Herbert Richter
11/12/1930 - 03/12/2008

Grande-Digue, NB – Herbert Richter, 77, suddenly passed away at his residence on Wednesday, December 3, 2008.

Born in Germany on December 11th, 1930, he was the son of the late Gelhald and Ida (Lachman) Richter.

He is survived by one sister, Brigitte Richter of Germany, eight brothers-in-law; Amédée (Albina), Désiré, Robert, Raymond, Alfred (Odette), Normand (Sue), Joseph (Lorraine), Wilfred (Anna); four sisters-in-law, Irène LeBlanc, Dorilla Boisvert, Rhéa (Roméo) LeBlanc and Maria (George) Hutnick.

He was predeceased by his wife, Aurelie (Goguen), one sister, Erika and two brothers, Gunther and Helmut.

Respecting Herbert’s wishes, there will be no visitation. The funeral service will be held at the Passage Chapel at 3754, Route 134, Shediac Bridge, on Monday, December 8th, 2008 at 11am with a reception following the service.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or donors’ choice would be appreciated by the family.

Laurie LeBlanc
19/09/1921 - 17/12/2008

Grande-Digue – Laurie LeBlanc, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Born in Memramcook on September 19, 1921, he was the son of the late Albénie M. and Exelda (Belliveau) LeBlanc.

Laurie was a veteran in the years 1943 – 1946 and served in the Atlantic, Pacific and England. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 33 in Shediac.

He is survived by his wife, Marie (Léger); one son, Aurèle Dupuis of Memramcook; one daughter Jeannette Dupuis of Abitibi, Québec; one brother, Emile LeBlanc (Rita) of Grande-Digue; and one granddaughter, Christel.

He was predeceased by his first wife Adrienne (Bourgeois) in 1955; one infant brother, Antoine and five brothers, Eddie, Ernest, Yvon, Antoine and Arthur.

Resting at the Passage Funeral Co-operative, 3754 Route 134, in Shediac Bridge, visiting hours will be held on Sunday, December 21, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. and Monday, December 22, from 9 to 10:30 am. Funeral service will be held at La Visitation RC Church in Grande-Digue on Monday, December 22 at 11 am.

Donations to the Lung Association or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

George Robins

Grande-Digue, NB – George Robins, 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at the Moncton City Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Moncton on May 2, 1936, he was the son of the late George and late Audrey (Wilson) Robins.

George was a veteran of the Naval Air in Shearwater, NS. He was a member of the Club d’Âge d’Or of Grande-Digue.

George is survived by his wife, Pauline (LeBlanc); three sons, Bryan of Edmonton, AB, Corey and Tom, both of Dartmouth, NS; one half-brother, Wayne of Moncton; one half-sister, Dawn of Summerside, PEI and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one brother, Charles and one sister, Shirley.

Visiting hours will be at Passage Funeral Co-Operative, 3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge on Sunday, March 15 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. No visitation on Monday morning. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 16 at the Our Lady of Mercy RC Church in Pointe-du-Chêne at 11 am.

Donations to the Moncton City Hospital Palliative Care Unit or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Donald Bourgeois
25/05/1938 - 21/03/2009

Grande-Digue, NB – Donald Bourgeois, 70, passed away peacefully at the Moncton City Hospital surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, March 21, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Grande-Digue on May 25, 1938, he was the son of the late Aldéric Bourgeois and the late Philomène Poirier.

Donald is survived by his wife Claudette (LeBlanc); one son: André of Moncton; one daughter: Jocelyne Bourgeois (Ian Roberts) of Ottawa; one granddaughter: Emma Roberts; two brothers: Edmond (Émilie) of Grande-Digue and Alphonse (Camilla) of Dieppe; four sisters: Hélène D’Eon (Richard) of Waltham Mass, Marie-Thérèse Bourque (Lenny) of Tewskbury Mass, Gisèle Benson (Tom) of Seabright, NS and Denise Léger (Jacques) of Grande-Digue.

He was predeceased by one infant daughter Marie-France and one brother Paul-Pierre.

There will be no visitation at the request of the family. A celebration of his life will be held at the La Visitation RC Church in Grande-Digue on Tuesday, March 24 at 3 pm.

Donald was greatly involved in many aspects of the community that he loved, and will be greatly missed by many people, especially his family and close and loyal friends.

In lieu of flowers or masses, donations to the Red Cross, Development and Peace or a humanitarian charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Wilfred Goguen

Grande-Digue – Wilfred Goguen, 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on December 26th, 2009 at his residence.

Born in Grande-Digue on May 16th, 1929, he was the son of the late Fred and Adèle (Caissie) Goguen.

Wilfred is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Anna (Arsenault) Goguen; two sons, Normand and Jacques (Gisèle Belliveau) both of Grande-Digue; two daughters, Jeannette (Dave) Armitage of Grand Barachois and Lorraine Goguen Doiron (Michael) of Dieppe; six brothers, Amédée (Albina) of Grand Barachois, Désiré (Late Esther), of Cap-Pelé, Raymond (Debbie) of PEI, Normand (Susan) of Florida, Alfred (Odette) of Grande-Digue and Joseph (Lorraine) also of Grande-Digue; four sisters, Irène (Late Léandre) LeBlanc of Virginia, Dorilla (Late Alphonse) Boisvert of Kitchener, Rhéa (Roméo) LeBlanc of Dieppe and Maria (George) Hutnick also of Dieppe, four grandchildren; Michelle, Rémi, Opale and Francelle and one great grandchild; Joelle.

Besides his parents, Wilfred was predeceased by two brothers, Arthur and Robert and four sisters, Aurelie, Nora, Germaine and Yvonne.

Cremation has taken place. At his request there will be no visitation or funeral service.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Albert J. Poirier

Grande-Digue – Albert J. Poirier, 87, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 5th, 2010 after a lengthy illness.

Born in Grande-Digue on January 17, 1922, he was the son of the late Willie and Annie (LeBlanc) Poirier.

Albert enjoyed passing time by tinkering and fixing things.

He will sadly be missed by his son, Maurice (Anne) of Ste-Anne-de-Kent; his sister, Exilia (Raymond) of Dieppe; two granddaughters, Rachel and Janelle; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Germaine in 2002, five sisters, Béatrice, Marie, Rosanna, Diana, Lina; and two brothers, Amand and Arthur.

Visitation will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Thursday, January 7from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. Funeral service will be celebrated at La Visitation RC Church in Grande-Digue on Friday, January 8 at 11am, no visitation before the funeral.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Foundation or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Grande-Digue – Léonard Surette, 68, suddenly passed at his residence on Thursday, April 15, 2010.

Born in Grande-Digue on May 7th, 1941, he was the son of the late Léopold Surette and Rita (Hébert) Surette.

Léonard will sadly be missed by his mother, Rita; two sons, Sylvio (Yvette) and Francis, both of Grande-Digue; three daughters, Rachel (Jean-Paul) and Georgina, both of Grande-Digue, Lisa Martin (Philip) of Bouctouche; five brothers, Réginald (Jeannette) of Haute-Aboujagane, Bernard (Rosella), Morel (Brenda) and Paul-Emile, all of Grande-Digue, Jean-Louis (Exelda) of Shediac; one sister, Lorraine Bourque (Daniel) of Shediac; six grandchildren, Josée, Julie, Kevin, Sean, Julien, Martine; one brother-in-law, Léo Fontaine; also several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one son, Vincent and one brother, Gérard.

There will be a gathering for the family and relatives only at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Monday, April 19th from 10 to 11 am.

Alberta Léger

Grande-Digue – Alberta Léger, 66, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital on Wednesday, April 21st after a courageous battle with cancer. She resided at the Foyer Doucette in Grande-Digue, NB.

Born in Grande-Digue on December 16, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Florida (Brun) Downing.

Alberta will be sadly missed by her son Hervé Léger (Jill Power, fiancée) of Cocagne; three brothers, Edward Downing (Thérèse), Gérald Downing (Claudette), and Alonzo Downing (Phyllis), all of Grande-Digue; six sisters, Jeannine Légère (late Joe) of Toronto, ON, Léa Cormier (Ulysse) of Grande-Digue, Maria Cormier (Fernand) of Shediac, Stella Cloutier of Dieppe, Claira Léger (Jean-Paul) of Grande-Digue, Yvette Downing (Derek) of Mahone Bay, NS; and Joanne, mother of her two grandchildren, Natalie and Melissa.

Alberta was predeceased by her husband, Télex in 2007.

Visitation will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Friday, April 23rd from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm also on Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30am. Funeral service will be at the St-Pierre-de-Cocagne RC Church on Saturday, April 24th at 11am.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Alfred (Titi) Bourque

Grande-Digue –Alfred (Titi) Bourque, 54, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 7th, 2010.

Born in Toronto on January 18, 1956, he was the son of Reginald and Rita (LeBlanc) Bourque.

Besides his parents, Titi will sadly be missed by his sisters, Yvonne Bourque, Rachelle (Gerald Cormier) both of Moncton; his brothers, Arthur (Cathy), Normand both of Grande-Digue, Bernard of Dieppe; three nieces, Jocelyn, Christina and Lise; one nephew, Michel and one great- nephew Samuel.

There will be no visitation by the request of the family. Funeral mass will be celebrated at La Visitation RC Church in Grande-Digue on Monday July 12th, at 2pm.

Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or donor’s choice.

Grande-Digue – Gerard Hébert, 62, passed away suddenly at his residence on Sunday, October 31th, 2010.

Born in Grande-Digue on November 18th, 1947, he was the son of the late Arthur and Emma (Brun) Hébert.

He was a barber at Brunswick Barber Styling Shop in Moncton for 40 years.

Gérard will sadly be missed by his wife, Marguerite (Gallant); one daughter, Natalie Phillips (Ben) of Chicago, USA; one son, Gabriel Hébert (Meghan) of Moncton; two brothers, Roger Hébert (late Girene) of Moncton, Bernard Hébert (Camilla) of Grande-Digue; five sisters, Jeannette LeBlanc (Gerald), Anita Godin (late Alphonse) both of St-Jean, Claudette Després (Arthur) of Cocagne, Lucia Hébert (Roy) of Shediac, Suzanne Hébert (Réjent) of Grande-Digue.

Gérard was predeceased by one sister, Yvette (1949); four brothers Ulysse (1984), Claude (2002), Normand (2005) and Noé (2007).

Visitations will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Thursday, November 4th, from 7 to 9 pm and Friday, November 5th from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Funeral mass will be celebrated at La Visitation RC Church in Grande-Digue on Friday, November 5th at 11 am. Reception to follow at Passage in Shediac Bridge.

Donations to Heart & Stroke Foundation, or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
