richard Clarence Westgard born March 14, 1938, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side at home in Rouleau, on November 16, 2009, at the age of 71. Predeceased by his father Clarence Westgard. Left to cherish Richard’s memory are his wife, Loretta; daughter, Tana (Grant) McNutt; son, Dwayne (Carrie) Westgard, grandsons, Joshua (Lauren); Paul, Benjamin, Matthew McNutt; Tyson, Reece Westgard; mother, Nora Westgard; sister Bev (Larry) Newman; brother, LeRoy (Erin) Westgard; brothers and sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Richard’s life will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 15 Paul Drive, Moose Jaw, on Friday November 20, 2009 at 2:00 pm. Rev. John Kreutzwieser will officiate. Interment will be a private family service in Ormiston, SK at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on behalf of Richard to Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 455 Fairford Street E., Moose Jaw, S6H 1H3. DOUG BRUNSDON
Douglas Arthur Brunsdon was born in Moose Jaw on October 3, 1933 and passed away on April 2, 2005. He is predeceased by his wife, Helen (Irwin) who he married in 1958, and his brother Bert. He is survived by his only daughter, Melissa (Rob Garden), his two grandchildren, Jared and Jenna; his fiancee, Anne Chambers; his brother, Al of Swift Current and his sister, Marion of Victoria, BC. Doug was raised in Assiniboia and began his long time career and love for the railroad in 1951. He retired from Canadian Pacific Railway as a train dispatcher in 1987. Doug will be remembered for his love of nature, animals, birds and his community service work with the Shriners, the Masons, Wakamow Authority, the Canadian Club, Alderman for the Resort Village of South Lake, as well as numerous wildlife causes. Doug had a particular fondness for his cabin at Buffalo Pound Lake, his pets (Babe the dog), a good card game, reading and all the jokes he could absorb. He was a kind man, always ready to lend a helping hand. He loved to travel, but was happiest visiting with friends and family. The Funeral Service will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Thursday April 7, 2005 at 1:30 pm. Della Ferguson will officiate. Memorialization will take place at Rosedale Cemetery at a later date. November 14, 1969 – March 25, 2007
Ken passed away peacefully at the age of 37 with family by his side. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Angela; daughters: Breigh-Anne and Karleigh; his parents, Ken and Barb Rodford, sister, Carrie (Keith) and their children: Stephanie and Ron; mother and father-in-law, Diane & Gerhard Klein, as well as numerous other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Ken’s Life will be held at the Hillcrest Apostolic Church, 1550 Main St. N. on Friday, March 30, 2007 at 1:30 pm. Della Ferguson will be the Celebrant. Visitation for family and friends will take place Thursday evening 7-9 p.m. at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home. NESTOR SAPACH
NESTOR KENNETH SAPACH, 66, of Moose Jaw passed away peacefully at home in the loving embrace of his family on August 6, 2007 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born October 10, 1940 in Arabella, Saskatchewan the son of John and Annie Sapach and grew up on the family farm. In 1957 he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force at age 17, where he was stationed with 421 Squadron and served in Canada, Congo and Germany. After returning to Canada and civilian life he lived in Ottawa and Vancouver working as a mechanic for various airlines. In 1974 he returned to Saskatchewan to take over the family farm. After a farming accident he enrolled at the University of Regina and graduated with a degree in Adult Vocational Education. Nestor had a passion for all things mechanical and was always ready to fix, build and tinker anything that crossed his path. He loved fishing and golfing and was happiest when enjoying these hobbies with friends and family. Nestor is survived by his wife, Elsie; children: Sophia Sapach of Edmonton, Monica Gregorious of Lansweiler, Germany, Tamara (Anthony) Fulmes of Ottawa, Rudi (Terri Ekvall) Sapach of Regina, Yvonne (Ron) Bean of Rouleau, Gloria Koch (Tim Depko) of Regina. His grandchildren: Avery, Airathaea, Andréas and Akeesha Sapach of Edmonton, Jasmine Gregorious of Lansweiler, Tori Sapach of Ottawa, Ivan and Alexander Sapach of Regina, Amy (Brodie) McGregor of Regina, Daniel Bean (fiancé, Jennifer Campbell) of Regina, Nestor was also blessed to enjoy the birth of great-grandson, Andrew McGregor of Regina. He is also survived by siblings, Gloria Laviolette, Nathaniel, Daniel and David Sapach and is predeceased by his brother, Lorne. A time of Visitation & Farewell will take place on Friday, August 10, 2007; 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw followed by a memorial tea from 1:30p.m. – 4p.m. at the W. J. Jones & Son Family Centre, 262 Athabasca St. E. Royal Canadian Legion Funeral Rites will be presented at the Funeral Home by Branch #59 at 11a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St. W., Moose Jaw, S6H 2M2 or to a charity of one’s choice. STANLEY J. FOWLER
It is with great sadness the family of STANLEY JAMES FOWLER announce his passing on Sunday, March 9, 2008 at the age of 88 years. Stan served overseas in 1939 and flew Spitfires with Squadron 616 until 1945. He returned to his pre war position with CP Railway until retiring as number one Engineer on VIA Rail. He enjoyed his yard, gardening, fishing and walking the dogs in the woods. Predeceased by his wife, Beverly and his daughter, Pamela Fowler, Stan will be greatly missed by his children: Margaret (Jon) Friel, Gordon (Beverly) Fowler, Patricia (Jim Burrows) Olson, his grandchildren: Dustin (Emily), Scott (Margaret), Brandon (Carly), Amy, Cade and Morgan and his great-grandchildren: Michael, Alexandra, Bella, Elizabeth, Daniel and William. Stan will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, Moose Jaw. Major Don Law of the Moose Jaw Salvation Army will officiate. Memorialization will take place in the Prairie Memorial Columbarium at a later time. Wilfred Kraus, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 15, 2003 at the age of 70 years. Wilfred was deeply loved and will be missed by his wife of thirty-five years, Myrna Kraus (nee Deobald); son, Brent (Andrea) Kraus; sisters: Marlene (Keith) Marshall; and Martha Birtch; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Wilfred is predeceased by his father, Jacob, and mother, Elizabeth. A Memorial Service celebrating Wilfred’s Life will be held at Central Lutheran Church, 27 Hochelaga St. W., on Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at 3:00 pm. Reverend Doug Shepherd will officiate. BETTY JOHNSTONE
The family of Agnes Elizabeth “Betty” Johnstone (nee Crosbie) are sorry to announce her passing on October 11, 2003, after a short time in the hospital. She was born September 25, 1916, in the Caron district where she grew up and attended Pelican Lake School. In 1938, she married Lloyd, and they lived and farmed in the Cobourg district where they raised their family until they retired to Moose Jaw in 1980. They enjoyed various vacations and their many winters in Mesa, Arizona. Betty was a long time member of the Cobourg Ladies Friendship group and Zion United Church Women's group. Betty was a very social person who enjoyed visiting with family and friends, and outings to various events. She was proud of her grandchildren and enjoyed hearing about their accomplishments. She had recently moved to The Bentley, where she enjoyed her last months. Betty is predeceased by her parents Herbert and Frances Crosbie, husband Lloyd Johnstone, brother Milt Crosbie and infant granddaughter Bonnie Francis and special in-laws: Kay and Ross Flack, Thornton and Margaret Johnstone, Clara Elkin, Ron Johnstone, Chick Wilson, Ralph Johnstone, and George Mintenko. Betty is lovingly remembered by: her children Wayne and Dorothy Johnstone, Char Francis, Bill and Lynn Johnstone- all of Moose Jaw, and her seven grandchildren, Scott (Julie) Johnstone - Moose Jaw, Cathy (Scott) Donald - Regina, Rob (Cossette) Francis - Moose Jaw, Lori Johnstone (Cory)- Moose Jaw, Nicole (Brad) Franklin - Sidney, Montana, Krista Johnstone (Jamie) - Regina, and Toni Francis (Brian) – Moose Jaw. She will be missed by eight very special great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kirstie, Camryn, Melissa, Keagan, Gillian, Brooke, and Jaxson. She is also survived by brothers, Earl (Joan) Crosbie- Salmon Arm, B.C, Gord (Joyce) Crosbie - High River, AB, Doug (Edith) Crosbie - Moose Jaw, and sister, Fran (Stan) Martin - Coquitlam, B.C, and sister-in-law, Ede Crosbie - Moose Jaw.
