ANNA LORAINE HARRIS (nee: Mackay) passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior early on Monday morning, March 12, 2007. Born in Thorburn, N.S. on February 25, 1921, she came to Moose Jaw in 1956. Anna has been a member of the Stadacona Gospel Chapel since 1956. Her life revolved around her church and her family. She had a very kind and caring nature and a real gift for hospitality. Anna was Predeceased by her husband, Ed in 2002, she is lovingly remembered by her children: Mary, Don (Judy), Juanita (Norris), Sheila (Wilfred) and Wendy, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters: Thelma, Wilma and Harriet, several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Services will be held at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel on Monday, March 19, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. Pastor John McCubbing will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. For those so wishing, memorials can be made to the Gideon Bible Society of to the Stadacona Gospel Chapel Mission Fund. In living memory of Anna, a tree has been planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. ROLAND LINKERT
Roland Linkert passed away February 28, 2007 in Regency Manor Hospital, Central Butte. Roland was born on a homestead near Lakenheath June 23, 1920. His parents, Adam and Caroline Linkert moved to the Secretan district in 1927 to mix farm, along with offspring Anne, Rosalie, Roland, Margaret, Freda, and Adelia. Two additional children, William and Yvonne were born on the Farm. Roland was predeceased by his parents, siblings, Anne, Rosalie, Adelia (Dale), and William (Bill). A ‘True Man of the Soil', Roland dedicated his life to the agricultural community, remaining on the Farm until 2004. The Linkert farm was well respected, and Roland along with his brother Bill, actively farmed until 1996. In 2004 Roland moved to Iver Main Place, Central Butte, where he touched the lives of others young and old. Roland will be remembered by his surviving sisters, Margaret Babich - Moose Jaw, Freda Foster - Calgary, and Yvonne Tyler - Chaplin, as a brother who always supported them. Nieces and nephews will, with love and respect, always fondly refer to him as “Uncle Roland”. Many others will describe Roland as a humble man, true to his word, purposeful in his ways, keen of wit, and a man with a true understanding of nature’s cycles. A Memorial Service will take place at a later date. For those so wishing, memorial donations can be made directly to Iver Main Place Auxiliary, Box 550, Central Butte S0H 0T0. LYLAH ALM
It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Lylah Alm of Moose Jaw, on Tuesday February 5, 2008, with her family at her side. Lylah was born in Assiniboia, SK on August 8, 1917. She spent her childhood years in Scout Lake, SK, moving to Moose Jaw in 1935. In 1942 she married and began raising her daughter. Lylah enjoyed working at the PFRA and Public Health until her retirement in 1977. She then took great pleasure in travelling and spending time with her family. She was particularly proud of her daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Lylah is survived by her husband of 54 years, Orville Alm; daughter, Janet (Gene) Mykytiw; grandchildren, Chad (Renee) Coles, and Tanis (Derek) Hicks; great-grandchildren, Ainsley, Andon, Avery, and Brodie; sister Thelma Pilsner, and many nieces and nephews. Lylah is predeceased by her parents, Matt and Anna Field; sister Agnes Inverarity, her first husband Nicholaus Swiderek in 1948, nieces Diane and Audrey, and nephew Ron. Lylah’s joy for life and love for her family will be greatly missed. The Funeral Service will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Friday February 8, 2008 at 10:30 am. Reverend Doug Shepherd will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Memorials to Central Lutheran Church, or to a charity of choice, would be appreciated. MARION I. BEYEA
MARION I. BEYEA passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2004 at the age of 95 years. Survived by her daughter Doris (Doug) Vestner of Westbank, son-in-law John (Sheila) Rowand of Victoria, daughters-in-law, Lois Boyle of Moose Jaw and Gayle Jensen of White Rock, brother Andrew Phillips of England; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Sadly Marion was predeceased by her first husband Carl Jensen, second husband Charles Beyea, daughter Marjorie Rowand, son David Jensen and daughter Gladys Kearney. A Funeral Service was he held on Thursday, January 15, 2004 from the chapel of Springfield Funeral Home, Kelowna. A Funeral Service will be held in Moose Jaw from the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel on Monday, January 19, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. The Speakers will be Lloyd Kneesch and Jack Reddekopp. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation – Children’s Fund: 2268 Pandosy St., Kelowna, B.C., V1Y 1T2. MARY KRUGER
MARY KRUGER of Moose Jaw, passed away Monday, July 28, 2003, following a lengthy but courageous battle with cancer. Born December 28, 1924 in Expanse, Saskatchewan, she married Robert Kruger in 1945. The couple lived in the Reliance district before moving to Moose Jaw for fifteen years. They then returned to farm until the death of her husband in 1968 when Mary then returned to Moose Jaw. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Bob, son, Leonard, great-granddaughter, Angel and two brothers-in-law: Barrie Dowse and Jim Boothman. Mary is survived by her son, Gordon (Joan) of Mankota; grandsons: Darrin (Della) of Saskatoon, David (Connie) of Govan; great-granddaughters: Madisyn, Lexi and Kaitlyn; brothers: John (Lorraine) Hanson and Carl (Doris) Hanson; sisters: Jean (Orville) Nelson – all of Saskatoon, Lillian Boothman and Fern Dowse of Moose Jaw as well several nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Reverend John Kreutzwieser will officiate. Memorialization of cremated remains will take place at Sunset Cemetery. Army, Navy and Airforce Anavets Auxillary Rites will be conducted. BARRY DEXTER
Barry Dexter, age 78, of Moose Jaw, passed away on Thursday July 26, 2007. Barry was born in Moose Jaw and received his education at King George School and the Moose Jaw Technical High School. His life’s work was in construction, first with his father and later on his own. Predeceased by his parents, brother Jack, and nephew Grant Pascoe, Barry is survived by his sisters: Betty Pascoe, Marjorie Dexter, and Helen Gayhart. In keeping with Barry’s wishes, cremation will take place with a Graveside Service to be held at a later date. Memorials to the Franklin Dexter Bursary Fund, c/o Prairie South School Division, 115 Thatcher Drive E., Moose Jaw, S6J 1L8, or to the Salvation Army, 175 First Ave. NE., Moose Jaw, S6H 0Y9, would be appreciated. BERTHA "BERT" DYER
Bertha Barbara Dyer was born June 1, 1915 near Mossbank, SK. and passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at Extendicare, Moose Jaw. Bert is predeceased by her parents Lawrence and Bessie Dyer; brothers Lester (Helen) and Bill; sisters Ruth and Audrey (Rafe) Hartley. Bert leaves many cherished memories for her sister-in-law Roberta of Hanover, ON. and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Monday, September 22, 2003 at 1:30 pm. Reverend Cecil Glover will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
