1948 - 2008

Phillip Allan Reid - of Wiarton, suddenly - doing what he loved, hunting deer at Marryville Lake - on Monday, November 3rd, 2008. Phillip Allan Reid at the age of 60 years. Beloved husband of Joyce (nee Burt) for 43 years. Cherished father of Phyllis Reid and her partner Michael Kelly, of Ottawa and Allan and his wife Tracy, of Wiarton. Proud papa of Miranda Gallant, Natalie Gallant, Andrew Reid (partner Amanda Bartley), and Jessica Reid; and great-papa of Olivia Reid. Sadly missed by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Allan and Doreen Burt, Vivian Burt, Lila and Ken Ball, Norma Follis, Charlie Rae, Ivan and Pat Burt, Harvey and Sally Burt, Mary and Don Mason, Grace and Garnet King, Roy and Gail Burt, and Glen and Barb Burt; his niece Kathy Baine (Rick) and many friends. Predeceased by a baby daughter Mary Elizabeth; his sister Donna Roberts; brothers-in-law Jack Burt and Ken Follis; sister-in-law Marie Rae; and his parents Art and Irene McBride. Phillip will forever be remembered for his hard working generous nature and deep love of his family. Friends are invited to gather with the family at the Thomas C. 1951 - 2008

Mary Frances Montour - of Cape Croker, peacefully with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008. The former Mary Frances LaValley in her 58th year. Cherished mother of Tracy Boortz, of Cape Croker; and Melissa Boortz (partner Doug Brown), of Clavering. Proud grandmother of Ryan, Kyle, Summer, Cody, and Casaundra. Loving sister of Martha LaValley, Susan Taylor, Michalene LaValley, Michael LaValley (partner Wanita), Francis LaValley Jr. (and wife Cynthia), and Kathleen "Kitty" LaValley (partner J.D.), all of Cape Croker. Devoted daughter of Ernestine and the late Francis LaValley. Sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Mary will be forever remembered for her open-heartedness, beauty, and pursuit of excellence. Terry Wayne Arnold - peacefully on Wednesday, October 15th, 2008 at his son Terry's home that the two lovingly built together. Terry Wayne Arnold of RR#3 Wiarton at the age of 58 years. Cherished father of Terry and his wife Katherine, of RR#1 Allenford; Mike and his wife Liz, of Oshawa; and Dan and his wife Emily, of Kitchener. Treasured grandpa of Kolton, Theryn, Ryken, Zaydan, Shae-Lynn, Tyson and Tavia. Brother of Bill (Isobel), of Oliphant; Ted (Gwen), of Clavering; Doug (Barb), of Wiarton; Harvey (Mary), of Meaford; Evertt (Edith) and Vern (Fay), both of Oliphant; Kelven (Tracy), of Purple Valley; Carolyn (Joe Porter) and Donna Ward (partner Ron Henry), both of Wiarton. Sadly missed by Wendy; and his many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents Wallace and Gladys; and brothers Jim and Don. James Thomas Cunningham (October 17, 1923 - October 6, 2008) - of Wiarton, passed away at home surrounded by his family. James Thomas Cunningham in his 85th year. Loving husband of Hester (nee Weir). Proud father of Jim (Gwenda) Cunningham, Barb (Doug) Crow, Joan (Barry) Greig, Ron (Nancy) Cunningham, Doris (Rusty) Jackson, Linda Bain, Connie (Wayne) Clark, and Lenora (Ken) Clark. Cherished grandfather of 26 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters Bessie Phillips, Mary (Lorne) Weir, Floss (Glen) Miller, and Marg (Allan) Cramm; sister-in-law Winnie Cunningham; brother Dave (Ruth) Cunningham; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; and many friends. Loving husband of the late Dorothy (nee Dick). Cherished father of Susan Albrough, of London; and Jody and her husband Peter Mountain, of Oliphant. Devoted grandpa of Chad Hallett, Cory Hallett, Nicholas Mountain and Kristina Mountain. Caring son of Edward and Ruby Albrough, of Brighton. Brother of Margaret Albrough and her friend David Duke, of Salt Spring Island, BC; Robert and his wife Elizabeth, of Newmarket; Ronald and his wife Giselle, of Ottawa; Mary and her husband David White, of Oakville; and Judy Irwin, of Ottawa. Sadly missed by his sister-in-law Elizabeth Carney; brother-in-law Wally Callaghan; and his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister-in-law Gladys Callaghan. Mabel Stewart - of Lion's Head, suddenly at Grey Bruce Health Services Lion's Head on Sunday, October 5th, 2008. The former Mabel Vera Hellyer in her 89th year. Loving wife of the late William A. "Bill" Stewart. Sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews, especially Ron and Sharon McLay, Merle Rouse, Shirley Laviolette, Lois and Bruce Tigert, and Murray and Patty McLay; cousins; sisters-in-law; and brothers-in-law. Predeceased by her brother John Hellyer; sister Jessie McLay; niece Joyce McLay; brother-in-law Gordon McLay; and her parents Amos and Annie Hellyer. Proud Opa of Lisa-Kay. Brother of Maria and her husband Hinrich, and Johann Blome and his wife Gunda, all of Germany. Predeceased by his loving wife Anna (nee Edelmann, 1990); his brother Fred; and his parents Hermann and Marie. Hans was a quiet man who loved his family and his horses. William "Bill" Ruppel - of Johnsons Harbour Road, Tobermory suddenly on Monday, September 8th, 2008. William Clarence Ruppel in his 88th year. Bill led a simple, unassuming life, and had a deep love for the Peninsula. In keeping with Bill's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place. Arn Bennett
1930 - 2008

Albert Arnold "Arn" Bennett - of Red Bay suddenly at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound, on Tuesday, September 9th, 2008. Albert Arnold Bennett at the age of seventy-eight. Arn leaves behind: son Michael (and his wife Deborah); daughters Virginia Bennett (and her husband Michael O'Brien), Constance (and her husband Rick Storrar), Rebecca (and her husband Peter Gavidia), and Sarah Bennett; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He will be missed by sister Marlene Davidson (and her husband Ross), brothers-in-law Ellery Hepburn and Mac Burke; and sisters-in-law Grace Cruickshank, Joy Couch, Ruth Parrest and Esther McCleery. Predeceased by his loving wife Myrtle (nee Thomas); brother Gord; and sisters Constance Burke and Mae Hepburn. Arn has had a lifetime of tourism hospitality at Evergreen Resort at Red Bay, Ontario. He will always be remembered by the thousands of guests who knew him as a person interested in everyone and ready to make them happy and comfortable and well fed. Arn was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and as such had an understanding and belief from the Bible that the earth will become a paradise under the Kingdom of God through Christ Jesus, and that under God's judgement, will have a resurrection to life on this new paradise earth. Cherished mother of Rhonda (husband Brian Pedoniquotte), Charles Jones (partner Rachel Boyer), Orland Jones (partner Monique Busch), Blake Jones (wife Vanessa), Rhoda (husband Wendall Nadjiwon), Yolanda McDonald, and Leighton Jones (partner Patty Keeshig), all of Cape Croker, Jenny (husband Doug Abell), of Shallow Lake, and Danny Jones (partner Michelle Francis), of Digby, NS. Loving grandmother of 35 and great-grandmother of 15. Sister of Annette (Ron Kelty), of Wisconsin; Leighton Hopkins (Peggy) and Eunice (Renus Rankin), both of Moravian Town; and Roselene Hopkins (partner Ken Simpson), of Rockwood.
