EILEEN WILLIAMSON

Eileen Williamson of Moose Jaw, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 22, 2003 at the age of 75 years. Eileen was born in Quill Lake on April 22, 1928 and was raised and educated in Moose Jaw. She married Keith Williamson on June 19, 1948 in Moose Jaw. Eileen put her family first and when they were grown, worked part-time at the Army & Navy Department Store. She was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church and a long time member of the I.O.D.E. Eileen’s life revolved around her family. Her granddaughters, Morganne and Madison brought her great joy. She loved to watch them dance and took great pride in hearing about their accomplishments. She loved her role as grandmother and Morganne and Madison have been blessed because she was a part of their lives. Predeceased by her parents, Sam and Ada Coulter; and sisters, Joyce and Darlene. Eileen is survived by her husband, Keith; sons, Ross (Debbie) of Calgary; and Scott (Karen Dixon) and his daughters, Morganne and Madison of Moose Jaw; special life-long friend, Shirley Payne; her nieces and nephews. The Service of Remembrance will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel on Thursday, November 27, 2003 at 1:30 pm. Reverend Derek Nicholls will officiate. Memorialization will take place at Prairie Memorial Columbarium at a later date. Memorials to the Saskatchewan Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes Association, or a charity of choice would be appreciated. In living memory of Eileen, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

COLIN CAMPBELL

Colin Campbell of Moose Jaw, passed away September 27, 2010 following a lengthy illness. Colin was born in 1943, and raised in the Cardross district. He is predeceased by his parents, Roy and Agnes Campbell, mother and father-in-law Chet and Audrey Fishley, and brother-in-law Maurice Carnie. Colin is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carol; sons Rick – Moose Jaw, and Todd (Joanna Smith) - Calgary; and precious granddaughters Jessica, Grace, and Ellie, his love for them was indescribable; also survived by brothers and sisters: Albert (Sandy) Campbell, Charlie (Elaine) Campbell, Ruth Brown, Mary Carnie, and brothers-in-law, Terry (Jodi) Fishley, and Ray (Rita) Fishley, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Colin farmed at Bethune for 10 years, moving to Moose Jaw in 1976. He worked at various implement dealers as a salesman. Colin loved music and went on the road with his band, “The Country Outcasts” where he played from BC to Ont. Fourteen years ago he started his own ceiling cleaning business “Vanish Cleaners”. Colin loved children and spent time with his sons coaching many of their hockey and baseball teams. He also loved animals and enjoyed many trail rides. In 1982 Colin ran in the election for W.W.C. He was a loving father and a good friend, and if you ever needed help, he was the first to volunteer. A Celebration of Colin’s life will be held at the Eagles Club on Friday October 1, 2010 at 2:00 pm. Reverend Bill Luther will officiate. Interment will take place at a later time. Memorials to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 455 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, S6H 1H3, would be appreciated. In living memory of Colin, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

CECILE MORIN

Cecile J. Morin (nee Fortin) of Moose Jaw passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 25, 2007. Born February 12, 1942 to Alex and Yvette Fortin, she is the youngest of nine (9) children: Auxilien, Alexcina, Fernand, Jeanine, Romeo, Irene, Gerard, Gilbert. Predeceased by her father Alex Fortin and mother Yvette Fortin (nee Michel) and brother Auxilien. Cecile grew up and lived most of her life in the Gravelbourg district. Many will remember Cecile for her active participation and interest in music and gardening. She had a passionate devotion to her family and friends with a strong commitment to her faith along with a set of basic values and caring for others that has always made her a strong and positive role model for everyone in her life. Cecile is survived by her husband Fernand Morin; children, Camille and Adreinne Morin, Michelle and Richard Collins, Francois and Karla Morin, Suzanne and Ian Tiffin, Ronald and Tracy Morin; grandchildren, Megan, Cole, Alex, Anne-Marie, Keegan, Brian, Alishia, Melissa, Kane, Brock, Connor, Brendan, Madison, Sydney, Austin, Noah. Cecile leaves behind a legacy of family, friends and cherished memories. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, April 30, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1064 3rd Avenue N.W., Moose Jaw with Father Tony Sevali, officiating. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Prayer services and visitation will be held at 7:00 pm on Sunday April 29, 2007 at W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E, Moose Jaw. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St. W., Moose Jaw, S6H 2M2 or to a charity of your choice. In living memory of Cecile, a tree has been planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

JOSEPH "JOE' STREET

On Sunday January 21, 2007, Joseph Lorne Street passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Joe was born October 26, 1927. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years, Audrey; his children: Bob (Jackie); Gord (Pat); Ray (Tannis); and Brenda (Wayne) Zimmerman; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his father Victor, mother Ada and brother Bill. Joe was an avid sportsman who enjoyed many sports such as curling, hockey, baseball, hunting, and fishing. He grew up on a farm near Stony Beach, raised his family there and moved to Moose Jaw in 1974. While in Moose Jaw he worked for John Deere and drove school bus for many years. Joe was a long time member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles where he enjoyed many games of shuffleboard and pool. A Celebration of Joe’s Life will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Thursday January 25, 2007 at 1:00 pm. Linda Owens will officiate. Interment will take place at the Stony Beach Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St. W., Moose Jaw, S6H 2M2, would be appreciated. In living memory of Joe, a tree has been planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

ROBERT MacDONALD

ROBERT DAVID MacDONALD born in the Glen Bain district passed away peacefully at the Regina General Hospital June 21, after a lengthy illness. He farmed in Hazenmore, Glen Bain and St. Boswells districts for many years. He was united in marriage November 6, 1941 to Mildred Staeser. Last November they celebrated their 62nd year Anniversary. For many years Robert and Mildred worked together as cooks in the Vanguard Hospital, Densel Hotel and also for R. Smith and Company for nine years. Robert loved sports, especially hard and soft ball and was a great pitcher. He also took great interest in electronics, and at one time he built his own radio. Predeceased by his mother in 1975 and his father in 1961, he leaves to mourn his wife Mildred, a half sister in Nelson, B.C., one brother-in-law, Thomas Hallam and many nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be held in Sunset Cemetery on Monday, June 28, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. Reverend Frank Mitchell will officiate. Those wishing to attend may meet at the cemetery gates at 1:20 p.m. Memorials to the Saskatchewan Heart & Stroke Foundation, 2360-2nd Ave., Regina, S4R 1A6 would be appreciated. In living memory of Robert, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

EDITH SCOTT

MRS. EDITH SCOTT, age 91 of Moose Jaw passed away peacefully with family by her side on December 19, 2009, just nine days short of her 92nd birthday. Predeceased by her parents, her husband Ronald “Mike” and son Larry. Edith is survived by her daughter Jean (Terry) McRorie – Calgary and four precious grandchildren: William (Julie) McRorie – Calgary; Kyla McRorie (Derek O’Rourke) – Victoria, Kelly Scott and Daniel Scott – both of Kelowna, one sister Jean (Robert) Stevenin – Moose Jaw, special niece Joanne Mortenson - Saskatoon, and great nieces Stacey and Lindsey Mortenson - Saskatoon. In keeping with Edith’s request, a private family service will be held at a later date. Memorialization will take place at Prairie Memorial Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St. W., Moose Jaw, S6H 2M2. In living memory of Edith, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

DAISY P. DOIG

DAISY PRISCILLA DOIG of Moose Jaw passed away on December 7, 2003 at the age of 81 years after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on December 11, 1921 to Daisy and Phil Smith of Parkbeg where she grew up and received her education in Remount and Parkbeg districts. In 1943 she married Archie Doig and they enjoyed 58 years together. They resided in Regina until 1945 at which time they moved to the Doig family farm in the Holyrood district. In 1958 they moved to Mortlach but still farmed until 2002. During these years Daisy was a member of the Gloom Chasers, Mortlach United Church, Mortlach Seniors and Tops Club. She was predeceased by her husband, Archie in 2000, her parents, Daisy and Phil Smith, mother and father-in-law, Agnes and Jim Doig; brothers and sisters-in-law: Veron Bickford, David and Dorothy Doig and May Lawson. Daisy is survived by five children: Phyllis (Alvin) Wolf, Bonnie (Russel) Ward, Dan Doig, Beverly (Eugene) Cossette, Susan (Dale) Newsham; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law: Gordon and Marg Smith, Grace Bickford and Jim Lawson. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Della Ferguson will officiate. Interment will take place at Mortlach Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday evening 7-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Memorials for the Mortlach United Church would be gratefully accepted. In living memory of Daisy, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
