Junior Benjamin Seaberly passed away peacefully at Providence Place on Thursday August 16, 2007 at the age of 84 years. Born March 31, 1923 in Long Beach, California, Dad was raised in Kankakee, Illinois and at the age of 17 moved to Canada to farm in the Pense and Belle Plaine areas. His love of cooking lead him to open his own drive-through restaurant called “Junior’s Chicken Fry” situated along Highway #1. After closing the restaurant he continued to farm and raise hogs until his retirement to Moose Jaw. Junior loved to fish and play cards, and was always full of fun and humour. He is predeceased by his parents Frank and Ethel, and his brother Kenneth. Junior is survived by his children: Frank (Anne), Raymond (Lisa), Susan Waddell, Donna (Doug) Ayres, and DeeDee (Randy) Wilkinson; nine grandchildren, and one great-grandson; his sister, Betty Ruebensam, and many nieces and nephews. Dad was blessed to have a special care giver, Audra, who spent many hours with him at Providence Place. Thanks to the Providence Place staff for all their care. A private graveside service will be held at Sunset Cemetery. Memorials to the Alzheimer Association, #301 – 2550 12th Ave., Regina, S4P 3X1, would be appreciated. Mrs. Margaret Beverley Fortin, age 65, of Herbert, SK, passed away with her husband by her side on Monday August 13, 2007 at the Herbert Integrated Health Care Facility. She is predeceased by her parents. Bev will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Ed; daughters, Lynn and Cathy; step-daughter, Laura; and step-sons, Nick and Don; two sisters, Lynn and Cathy, as well as 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In keeping with Bev’s wishes, a private family celebration will take place at a later time. In living memory of Bev, a tree will be planted by Prairie Memorial Funeral Home, Chaplin.

June passed away peacefully at Pioneer Lodge with family by her side. Born at Gladstone, Ill, USA, she moved with her family to Canada in 1910. June was predeceased by her parents, Milt and Maude Brooks, her husband of sixty-one years, John H. Ruehs, and all of her eight brothers and sisters and in-laws. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 2p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel. Della Ferguson will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 455 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, S6H 1H3 or to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated. WILLIAM FERRIS “BILL” TAYLOR of Moose Jaw passed away peacefully on May 27, 2009 two weeks before his 88th birthday. Bill was born in Moose Jaw in 1921. When he was a child, his family moved to Hodgeville, SK, but moved back to Moose Jaw a few years later, where he resided for the rest of his life. Bill was involved in the Boy Scout movement for many years. As a young man, he worked at Prairie Airways, W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home, Eaton’s, various hardware stores, and the Army & Navy Department Store. He became a Canada Post Letter Carrier in 1950, where he worked until his retirement in December 1979. Bill was always very community minded and sat on the Boards of various organizations and church camps. Music played a large part in his life. Bill played “fiddle” with several local music groups and one of his greatest contributions for the city was when he developed the “Concerts in the Park”, which continue to this day every Wednesday evening in Crescent Park during the summer months. Predeceased by his parents William and Maude Taylor, sister and brother-in-law Alice and Frank Lowe, Bill will be sadly missed by his wife Laura, his children: Bill Taylor (Val), Connie (Ken) Bradley, Fay (Garth) Neff, Barry (Joyce) Taylor and Wendy (Gary) Heistad; his grandchildren: Barbara Taman, Richard Taylor, Dean Taylor (Chelsea), Travis Neff, Shanin Neff, Greg Bradley, Mark Bradley and Matthew Taylor (Kim); as well as many great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel on Saturday May 30, 2009 at 1:30 pm, with Dave Moore officiating. For those so wishing, memorial donations in Bill’s memory may be directed to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 455 Fairford St. E. S6H 1H3. Mrs. Betty Gardiner, age 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday May 28, 2009. Betty was born and educated in Moose Jaw. She married Oliver Gardiner in 1957 and they lived in Regina for a time before settling in Moose Jaw. Predeceased by her parents Henry & Katie Brown, her husband Oliver, brother Charles (Lad), sister Kay, brother-in-law Russ, sister-in-law Doris, and nephew-in-law Bob Drake. Betty will be lovingly remembered by her nephew David (Bonnie) Brown and their children Tori (Mitch) and Kristen (Paul); nieces, Susan (Wayne) Johnston and their children Jeff and Stacy (Adam); Judy Drake and her children Whitney (Kevin) and Lindsay; along with great-great nieces and nephews, Rowan, Brayden, Drew, Abby and Parker. Following cremation, a Graveside Committal will be held at Rosedale Cemetery on Wednesday June 3, 2009 at 3:00 pm. Memorials in Betty's memory can be made to a charity of choice. Dorothy Kemp

Mrs. Dorothy Kemp (nee Cooper), age 86, of Moose Jaw, passed away on Saturday May 30, 2009 with her family by her side. Dorothy was born in the Keeler district. She married Lawrence Kemp in 1947 and they farmed and raised their family in Keeler. They later retired to Moose Jaw. Dorothy was active in many community groups including the UCW, and the “Grandmothers Club”. She enjoyed playing ball, square dancing, and in later years, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by son, Dr. Ray Kemp (Georgia), and daughters Janet Kawa and Joyce Kemp; five grandchildren, Steven and Cameron (Tobi) Kemp, Andrea (Rob) Lamont, Erin (Tyler) Delwisch, and Graeme Kawa; five great-grandchildren, Derek, Kennedy and Carson Delwisch, Carter and Blake Lamont; sister Betty Murray, twin brother Donald and brother Bud (Frances); numerous nieces and nephews; and will be especially missed by her puppy Daisy. She is predeceased by her loving husband Lawrence in 1988; sister Peggy (Neil) Forsyth, and brothers Clarence, Sidney (Dorothy), Roy, and George (Gren). The Funeral Service will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Wednesday June 3, 2009 at 1:30 pm. Reverend David Moore will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. It is with deep sadness that the family of Bernice Kraus announces her peaceful passing at Providence Place, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at the age of 97. Bernice was born on August 26, 1911 in Mazenod, Saskatchewan. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from the General Hospital, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in 1934. Bernice married the love of her life, Otto Kraus, on November 2, 1935. Bernice nursed for many years in Mossbank ending as Matron of the Hospital. She also nursed in Gravelbourg, Assiniboia and Bengough. Predeceased by her parents Walter & Betsy Sadlemyer and her sixteen siblings, husband Otto Kraus (50 years), daughter-in-law Lynn Kraus, son-in-law George Hicks and grandson Wesley Hicks. Survived by her daughters Dolores Hicks & Family, Fran (Lyle) Helland & Family, son Grant (Loretta) & Family. She leaves to mourn eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews scattered across the country. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice. In keeping with Bernice's wishes, a private family service will take place at Prairie Memorial Columbarium.
