FREDERICK CHARLES (FREDDY) STREVENS of Moose Jaw passed away Saturday, August 13, 2005 peacefully with his family by his side at Regina General Hospital. Dad was born in Moose Jaw on February 18, 1930 and grew up on a farm in the Marquis area. Fred married Doreen Anderson on November 21, 1952. They farmed for Charlie Anderson until 1964 when they moved to Harry Cannon’s farm. In 1966 they moved to Moose Jaw and started working for the PFRA. In 1990 Dad retired from the PFRA with 24 years of service. Dad had many interests over the years; farming, rodeos, Saskatchewan Roughriders and local baseball. His special interests included holding season tickets with the Moose Jaw Warriors and being a member of the Warriors Booster Club for 20 years selling many winning 50/50 tickets. Some of Fred’s other memorable events included the Saskatchewan Air Show and Snow Birds, missing only 2 shows out of 35 due to illness. Dad was predeceased by his wife, Doreen, parents, Nimshi John “Jack” and Gladys, brother, Vern, father-in-law, Gehard and mother-in-law, Eva. He will be missed by daughters: Evelyn (Mario) Doyle, Darlene (Kelvin) Catling – both of Moose Jaw; granddaughters: Yvonne Doyle (Chris Thompson) of Moose Jaw, Michelle Doyle (Burton Hoyt) of Lethbridge, Alicia Doyle of Saskatoon, and great-grandchildren: Toby and Chloe Thompson of Moose Jaw; his brother Albert (Pat) of Douglas, MB; one sister-in-law, Pearl (Bill) Bowley of Moose Jaw; one brother-in-law, Alfred (Minnie) Anderson of Grand Forks, BC; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 19, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel. Della Ferguson will officiate. Royal Canadian Legion Funeral Rites will be conducted at the Chapel by Stan Skrill, Moose Jaw Branch #59. Interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday evening, 7-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, for those so wishing, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 104, 2301 Avenue C North, Saskatoon, Sask., S7L 5Z5 or to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, 1 – 2217 Hanselman Crt., Saskatoon, Sask., S7L 9Z9. ROBERT BRENTNELL
ROBERT CLIFTON BRENTNELL passed away tragically November 14, 2003 at 56 years of age. Bob is survived by his parents, James and Bertie Brentnell, wife, Linda; sons: Gregory (Cheryl) and Christopher (Alysha), daughter, Heather, six grandchildren and brother, Dennis (Anne), as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Following cremation, A Graveside Service for family and friends will take place at Rosedale Cemetery on Tuesday, November 18, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. Reverend Peter J. Calhoun will officiate. JESSIE WILDER
Jessie Wilder passed away on June 21, 2007. Mom passed away in her sleep, at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital. Jessie was born on August 30, 1918 in Moose Jaw. She went to school at Brooksfield School. Jessie later married Irvin Wilder and they raised a family of five sons. Predeceased by her parents, one sister and her husband, Jessie is survived by sons: Doug (Terry), Ken (Kathy), Floyd (Millie), Bob (Carol), and Cliff (Elaine); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. At Jessie’s request, there will be no service. For those so wishing, memorials to Pioneer’s Lodge, 1000 Albert St., Moose Jaw, S6H 2Y2, would be appreciated. ETHEL ROACH
With great sadness the family of a dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother announce the passing of Ethel Roach on April 11, 2003 at the age of 90 years. Ethel was born March 13, 1913 in Manitoba. She grew up with her large family in Craik, Sask. Ethel taught school at various locations in Sask. before retiring after 42 years of service. She was a member of the Eastern Star, ACT, Minto United Church, and Timothy Eaton Senior Centre. Everyone who knew Ethel and Mel knew they loved dancing and entertaining people of all ages, anytime. Ethel also enjoyed bingo, card games and visiting. Those who knew her will recall how precise she was about her appearance. Predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years, Mel; grandson, Kirby Tollefson; two sisters and six brothers. Ethel is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Beverley (Blaine) Tollefson of Edmonton. Fondly remembered by grandchildren Tyler (Velma) Tollefson of Rosetown, Sk.; Kent (Kaye) Tollefson of Calgary; Rebecca Tollefson (fiancé Chris Stooshinoff) of Edmonton; three great-grandchildren: Ashley, Kelsey, and Madeline Tollefson. Ethel is also survived by sister, Margaret Torgerson of Saskatoon. Funeral Services will be held at Minto United Church 1036 Seventh Ave. N.W., on Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at 1:30 pm. Gary Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Visitation Monday evening 7 – 9 pm at W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home. Memorials to Minto United Church would be appreciated. MARC FRANKOW
Marc Frankow, resident of Valley View Centre since October 1961, passed away April 17, 2004 at the age of 47 years. Marc is survived by his parents, Michael and Odette Frankow – Swift Current; brother, Louis and friend Jennie Hastings – Medicine Hat, AB; sisters, Roberta Frankow – Didsbury, AB; Claudette-Jocelyn Frankow and friend Jim Bingham – Sittard, the Netherlands; (Coco) Collette and husband Miles Blust and Michael Jr. – Calgary, AB; and special cousins, Patricia (nee Besler) and husband JJ Brown and family; and Paul Besler. A Memorial Service will be held at the Valley View Assembly Hall, Moose Jaw, on Thursday April 22, 2004 at 1:30 pm. Stephanie Molloy of the Church of Our Lady will officiate. DEANNA McNEICE
DEANNA DAWN McNEICE (nee Ariss), born August 20, 1969, passed away February 20, 2005 with her family at her side after a courageous 3˝ year fight with cancer. Deanna was born, raised and educated in Moose Jaw where she has resided and worked her entire life. The love of her life was her husband and family. She leaves to celebrate her life, her husband, Todd and their children: Travis, Leah & Cayleigh; her Mom, Dolores and Dave Orr, and her Dad, Grant and Barb Ariss, brother, Darrel (June) and their children: Curtis & Kayla, sister, Wanda (Corey) and their children: Brody & Dalton, grandmother, Rolande Free, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Deanna was particularly fond of her pets and especially loved her little dog, “Rudy”. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Chester and Lina Ariss and infant brother, Chris. A Celebration of Deanna’s Life will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel. Della Ferguson will officiate. Memorialization will take place at a later date. For those so wishing, memorials may be made to Deanna & Todd’s Children’s Education Fund and can be left at the funeral home. LEE BROOKS
Mr. Lee Brooks of Crane Valley, Sask. passed away on November 6, 2005 at 89 years of age. Dad farmed all his life, his love of his farm and land was only surpassed by the love for his family. Predeceased by his wife, Joyce, he is survived by his daughter, Lynne (Jerry); sons: Neil (Vicki), Lyle, and Clay, as well as eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. As per Dad’s request there will be no funeral service. A Private Family Memorial will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, contributions may be made to Moose Jaw Diversified Services, 11 Wood Lily Drive, Moose Jaw, S6J 1H1.
