HEYWOOD -- Mr. Robert Alan Heywood of Calgary, passed away Friday, December 26, 1997, at the Foothills Hospital, at the age of 77 years. Announcements later by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES "Chapel of the Bells", 2720 CENTRE STREET NORTH. Telephone: 403-276-2296.

HYDE -- Mary Theresa (nee Hughes) peacefully on Tuesday, December 23, 1997 at the Lakeshore Lodge, Toronto, at the age of 95 years. Theresa (lovingly known as Ted or Teddy) was predeceased by her husband Raymond Milton (Ray) Hyde; her son Ray Jr.; and her grandsons, Steve Cooke and Rick Hyde. Theresa will be sadly missed by her daughter Nancy Jane Cooke of Calgary; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; special nieces, Beryl Frampton and Carol Fordyce; loyal friend Betty Cameron; daughter-in-law Teresa Hyde; and other nieces and nephews and their families. Her ready smile and sense of humour will be missed by all those and by residents and staff of Lakeshore Lodge. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Monday, December 29, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Lakeshore Lodge. KABEARY -- Alberta Ida Kabeary of High River, passed away at the High River Nursing Home on December 26, 1997 at the age of 91 years. She is lovingly remembered by her son Bill and daughter-in-law Barbara; her grandchildren, Tim (Blanca), Doug (Andrea), and Kerri (Loxley); and her ten great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 906 - 9 Street West, High River, on Tuesday, December 30 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association, 200, 700 - 4 Avenue S.W., Calgary, T2P 3J4. KENNEDY -- Warren Graham passed away peacefully at home December 24, 1997. His grieving family - Gladys, Kathy (John Foden), Paula Lupin; and two grandchildren, Payton and Jake - will miss his contagious humor. He was predeceased by his father in 1955 and his mother in 1989. His greatest pleasure was to make people laugh. Warren taught Senior and Junior High School in Regina, Saskatchewan and Calgary, Alberta until 1987. He came out of retirement five years ago and substituted until he suffered a stroke in May. He will be dearly missed and we know all who knew him loved him. At Warren's request, no Funeral Service will be held. Those wishing to remember him may make a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 1825 Park Road S.E., Calgary, T2G 3Y6. Miss Me, But Let Me Go. KRYWULAK -- December 21, 1997, Mary Krywulak, aged 56 years of Calgary. She is survived by her father John Krywulak of Foam Lake, Sask.; her brothers and sisters, Terry (Maureen) Krywulak, Carol Krywulak, John Krywulak, Joe Krywulak, Angie (Greg) Ingram and Nettie (Bill) McDonald, all of Calgary, Bill (Grace) Krywulak of Edmonton, Kathey (Bernie) Pidgorski of Buchanan, Sask., Mabel (Nick) Chupik of Danberry, Sask., and Marta (Metro) Mosiondz of Yorkton, Sask.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. LEUSCHNER -- Lela Stell Leuschner (nee Baker) passed away peacefully December 22, 1997 at the Extendicare Cedars Villa at the age of 93 years. "Judy" as she was known to many, will be sadly missed by her son William Charles Leuschner and his wife Laurie of Calgary; her grandchildren, Jan Swinson (Richard) of Bedford, Texas, Lizabeth Leuschner (Steve Wilson) of Calgary, and Charles Leuschner of Vancouver, B.C.; and her great-grandchildren, Chris and Callie Ruth Meeks (Texas), and Layton, Rachel and True Wilson (Calgary); as well as many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband William Charles Leuschner Jr. in 1966, and by her sister Edna Vada Baker in 1984. During World War II, Judy packed parachutes for the U.S. Air Corps. She was active in Violet Chapter No. 158, Order of the Eastern Star in Victoria, Texas where her membership spanned more than fifty years. After having lived for many years in Corpus Christi, Texas where she enjoyed her garden and fruit trees, she moved to Calgary in 1988 to be near her family. Special thanks to the many fine people at the Cedars Villa "Poplar Unit" for their excellent care and compassion. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at the family plot in Corpus Christi, Texas. Flowers are gratefully declined. LOUIE -- Stanley passed away at the Foothills Hospital on December 24, 1997 at the age of 63 years. Mr. Louie will be sadly missed by his loving wife Helen; his sons, Stephen, Tony and his wife Anita, and Michael; and his grandchildren, Shawn, Courtney and Stanley Anthony. MACK -- (nee Zimmerman). Mary of Calgary passed away at the Dr. Vernon Fanning Centre on December 21, 1997 at the age of 90 years. She is the loving mother of six sons and four daughters. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as many other family members. Mary was predeceased by her loving husband Adam in 1992. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Sunday, December 28, 1997 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church (640 - 19 Avenue N.W.) on Monday, December 29, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. MARSH -- Frederick James passed away at Rosedale Hospice, December 26, 1997 at the age of 77 years. Beloved husband of Marjory (nee Lee) for fifty-five and one half years; father of daughter Beverly Ashton and her family, Maria and Amber; and daughter Christine Marsh-Williams (Charles S.) and their family, Jessica Williams (Glenn Holden) and Clayton. He is also survived by a sister Margery Parker (George); two sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews in Australia. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers in Australia. He also leaves many good mates in Australia and we will all miss dearly his love, generosity and wonderful humour. Fred was raised in Australia and joined the R.A.A.F. in 1941, trained as Wireless Operator in Calgary, and married Marjory in 1942. During his tour of operations in Europe, Fred towed gliders and dropped paratroops in Airborne Operations D-Day Arnheim and Rhine Crossing. Supplied French, Danish and Norwegian Underground with arms and ammunition. Retrieved P.O.W.'s from Brussels. Detached from Squadron to Air Circus for Allied Aircraft Recognition flying displays to American and British Army and Naval Bases prior to D-Day. Took Paratroops to Italy for S.A.S. operations. Numerous training exercises for glider pilots and paratroopers. First Allied Aircraft to land in Oslo, Norway on May 7, 1945 for the surrender of German Air Force in Norway. After the war, spent many years with Airforce Reserve, and twenty years with the Air Cadet movement where he was the Provincial Chair a year. He was an Honourable Life Member of the Stampede Band Committee, a member of SAIT's Alive, the Aircrew Association and the A.U.S.I. Funeral Services will be held at Wesley United Church, 1315 - 7 Street S.W. on Tuesday, December 30, 1997 at 1:00 p.m., Rev. C. Tom McLaughlin officiating. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations in Fred's memory may be made to the Rosedale Hospice, 920 - 7A Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2M 3J3. PETAPIECE -- Audrey Irene Petapiece passed away peacefully at Carewest Glenmore Park on December 26, 1997 at the age of 84 years. Audrey was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on June 24, 1913, the daughter of Wesley and Lottie (nee Wells) Norman. Following the death of her loving husband J. Orland (Orlie) Petapiece in 1993, she moved from Burnaby, BC to Calgary to be with her family. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Barbara and son-in-law Doug Baldwin; grandchildren, Cameron Baldwin and Carolyn and her husband Douglas Armitage; great-grandson Riley Baldwin, all of Calgary; her sister Len and her husband Eldon Holm of Seattle, Washington; and sisters-in-law Alice Edwards of Portland, Oregon and Lois Petapiece of Chico, California. The family wishes to acknowledge Audrey's friend Faye Larsen and special caregivers, Cindy Culley and Linda Sauer, and the very caring staff at Carewest Glenmore Park. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Park Memorial Chapel", (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.), on Tuesday, December 30, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. At a later date, Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, B.C. POGUE -- W. Gordon died peacefully December 22, 1997 at Foothills Hospital after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his son Donald (Carol) of Calgary; and his sister Mary Coons of Thessalon, Ontario; loving grandchildren, Stephen, Carolyn, Teresa, Anton (Jeanne), Michael, Tim (Leslie) and Karen; three great-grandchildren, Ashley, Kirsten and Douglas; together with cherished daughters-in-law, Mary Jane of Calgary and Gwen of Sandpoint, Idaho. He was predeceased in 1993 by his loving wife Elsie, and his sons, Douglas (1992) and David (1993). Born in Peterborough, Ontario in 1908, Gordon received his professional training at George Williams College and North-Western University in Chicago where he married Elsie in 1930. Moving to Toronto in 1934, he established Pogue Health Service, an athletic club and health education facility, later pioneering the same health and fitness service in Calgary from 1950 to his retirement in 1974. For the next twenty-two years, he remained active in Lahaina, Hawaii until ill-health brought him back to Calgary. He was highly regarded for his dedication to well-being, and remained, until the end, a promoter of healthy living. Heartfelt thanks is extended for the dedicated and tireless efforts of the entire staff of Unit 47 and the Dialysis Unit staff of Foothills Hospital. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to a Reception in Gordon's honour at Jacques Funeral Home, 240 - 17 Avenue S.W., Sunday, December 28, 1997 between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Lahaina where burial of cremated remains will take place.
