horses. Raymond always enjoyed time at the river, never being too busy to take the kids waterskiing and fishing. Together, Annie and Raymond built a beautiful farm and were very proud of their accomplishments. Raymond enjoyed music, especially playing the guitar and did so almost every day. He passed his love of music along to his children and grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his gentleness, his sense of humour, and his love of life. The family takes solace knowing that he will be reunited with the love of his life, Annie and his fishing buddy and son, Brian. Lloyd Thoreson
THORESON: Lloyd passed away peacefully at the Swift Current hospital after a short and courageous battle with cancer. He was born at the family farm at Snake Hole Lake, six miles South of Cabri, SK. He attended Panorama school and was deeply saddened when it was burned down in 2013. After working at various jobs and travelling, he settled in Kamloops, BC for 27 years. Lloyd was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion wherever he hung his hat. He made three trips to Scotland which he loved almost as much as getting in the car and driving down the highway just to see how the calving was doing, or how the crops were growing while enjoying the beautiful sunsets as he did his last time out. He enjoyed playing cards and would travel many miles to do so, and as he was not a church going man, the cards were his bible. Lloyd’s other love was family reunions where he had the opportunity to renew friendships and play horseshoes for a chance at winning the coveted trophy (which he won once or twice). In his later years he loved to drive taxi in Gull Lake, SK. The one thing you could always count on was that he would always help out regardless of the miles between him.
Lloyd is survived by his wife and best friend Edna of 37 years; sons, Doug of Vancouver, BC, Orvill of Winnipeg, MB, Ian of Swift Current, SK, and Darren of Dawson Creek, BC; daughters, Wanda of Regina, SK, Carla of Kamloops, BC, and Julie of Vancouver, BC, and their spouses; 11 grandchildren; two great grandsons; sister Elvina (John) Sloan of Hazlet, SK; brother Jim (Pat) of Winfield, AB; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lloyd was very proud of all of their accomplishments.
He is predeceased by his parents Albert and Grace; brothers Edwin in 2005, Ronnie in 1999, and Allen in 2013; two sister-in-laws; a nephew Brian age 8 years; and a great nephew Bradley age 5 years.
We are glad his pain was short and he left us HIS way. Lovingly remembered and greatly missed by all his family and friends.
As Lloyd had requested, no service will be held. There will be a come and go tea held from the Gull Lake Seniors Hall on Saturday April 5, 2014 from 2pm until 4 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sandra Schmirller Foundation which provides care for pre-mature and critically ill newborns.

Marjorie Herring
HERRING: Marjorie of Gull Lake and formerly of Verlo, SK, passed away on Wednesday April 9, 2014 in Gull Lake, SK. The Memorial Service was held on April 14, 2014 from First United Church in Swift Current, SK with Reverend Sharon Ferguson-Hood and Carola Anderson officiating. The Interment Service will be held at Verlo Cemetery at a later date. The eulogy was read by Don Lien and Jessie Huber, and honorary pallbearers were everyone who shared in Marjories life. Marjorie is survived by her children, Cindy (Abe), Delores (Brian), Doug (Elaine), Peggy, Rodger (Roxy); grandchildren and great grandchildren, Daryl (Cheryl), Sabre (Sonny), Ross, Angus, Max, Ara, Tracy, Austin, Ryan (Robin), Emery (Erin), Kaelen, Kyran, Hunter, Hudson, Jorney, Amanda, Zander, Nadia (Chris), Jayce, Ryhse, Jessie, Avery, Dylan (Samantha), Sam (April), Summer, Lily, Dire (Sadie), Jason (Mandy), Rachel, Molly, Flaynne, Falanne, and Kassie; 11 sisters; two brothers; uncle Jim; and aunties Margret and Anne; as well as numerous neices, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her husband Floyd in 1994; son-in-law Brian in 2014; parents; grand parents; parents-in-law; sisters-in-law; three brothers; brothers-in-law; and nephews. Mom and dad were married in Medicine Hat, AB in 1956, they lived in Beverly, SK and then moved to Verlo, SK. They resided in Verlo untill Floyd's passing in 1994. Mom spent her younger years raising her children, and quite a few extras, there was always room for one more at the table. The coffee pot was always on. Mom liked to bake all sorts of goodies for her family and visitors, I don't think mom and dad really ever got quiet time, there were always kids, cats, dogs and horses, and having all the kids especially in the spring; we would spend weeks getting our rafts built so we could all go in the slough rafting and getting soaked, boots and all. Mom loved her flowers and humming birds but while living on the farm she didn't have much chance to grow flowers, if the kids and grandkids weren't picking them the collie dogs would be digging up the flowers. Mom moved to Maple Creek, SK and was able to have her beautiful flower beds and she grew all sorts of beautiful flowers. Mom loved spending time in the company of kids, and when she lived in Maple Creek, mom had a home day care so she gathered many more children to her flock. Mom loved to read, and write poems, especially for her family, and to dance, mom and dad danced many miles together throughout their lives. Mom resided in the Gull Lake Special Care Home from December 2013 untill her passing. In lieu of flowers donations to the Gull Lake Special Care Center would be appreciated by the family. Joseph Budd
Budd: Joseph Allen Budd, age 35, of Grande Prairie AB, recently moved and joined the Hazlet community, passed away July 3, 2015 in Hazlet, Sk. The Memorial Service was held at 2:00 pm Thursday, July 9, 2015 from the Hazlet Community Hall with Elaine Little officiating. The Life Tribute was presented by Jaime Harvey and Krysta Budd. Honorary Pallbearers were all who shared in his life. Joe is survived by his parents, Jo-Anne and Blaine Budd; son Tyler Budd; his sisters Jamie (Aaron) Harvey (Budd) and Krysta Budd; his grandma MIldred Eadie and numerous aunt, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandpa James Eadie; Grandpa Alvin Budd; Grandma Margaret Budd, his uncle John Eadie, and uncle Jim Eadie. Joe was born on January 12, 1980 in Grande Prairie, AB. He attended school at Terry Fox High School in Port Coquillam, B.C. and then began work as a computer technician. He was a member of the Hinton Kinsmen Club and Magic The Gathering. Joe enjoyed computers, magic, games gardening and building stuff, he was great with his hands and built table and cupboards. Isabelle Davis
Davis: Isabelle Iris (Ferguson) Davis, age 78, of Kyle, lost her battle with cancer and passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at the Kyle Health Centre with her daughter by her side. The memorial service was held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from the Clearwater Cemetery with Shirley Wilson officiating. Honorary pallbearers were all who shared in her life. Isabelle is survived by her 4 children, Stanley, Denise Kelk (Ken), Steven, Wesley (Wendy), 2 grandchildren, Christopher Davis (Jaclyn), Robin Kelk (Jesse Houston) and 3 great-grandchildren, Brady, Lauryn, and Emilee Davis, 2 brothers, Donald Jr. of Kyle and Neil of Kelowna, B.C., 2 sisters, Margaret Fuller of Swift Current and Eda Hovland of Kyle and many nieces and nephews. Isabelle was predeceased by her parents, Donald Sr. on May 2, 1966 and Viola on March 6, 1987, and her husband Clarence (Red) on December 5, 1983. Isabelle was born at Tuberose, Sk. on January 11, 1937. Her parents resided in the Horse Butte district where her mother taught school. She attended the Horse Butte School until grade 5 and then travelled with her mother and younger brother Neil to various teaching locations until she finished school. She returned to Kyle after finishing school and became employed as a housekeeper until she married Clarence Davis on October 21, 1957 and started her family. In 1971, Red found work at a pulp mill and the family relocated to Prince Rupert, B.C. Isabelle was employed as a housekeeper at a motel until 1975 when a union strike at the pulp mill prompted a move back to Kyle. Upon returning in 1975, Isabelle worked at the Kyle Hotel and in 1989 began working part time at the Kyle Health Centre in the dietary and laundry departments. After leaving the Hotel in 1998, she worked full-time at the Health Centre until her retirement in 2002. Throughout her retirement, Isabelle enjoyed spending more time with her family, getting lots of hugs from her great-grandchildren, travelling to places she had always wanted to visit, and volunteer work with the Communities in Bloom Committee and at the Thrift Store in Kyle. Isabelle will be remembered as a sincere, quiet, caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend who thought of others before herself.
