STEWART, Margaret Anne - After a courageous battle with cancer, at Guelph General Hospital, on Thursday, June 27, 2002, in her 63rd year. Sadly missed by her loving husband, Donald; dear mother of Lisa and her husband Dan Dawson of Guelph and Paul and Tim, both of Fergus. Also loved by her grandchildren, Quest and Kelsey Dawson; her sister, Joanne and her husband Bill Dick and brothers, Jim and his wife Fran Parks and John (Jack) and his wife Marilyn Parks, all of Guelph. Margaret was a dedicated machinist with ITT Fluid Products in Guelph for over 25 years. She enjoyed her retirement over the past seven years, volunteering at the Wellington Terrace Home for Seniors in Elora and with the Canadian Cancer Society. She especially looked forward to spending time with her golfing friends. Friends will be received at the Thomson-Jeffrey Funeral Home, 160 St. David St. N., Fergus, on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in the Thomson Chapel on Monday, July 1, 2002 at 11 a.m. with Ray Pearse officiating. Cremation will follow with interment of cremated remains later at Elora Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

WEBBER, Velma Margaret - At Riverbend Place, Cambridge, on Thursday, July 11, 2002, in her 95th year. Velma Webber (nee Cockburn) is the beloved mother of Bryan Webber and his wife Gayle of Cambridge; loved grandmother of Pamela Beacock and her husband Dan of Waterloo, Blair Webber and his wife Jill, Jennifer Ibbotson and Stephanie Ibbotson, all of Cambridge; great-grandmother of Zachery, Jakob and Emiko and special grandma to the Dool family. Loved sister of Marion Cunningham and her husband Howard of St. Catherines and Wilfred (Buzz) Cockburn of Paris. She will be lovingly remembered by her friends at Riverbend Place. She was predeceased by one brother, Roy Blair Cockburn. Mrs. Webber was an active member of Norfolk United Church in Guelph prior to her move to Cambridge. The Webber family would like to say special thanks to Luba for her years of love and care. Friends will be received at Coutts Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 96 St. Andrews St., Cambridge on Saturday, July 13, 2002 from 1 p.m. until the funeral service time of 2 p.m. to be conducted in the funeral home chapel. A reception will follow in Coutts Family Reception Cottage. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery, Brantford. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Cambridge & North Dumfries Community Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.

SHAPIRO, Sandra Lena - bravely, after a courageous battle with cancer and with her family by her side at Guelph General Hospital on Friday, August 23, 2002. Sandy (Fenkell) Shapiro in her 65th year. Beloved wife of the late Jack Shapiro. Proud mother of Lisa Newbigging and her husband Brad, Marla Arndt and her husband Thom, Leslie Bender and her husband Brian, all of Guelph. Loved Bub of Tara, Brent, Landon, Brody, Jesse, Noah and Emilie. Dear sister of Gerry Fenkell and his late wife Helle of Toronto, Bobbi Rubin and her husband Mike of New Jersey. Lovingly remembered by Lars, Erik and Louis Fenkell. Sandy will be missed by her longtime friend, Phyllis Rash and will be remembered in a special way by those she touched and helped during her 31 years as the owner of the Diplomat Hotel. Services will be held at Beth Isaiah Synagogue (Dublin & Surrey Streets), Guelph on Monday, August 26, at 2 p.m. with Cantor Haskell Bahar officiating. Interment Beth Isaiah Section of Woodlawn Cemetery. Shiva will be held at 17 Knevitt Place, Guelph. SULLIVAN, John Joseph (Jack) - Peacefully, at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Fergus, on Sunday, August 25, 2002. Jack Sullivan, in his 81st year was the beloved husband of Margaret (Matthews) Sullivan; loving father of Anne Vallentin and her late husband Joseph of Cayuga, Tim and his wife Lydia of Elora, Mary Ellen Sullivan and her husband James Stewart of Halifax, Pat Sullivan and his wife Linda Lacroix of Ottawa, Bill Sullivan and his late wife Connie Heng of Toronto and Irene Sullivan and her husband Hugh John Smith of Guelph. Dear brother of Helen Sullivan of Edmonton, Jean Sullivan of Guelph and the late Irene Haefling and Norma Weadick; loved grandfather of thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Dear brother-in-law of Louis and Mary Margaret Matthews of London, Jerry and Angela Matthews of Guelph and Bill and Fran Matthews of Hamilton. Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph where the family will receive friends today (Tuesday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Jack will be held this afternoon (Tuesday) at 3 p.m. The Funeral Mass will take place at St. Joseph's Church, 409 Paisley Road, on Wednesday, August 28, 2002 at 10 a.m. Interment Marymount Cemetery, Guelph. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Groves Memorial Community Hospital or to Father Abraham of the Jesuit Missions would be appreciated by the family. McQUARRIE, Ella - Peacefully, at the Elliott Nursing Home, in Guelph, on Sunday, August 25, 2002. Ella McQuarrie, formerly of Erin and Toronto, where she worked for Zurich Insurance for many years, in her 98th year. Dear sister of Marjorie Fisher of Niagara Falls. Predeceased by her loving brothers and sisters, Donald and Ken McQuarrie, Vera McQuarrie, Elva Mossop, Mary Cobban and Myrtle Steen. Dear aunt of Marilyn English, Barbara Hebbes, Tom Steen and Ken Steen. In keeping with Ella's wishes, a private family funeral service will be held followed by cremation. DENHAM, Hazel Elizabeth Eleanor - Peacefully, at her home, on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at the age of 91 years. Wife of the late George Herbert Denham (1980). Sadly missed by her daughters, Betty Post and her husband Ray, Marie Denham, all of Guelph, Rina Moss and her husband Jack of Conestogo. Dear grandma of Jason and Rebecca Moss. Sister of Valera Marshall of Milton and Ruth Kelly of Ottawa. Predeceased by her sister, Muriel Barnett. Sadly missed by her companion, Finnie. Hazel was a longtime member of Rockwood Presbyterian Church and a lifetime member of the Women's Missionary Society. MORIARTY, William Edward "Mont" - Suddenly, at his home, on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002. Bill Moriarty, at the age of 63 years. Son of Agnes and the late John Moriarty. Dear husband of Marlene Duncan. Loved father of Coleen Holmes of Fredericton, New Brunswick and Kelly Moriarty of Woodstock. Loved grandfather of Clayton, Carlee and Caleb. Dear brother of Sister Ann Marie Moriarty of Alexandria and Betty Rooney of Granton. Predeceased by his brother, Patrick Moriarty. Bill was a teacher at College Heights Secondary School for 27 years. McDOUGALL, Clarence Walter - Peacefully, at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Arthur, on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Moira McDougall of Arthur. Dear father of Les McDougall and his wife Geraldine of Lone Rock, Sask., Joyce Low and her husband Dennis of Rothsay, N.B., Bill McDougall and his wife Nancy of Dresden, Marilyn McDougall of Pembroke, Patricia Hammermeuller and her husband Harry of North Carolina and Randy McDougall and his wife Maria of Bowmanville. Survived by his sisters, Ruth Densmore, Janet Clark and Violet Kramp, all of Guelph and Ethel McEwen of Arthur. Also by his brothers, Ken (Ann) McDougall of Arthur and Gordon (Betty Ann) McDougall of Innisfail, Alta. Lovingly remembered by eleven granddaughters, eight grandsons, one great-granddaughter and one great-grandson. SEIFRIED, Gerald - Passed away, on September 25, 2002, in Hamilton, at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Audrey Fries; dearly beloved father of Patricia Turner and Harry Seifried; grandchildren, Laura Turner, Jeff Turner and Andrew Turner. Predeceased by parents, Mary and John Seifried; brothers, Harold Seifreid and Carl Seifried. Survived by his sister, Mary Seifried; sister-in-law, Audrey Linder and many nieces and nephews. MARSLAND, Shirley - Suddenly, at Plummer Memorial Public Hospital, Sault Ste. Marie, on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, Shirley Marsland, in her 65th year. Beloved daughter of the late Fred and Leda Marsland. Dear sister of Jim and his wife Marion Marsland, Marjorie and her husband Ken Bilton and Sharon and her husband Dave Gray. Also loved by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Thomson & Collins Funeral Home, 160 St. David St. N., Fergus, Ontario on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002 from 9:30 a.m. until service time in the Thomson Chapel at 11 a.m., Rev. Stephen Huntley officiating. Cremation will follow at Woodland Crematorium, Guelph with interment of cremated remains with her parents at Belsyde Cemetery, Fergus at a later date. GHUMAN, Nasib Kaur - At Guelph General Hospital, on Friday, September 27, 2002. Nasib Ghuman, in her 83rd year. Beloved wife of Joginder Singh Ghuman. Loved mother of Amrik Ghuman and his wife Kashmir of England, Charn Ghuman and his wife Devinder, Jagir Ghuman and his wife Surinder, all of Guelph and four daughters in India. Loved grandmother of Pinki, Indu, Sukha, Jass and eight grandchildren in India. Friends may call at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL-McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (from 6:30 - 9 p.m. Sunday). Service at the Woodlawn Mauseleum on Monday, September 30 at 11 a.m. Cremation Woodlawn Crematorium.

BLACK, Marion Osborne - Celebrating and Remembering the Life of Marion Osborne Black, born December 4, 1907, in Guelph, Ont., to Violet and Albert Riddolls. She was educated in Guelph, taking a secretarial course at Guelph Collegiate. On August 14, 1928, she married Roy Wesley Black and they lived happily in Guelph for 37 years until Roy's death in 1965. One daughter, Marilyn Anne was born to them. In 1990 Marion moved west to be close to her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. She took up residence in South View Place in Langenburg, Sask. and remained there until she became unable to continue living on her own. She then became a resident of the Langenburg Special Care Home from February 2000 until her passing. Marion's greatest attributes were a deep and unfailing faith in God and a great love and concern for her family, friends and others around her. Marion passed away, peacefully, at the Langenburg Special Care Home, on Friday, Sept. 27, 2002, at the age of 94. She leaves to mourn her one sister, Viola (Fred) Hart of Mississauga; one brother, Harold (predeceased by his wife Eileen) Riddolls of Ingersoll; in Saskatchewan, her daughter, Marilyn and son-in-law, Don Wyand of Langenburg; three children, Paula (Barry) Popick of Regina, Patricia Wyand of Regina and Ronald Wyand of Prince Albert; two great-grandchildren, Courtney and Tyler Popick of Regina; also two nephews, Lawrence (Judi) Riddolls of Guelph and Donald (Madalene) Riddolls of Maple Creek, Sask. We will all miss her love, encouragement, understanding and concern, but she leaves us with many happy memories and one outstanding example for living. A committal service will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, in Guelph, on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002 at 2 p.m. A gathering for family and friends will follow at Wall-Custance Funeral Home located at 206 Norfolk St.
