After a valiant and more than twenty-year battle with MS, Terrance Bazil McDonough (64) passed away peacefully, surrounded by all his children. Terry will be lovingly remembered by his kids, Janice (Ron), Rick, Sean (Trudy), Pat (Duane) Vercammen, T.J. (Tina) and Kelly (Corey) Handel, grandchildren, Lee (Sandra), J.J. Dryburgh, Chritsopher, Jaclyn Dryburgh, Tyler and Chantelle Vercammen, Cassidy and Carson Handel, and Keith, and a great-grandson, Davin Dryburgh. He is also survived by his mother Winifred McDonough of Moose Jaw; brothers: Lawrence (Shirley) of Victoria, BC, James (Anna Marie) of Ottawa, ON and Kenneth (Edie) of Saskatoon, SK, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Terry was predeceased by his father James in 1984 and brother Edward in 1935. A Celebration of Terry’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. in the Rosedale Cemetery Chapel, (Prairie Memorial Crematorium), Moose Jaw. Reverend Father Gerry Bauche will officiate. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, 150 Albert St., Regina, Sask., S4R 2N2. LOUIS ROLAND PROULX
Louis Roland Proulx passed away peacefully in his home on June 5, 2010 in Rouleau, Sask. Louis is survived by his wife Shirley of 44 years, three daughters Dorrie (Colin), Leah (Keith), Kelly (Andy) and his two grandchildren Amy and Matt. Louis is also survived by special Aunt Anne Taylor, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, 11 nephews, 6 nieces and numerous great friends. A Memorial Tea will be held Friday, June 11, 2010 at the Rouleau Town Hall from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Rouleau First Responders. ADA EVANS
Mrs. Ada Mary Evans (nee McDermott) of Moose Jaw passed away suddenly on Monday February 4, 2008, at the age of 81 years. Ada is predeceased by her husband Frank of nearly 50 years, brother Fred, sister-in-law Florence, brother-in-law Ray, and son-in-law Tim. She is survived by her sister Anny Voyer and family; daughter Mary Ellen (Mare) Renner, granddaughter Kelly Renner, grandson Michael (Tammy) Renner, and great-grandchildren Alyssa and Steven; son Frank (Vicki) Evans, grandson Jamie Evans (Trudy), granddaughter Angela (Pat) Hart, and great-grandson Kylan. She also leaves behind many loving friends and other relatives. A gathering to celebrate Ada’s life will be held at W.J. Jones & Son Chapel on Monday February 11, 2008 at 1:00 pm. Father Job Addai C.S.Sp will be the Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorials gifts may be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St. W., Moose Jaw, S6H 2M2. WINNIFRED WALKER
WINNIFRED ANN WALKER of Moose Jaw passed away peacefully on February 24, 2007. Winnifred was a loving, kind and thoughtful lady – always volunteering her help. She was a member of St. George’s Anglican Church for over seventy years and served as President of the Ladies Auxiliary for many of those years. Winnifred was an avid reader, loved the challenge of a crossword puzzle, enjoyed music, and was enthralled with the beauty of flowers. Her greatest love was spending time with her family and enjoying a good cup of tea. Predeceased by her husband, Donald – 1983, four brothers and one sister, she is survived by daughter, Patricia (Robin) Bannister – Victoria; sons: Robert (Colleen) – Kingston and Gordon (Janet) – Edmonton; grandchildren: Terry, Robert (Sharon) Bannister, Sherry (Kevin) Little – all of Victoria and Kimothy Walker – Ottawa; great-grandchildren: Matthew, Scott and Brandon – Victoria, and Kyra – Ottawa, one sister, Irene Ducheminski – New Westminster and special nephew, Darryl Walker – Moose Jaw, as well as many other dear relatives and friends. Following a private family graveside service and interment of cremated remains, A Celebration of Winnifred’s Life will be held at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw on Friday, March 2, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Allen Doerksen will officiate. LESLIE ROSS
It is with sadness that we announce the death of Leslie Mackay Ross of Moose Jaw on May 17, 2009 whose tranquil passing befitted a man loved and respected for his gentle spirit, compassion, forbearance and steadfastness. Born to Gertrude and George Ross on July 25, 1917, Les embraced farm life and until recently, lived on the family homestead where he raised his family and exemplified the kind-heartedness, generosity and neighborliness for which the prairie farmer is legendary. In 1989, Les and Isabelle were honoured by the Moose Jaw Agricultural Society as Farmer of the Year. Predeceased by his parents, Leslie is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years Isabelle; sons: Murray (Judy) – Parksville, B.C., Gordon (Connie) – Moose Jaw, Donald (Jackie) - Regina, and Michael Ross – Moose Jaw and daughter, Barbara (Doug Schmidt) - Craven. Left to mourn are his grandchildren: Sarah, David, Jason (Lindsey), Jody (Troy) Setter, Ryan (Denise) Schmidt, Tara (Aaron) Schweitzer; Greg (Nicole) Schmidt, Riley (Stefanie) Schmidt, Krystal (Trevor) Kutsak, Tim (Jeanne), Daniel, Jay (Carrie), and Kristie Ross. Leslie is also survived by great-grandchildren Emily, Gracie, Macey, Brady, Abbey, Zachary, Reid, Avery and Atley; his brother, Harvey (Shirley) Regina; as well as many nieces and nephews. Les will be remembered as a quiet, kind man who gave unselfishly to his family and his community. He will be missed. A private family service will be held. Reverend John Carley will officiate. Interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery. For those so wishing, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. JESSIE DAVIES
Jessie Davies (nee Gillan) passed away on April 7, 2008. Jessie was first born to Joseph and Margaret Gillan on March 12, 1914 in Moose Jaw, SK. She received her public school education at King Edward and after graduating high school at Central Collegiate she trained as a nurse. She met her future husband Roy Davies in Moose Jaw and they were married in Maple Creek. They had three sons (Robert, David and Glenn) and one daughter (Mary Lou). She was especially proud of her family and loved to bake, sew, knit, read, travel and garden. Jessie was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Margaret, husband Roy, brother George, sister Margaret and son Robert. She leaves to mourn her son David (Marsha), Orillia, ON; daughter Mary Lou Statham (Ray), North Vancouver, BC; son Glenn (Donna), Moose Jaw, SK; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 25, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, Moose Jaw. Reverend David Moore will officiate. Interment will follow at the Moose Jaw Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, c/o 455 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1H3. ELSIE PRICE
On February 27, 2010 Elsie E. Price passed away peacefully. Elsie was born to Paul and Hilda Juhnke on June 20, 1918 at home on a farm in the Eildon School District, just north of Tugaske, SK. In October 1938 Elsie married David L. Price. They had two children, Elizabeth and David. In 1967 Elsie moved from the farm into Tugaske where she became active in the United Church, UCW, and the Senior Center. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Davie, two sisters Doris and Iris, and youngest brother Murray. Elsie is survived by three sisters: Jeannette Cole – Regina, SK, Ruby King – Lynwood, WA, and Pearl Brown – Kelowna, BC; brother David (Mildred) Juhnke - Pinawa, MB; daughter Liz (Greg) McCormack – Houston, TX; son David P. (Lorna) Price – Sexsmith, AB; God-daughter Barb Therrien – Steinbach, MB; and sister-in-law Fran Juhnke; five grandchildren: Tracey (Brannon) Hershey – Spring, TX; Coralee (Curtis) Flug – Burleson, TX; David B. (Lorna) Price – Spruce Grove, AB; Candice (Norman) Gamez – Calgary, AB; Cody Price – Grand Prairie, AB; and eight great-grandchildren, Ryan and Casey Hershey, Nicolaus and Amelia Flug, Natasha and Erin Price, and Mia and Ela Gamez; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The Funeral Service will be held at the Tugaske Hall, Friday March 12, 2010 at 2:00 pm, with burial for eternal rest to follow in the Price family plot in the Tugaske Cemetery.
