HAZEL DUNBAR, age 92 of Moose Jaw, passed away May 19, 2005. Hazel was predeceased in death by infant daughter, Marilyn Dunbar - 1943, husband, Jim – 1952; two brothers: Cecil Huffman – 1977 and Charles Huffman – 1987, great-grandson, Curtis Rucker – 1987 and granddaughter, Jennifer Jamison – 1996. She is survived by one sister, Flossie Dunbar of Moose Jaw; four children: Ken Dunbar of Iowa, Kathie Jamison of Missouri, Sharon Dunbar of Moose Jaw and Teri Kent of Alberta; six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 27, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at the Stadacona Gospel Chapel, 68 Stadacona St. W., Moose Jaw with Pastor John McCubbing officiating. Interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday evening, 7-9p.m. at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, family request donations to Stadacona Gospel Chapel or to the Saskatchewan Heart & Stroke Foundation. In living memory of Hazel, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

DOROTHY ZELDA SMITH, of Moose Jaw, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2003. Born January 6, 1915 in Parkbeg, Saskatchewan, she was predeceased by her parents, Durwood and Clara Castiday, husband, George Smith, son, George Smith, brother, Walter Castiday and a sister, Iva Johnson. Dorothy is survived by son, Bill (May) Smith, daughter, Clara Smith; ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and three sisters: Mildred Steele, Flossie Andrews and Verna Hughes. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Della Ferguson will officiate. Interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Extendicare Family Support Group, 1151 Coteau St. W., Moose Jaw, S6H 5G5. PHYLLIS HOFFOS
PHYLLIS JOAN HOFFOS, age 77 of Moose Jaw, passed away peacefully at Providence Place on Monday, January 27, 2003. Phyllis was born April 27, 1925 in LaFleche, Saskatchewan. She married Lloyd Hoffos August 19, 1945. She worked at the Royal Theatre, McLafferty Store, The Moose Jaw Winery and later with the Royal Canadian Legion. She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd, her mother, Ester Simonson, her brother, Roy and one sister, Beatrice. Phyllis is survived by her children, Jan (Pat) of Regina, Lynda (Jeff) Reid of Oshawa, Ont., Jay (Pam) of Grand Prairie, Alta., Lorie (Fred) Weber of Winnipeg, Man., and Lars (Geri) of Moose Jaw; one sister, Edith Walker of Vancouver, B.C.; twelve grandchildren, one great-granddaughter as well as many nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Pastor Dave Moore will officiate. CHRISTINA (CHRISSIE) J. WILKINSON passed away peacefully at Pioneer Lodge on June 28, 2005 at the age of 91 years. She was predeceased by her husband, John in 1980 and daughter-in-law, Helen in 1993. Chrissie is survived by her two sons: Eric (Marlene) of Marquis and Lyle (Cheryl) of Regina, one daughter, Eileen Mayo (Tom Urban) of Osage, Saskatchewan; grandchildren: Randy (De De), Rhonda (Sam), Michelle (John), Nicole (Chad), Natasha (Jeff) and Jacalyn (Jim); great-grandchildren: Shelby, Ashley, Melissa, Lindsay, Mason, Haley, McKenna, Caiden, Bryce, Brody, Tyler and Jesse as well as one sister, Lilias Topinka of Calgary. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Della Ferguson will officiate. MARGARET (MOODIE) HUNTER passed away May 29, 2004 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan at the age of 82 years. Born in September 1921, she was predeceased by her parents, brothers Bob, Allan and Doug, her beloved husband, Allan in 1992 and grandson, Michael in 1988. Margaret is survived by two sons: Doug (Terri) and Ken; daughters: Barbara (Ron) Schulz and Joann Hunter (Carman); seven grandchildren: Brenda Lee, Dawna Lee, Lori Anne, Jeff, Danielle, Stef and Jennifer; nine great-grandchildren: Justin, Sierra, Logan, Devin, Mason, Aiden, James, Maddie and Hanna; brothers: Donald and Jim; and sisters, Marion, Doris and Mildred; and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Margaret’s Life will be held at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, on Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Della Ferguson will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Memorials to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada, 104 – 10335, 172 St. N.W., Edmonton, Alberta, T5S 1K9 would be appreciated. BEV FORTIN
Mrs. Margaret Beverley Fortin, age 65, of Herbert, SK, passed away with her husband by her side on Monday August 13, 2007 at the Herbert Integrated Health Care Facility. She is predeceased by her parents. Bev will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Ed; daughters, Lynn and Cathy; step-daughter, Laura; and step-sons, Nick and Don; two sisters, Lynn and Cathy, as well as 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In keeping with Bev’s wishes, a private family celebration will take place at a later time. In living memory of Bev, a tree will be planted by Prairie Memorial Funeral Home, Chaplin.
JACQUELINE ADAMS
Jacqueline Ruth Alexandria Adams (Good) passed away January 19, 2007 after a brief illness. Jackie was born on March 1, 1938 in Moose Jaw and grew up on the family farm in the Mayberry District. In 1956 she married Jack Adams and a few years later they moved to Regina. Jackie loved all the wonderful aspects of nature and she and her husband spent all their free time camping, mostly at Buffalo Pound Lake. After the death of Jack in 1999, Jackie moved to Buffalo Pound Lake where she enjoyed her lovely view of the lake and all the animals that came to visit her. Although she was unable to speak in the last few years of her life, she greeted everyone with a warm, welcoming smile and a special “Jackie” wave. Jackie is predeceased by her parents, Earl and Ida Good; her infant brother, Herbert Good; and her nephew, Robert Ames; and husband, Jack Adams. She is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth (Charles) Ames, Audrey (Robert) Mantach; her very special nieces and nephews; her closet furry friend Taylor and all of her wonderful friends. A Service of Remembrance will be held at W.J. Jones and Son Chapel, Wednesday, January 24 at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Bill Thomson officiating. Memorialization will take place at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined, memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society or The Moose Jaw Humane Society would be appreciated.
