On April 14, 2009 Velma McCrea passed away after a valiant struggle. She was sustained in her passing by her children, Marilyn McCrea, Judy Julseth (Gary), Richard McCrea (Nancy), and Brenda McCrea; niece Arlene Cupples and nephew Wayne Anthony. She is survived as well by her sister-in-law Kate Whiteman (Adrian), brother-in-law, Eric McCrea, son-in-law Gary Patterson (Evelyn); and beloved grandchildren, Scott Patterson (Carrie), Jennifer Dickie (Jeff), Kevan Julseth (Carmen), Brian Julseth (Cherise), Shane Julseth, Jodi McCrea, and Erin McCrea. Great grandchildren, Ashlie (Dale), Cassandra, Samantha, William, Kiarra, Alyssa, Destiny, Tegan, Isaac, Nathaniel, Jaden, Taylor, Autumn, Caleb, Dakota, and great-great granddaughter Natalie. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Velma was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert McCrea, parents Richard and Margaret Anthony, her sisters, Madeline Tetreau, and brother-in-law Alex; Florence Cupples and brother-in-law Jim; and brothers, Richard; Harold and sister-in-law Jean; Lorne and sister-in-law Muriel. A Celebration of Velma’s life will be held at Minto United Church on Monday April 20, 2009 at 1:30 pm. Reverend John Carley will officiate. Memorialization will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in her name to the Palliative Care Program of the Five Hills Health District, 455 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, S6H 1H3, or to the Sask. MEL BATHGATE
Mr. Melvin Bathgate of Moose Jaw, and formerly of Tugaske, passed away on Saturday March 21, 2009 at the age of 76. Predeceased by his parents, Leland and Bertha Bathgate, and his brother Lyle, Mel is survived by his wife Ruth; three sons: Richard (Lorelei), Barry (Karen), and Alan; four grandchildren, Leland, Leah, Chelsea, and Ryan; and one great-grandchild Tyler. In keeping with Mel’s wishes, Cremation will take place with Memorialization to follow at Sunset Cemetery at a later date. A private family service will be held. Memorials to Providence Place, Alzheimer’s Ward, 100 2nd Ave. N.E., Moose Jaw, S6H 1B8, would be appreciated. In living memory of Mel, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. AUDREY RING
AUDREY ELEANOR McDONALD RING passed away on June 7, 2009 following a long illness. She was born on October 14, 1926 in Moose Jaw and raised here. Audrey was predeceased by her husband, Cecil. She is survived by her children, Brian Ring – Winnipeg, Manitoba and Laurienne and her husband Dale Clark – Alcove, Quebec; her grandchildren, Daniel Clark – Toronto and Sarah Clark Morgan – Toronto; her sister, Hilda McDonald – Saskatoon and brother-in-law, Lloyd Ring and his wife, Gwen – Moose Jaw, as well as her nieces. Funeral Services will be held at St. Aidan Anglican Church, 124 First Ave. N.E., on Friday, June 12, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. Reverend Allen Doerksen will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Allan-Blair Memorial Clinic, 4101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, S4T 1A5 or the St. Aidan Anglican Church Building Fund. EARL MUNN
Earl Munn passed away quietly with his family by his side on February 11, 2004 at the age of 88 years. Earl was born on the family farm in the Blue Hill district on November 20, 1915. He married Clara Hill of Briercrest in 1940 and they continued to farm with his father until 1942. He is predeceased by his parents, three sisters, two brothers, and his wife Clara in 2002. Earl is survived by his only daughter, Betty (Roy) Gulash - Moose Jaw; grandchildren, Roger (Tara) Gulash – Spruce Grove, AB; Rhonda Gulash and her son Matthew – Moose Jaw; Garry (Cheryl) Gulash and their children Michael, Shelby, Gavin and Sydney – Davenport, Iowa; and sister, Vera Leugner – Moose Jaw. In keeping with Earl’s wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date. Following cremation, memorialization will take place at the Blue Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Sask. Heart & Stroke Foundation, 2360 2nd Ave., Regina, S4R 1A6, would be appreciated. In living memory of Earl, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. ALMA EASTERBY
Alma Easterby of Moose Jaw passed away October 5, 2010 at the age of 85. At Alma’s request, there will be no funeral service. Alma will be laid to rest beside her husband Eugene Easterby at Rosedale Cemetery. She will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends. In living memory of Alma, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
ANNIE GIRBAV
Annie Girbav of Moose Jaw passed away on February 12, 2007 at the age of 90 years. Annie was born in Hamilton, Ontario to parents Arthur and Subin Blahovich. In keeping with Annie's wishes there will be no Funeral services. Cremation has taken place and Memorialization will take place at Prairie Memorial Columbarium at a later date.
VIRGINIA SULLIVAN
Virginia Martha Sullivan (nee Jackson) passed away at home on April 8, 2008, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Virginia was born to Jim and Sarah Jackson on the family farm at Cardross, SK on December 21, 1922. She attended High School at A.E. Peacock in Moose Jaw and after graduating Virginia worked for a short time at Robin Hood Flour Mills. In 1946 she met and married Jim Sullivan on July 4. They had two sons, Jim and Bill. Virginia had a great love for flowers and enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She loved spending time with her family and was especially proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Virginia loved to travel and enjoyed her many trips to various destinations. She is predeceased by her parents, brothers Cedric and David, sisters Flo and Marie, husband Jim and son Bill. She leaves to mourn son, Jim (Maureen) – Moose Jaw; grandchildren: Troy (Michelle) Gall – Brooks, AB, Jennifer Sullivan (Conrade Theriault) – Moose Jaw, and John Sullivan – Moose Jaw; great-grandchildren: Patrick and Jarod Gall, Makayla Mauro, Madison Reeves, and Jaxson Theriault; special friend Alice Smith of Ste.Anne, MB; brother Charlie (Marie) Jackson – Antigonish, NS; sisters Rhoda Campbell – Gibson, BC, and Ruth (Frank) Drew – 100 Mile House, BC; sister-in-law Jean Jackson – Moose Jaw; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Honouring Virginia’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. Visitation for family and friends will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home on Saturday April 12, 2008 from 7 – 9 pm. A Memorial Tea to Celebrate Virginia’s life will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Family Centre on Saturday May 17, 2008 from 2 – 4 pm. Private Memorialization will take place at Sunset Cemetery. MURIEL ADELLE GUSA
Muriel Adelle Gusa (Glazebrook) began her turn on Earth at Biggar, Sk.on June 25, 1944. Her earthly mission concluded at Moose Jaw, Sk.on January 21, 2010. Adelle will always be remembered as a wonderful wife, the loving mother of six, and at the time of her passing over, the proud grandmother of six. Adelle was predeceased by her goodly parents John and Kathleen Glazebrook. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 41 years, Robert; her children and grandchildren: Bobbi (Scott), Sierra, Katie Lalumiere of Courtenay, BC; David (Shelley) of Phoenix, AZ; Devin (Ronda), Eden, Kaden, Karver; Steven; Douglas (Trish); Matthew (Holly), Mikayla all of Moose Jaw; her siblings Sherron (Stan) Marshall of Edmonton, AB; Jackie (Doug) Greep of Campbell River, BC; and several nieces and nephews. The Celebration of Adelle’s life will take place at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, on Saturday January 30, 2010 at 1:30 pm. Bishop Gerald Miller will officiate. Memorialization will take place at Prairie Memorial Columbarium. Adelle was an instructor in cosmetology at the Marvel Beauty School in Saskatoon. She then became a homemaker until her youngest child began school. Adelle returned to work instructing at the Artistique Beauty College in Moose Jaw. She finished her working career as a Residential Supervisor for Citizen's All Association. Adelle loved working with people and she loved and respected all those who she met on her life's journey. She will be missed by all who new her. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
