JANET SELLERS (nee Haist) of Extendicare, Moose Jaw, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2003. Janet was born July 24, 1907 in Hespler, Ontario and moved to Saskatchewan in 1911. She was predeceased by her husband, Allan and a grandson, Darryl. Janet leaves to mourn her family: Loyd and Bev Sellers of Maple Ridge, B.C.; Edith and Dee Vaden of Pocatello, Idaho and Lawrence and Nancy Sellers of Briercrest; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army Citadel, Moose Jaw. Captain Norm Hamelin will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. TINA GANNON
Mrs. Tina (Katherine) Gannon (nee Dyck) beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great- grandmother passed away peacefully with family by her side in the Lethbridge Regional Hospital, Saturday, October 14, 2006 at the age of 85 years. Tina was born February 17, 1921 on her parent’s homestead near Gouldtown, Saskatchewan. Tina was the eldest daughter of ten children born to Agnetha and Peter Dyck. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband James, her son Donald, her sister Annie and her brothers Peter and William. Left to morn her passing are her siblings Nettie Friesen of Herbert, Saskatchewan; Eva Pitman of Hinton, Alberta; Martha (John) Radiuk of Swift Current, Saskatchewan; Helen (Abe) Wiebe of Herbert, Saskatchewan; Elizabeth (Bernhard) Sadowski of Valjean, Saskatchewan; and George Dyck of Christopher Lake, Saskatchewan; her son Donald’s widow Joyce Gannon of Preeceville Saskatchewan; her children Shirley (Raymond) Schroeder of Regina, Saskatchewan and Victor (Yanelis) Gannon of Lethbridge, Alberta, as well as her ten grandchildren; Bradley Gannon, Robert Gannon, Shaun Gannon, Russell (Wendy) Schroeder, Yvette Mushinski, Catherine Gannon, Doreen (Jason) Oakes, Patrick Gannon, David Gannon, Victoria Gannon, and seven great-grandchildren: Amanda Gannon, Donald Gannon, Keith Gannon, Amanda Schroeder, Melissa Schroeder, Rebecca Schroeder, and Ayla Mushinski. Tina farmed with her husband James near Gouldtown. She enjoyed raising sheep and cattle, riding in the coulees, reading, knitting and tending her garden. Tina will be remembered as a supportive and loving sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, as well as a dear friend and devoted Christian. The funeral service will be held at the Lutheran Church in Herbert, Saskatchewan on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation for family friends will in this same church on Wednesday October the 18 between 7:00 and 9:00 pm. Pastor Terry Simonson will officiate. Interment will take place following the service at the Gouldtown cemetery. Donations may be made to the United Church of Canada and the Mennonite Central Committee in her honour. GERRY BOUCHER
GERRY EMILE BOUCHER of Moose Jaw passed away Friday December 14, 2007 at the age of 88 years. Gerry was born November 5, 1919 in Coderre, Saskatchewan. He started working for Coca Cola in the fall of 1941 in Montreal, Quebec and in 1961 transferred to Moose Jaw where he worked for Jackson Bottling until his retirement in 1981. Gerry loved to go and have coffee and share stories with his old friends. Predeceased by his lovely wife, Annette, on February 28, 2001, Gerry leaves to mourn his sister, Carmelle in Montreal, as well as many cousins in Saskatchewan. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 17, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel. Father Tony Sevali C.S.Sp. will officiate. Memorialization will take place at Prairie Memorial Columbarium. Visitation for family and friends will take place Sunday evening, 7-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Special thanks to Dr. Tarhuni, Dr. Sanderson, Moose Jaw Union Hospital Medical Floor and ICU staff, and to George Lawrence and Cassie Wog for their kindness in Gerry’s last years. OSCAR MANN
Oscar Mann, age 75 of Moose Jaw, passed away on June 22, 2005, with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Oakshella, SK, later farming there until retiring to Moose Jaw. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Eleanor; children: Caren Mann - Saskatoon; Larry (Karen) - Martensville and their children, Jordan and Brendan; Gail (Randy) Field - Moose Jaw and their son, Jacob; Bruce (Kim) - Saskatoon and their children Alexandra, Joshua, and Lucas; Brian (Laurie) - Kindersley and their children, Braeden, Keagan, and Dawson; Heather Mann - Moose Jaw and her children, Christopher, Nathan, Brittany, Haylee, and Tanner. At Oscar's request, a private Service of Remembrance will be held at a later date. Memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St. W., Moose Jaw, S6H 2M2, would be appreciated. WILLIAM COLE
December 3, 1915 – December 12, 2004
William Cole, age 89, of Moose Jaw, passed away on December 12, 2004. He is predeceased by his wife, Ann; parents William and Annie; sisters, Ethel, Hilda, Doris, and Gertrude. Bill is survived by daughter, Barb (Randy), grandchildren Robin, Trevor, Tracy; great-grandsons, Travis and Nicholas; brothers, Albert and Frank; sisters, Mae and Laura; and several nieces and nephews. Bill served during WWII (ranked Private), and farmed in the Parkbeg district. He married Ann Oatman in 1963 and they retired to Moose Jaw in 1975. Bill enjoyed gardening and his little dogs. He moved to a private care home in 1999 and later to Extendicare. Special thanks to the staff at Extendicare for the wonderful care received. Funeral Services will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Thursday December 16, 2004 at 11:00 am. Reverend Frank Mitchell will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. SARAH GRAVES
SARAH GRAVES (Atkinson) was born in 1916 in Verwood, Saskatchewan. In 1944 she married Thomas Graves. They farmed at Mortlach for thirty years. Sarah and Tom retired first to Mortlach and then Victoria Towers in Moose Jaw. Sarah spent her last three years at Ina Grafton Gage Home. She passed away February 14, 2005. Sarah was predeceased by her husband, Tom, parents, Joseph and Mary Atkinson, four sisters, two brothers, four sisters-in-law and five brothers-in-law. She is survived by her five children: Doreen Slowski (Lorne) of Saskatoon, Neil Graves (Irene) of Mortlach, Marion Humeny (Stanley) of Kindersley, Marlene Pryce (Norm) of St. Albert, AB, Reg Graves (Brenda) of Edmonton, AB; ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one brother, Rollin Atkinson of Assiniboia and one sister-in-law, Olive Graves of BC The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. in the St. Aidan Church, 124 - 1st Ave. N.E., Moose Jaw. Reverend Derek Nicholls will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. DOROTHY MAIR
DOROTHY META MAIR passed away on April 5, 2005 at the age of 91. Dorothy attended Victoria School, Ross and Central Collegiate, Davidson Business College and Moose Jaw Technical School where she was a student of Bart Pragnell. She was active in St. Andrew’s Church in C.G.I.T., O’Tags, Excel Club, Club 16 and taught Sunday School. Dorothy was Vice President of the YM/YWCA and a member of the Princess Patricia Club (auxiliary to the 77th Battery) as well as active in the United Appeal and the Mentally Handicapped Association. Dorothy married Alex R. Mair of Aberdeen, Scotland on August 19, 1944 here in Moose Jaw. Dorothy spent thirty-three years in the family business, Moose Jaw Distributing Company (International Harvester Dealership) until her retirement in 1974, after which she and Alex spent twenty-two winters in Arizona. She is predeceased by her brother, Frederick Courtnage, and sister, Constance Brown. Dorothy is survived by Alex, her beloved husband of sixty years, as well as nephews: Ralph (Juanita) Courtnage of Moose Jaw and Donald (Patricia) Courtnage of Winnipeg, niece, Barbara Schmuland (Glenn) of Regina, and sister-in-law, Jessie Courtnage of Moose Jaw. In accordance with Dorothy’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Cremation will take place with memorialization at the Prairie Memorial Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, it would be appreciated if donations could be made to the Saskatchewan Heart & Stroke Foundation, 2360 – 2nd Ave., Regina, Sask., S4R 1A6.
