Solomon, Velma

Suddenly on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, at the age of 77 years, Velma Ritchie Solomon, of the Saugeen First Nation, wife of Patrick Solomon, mother of Donald of Owen Sound Hank and his wife Sharon of Saugeen First Nation, David and Roderick, both of Owen Sound, Bonnie McCue of Niagara Falls, Sally Solomon Kellestine of Sarnia, and Tim ol Barrie. Velma is survived by 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, one sister Louise Mitchell of Saugeen First Nation, and is predeceased by one son Ronald, and by one grandson, by her sisters Alvina Nashkewa, Thelma Ritchie, and Myrtle Austin, and brothers Wilson, Nelson and Leslie Ritchie..

Friends may call at the Saugeen Full Gospel Church, Scotch Settlement Rd., Saugeen First Nation, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted in the church on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.

Interment French Bay Cemetery.

McAngus, Edith

At the Grey-Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound, on Friday. Sept. 28 2001, at the age of 83 years, the former Edith Yuill. Wife of Donald Alexander McAngus of Paisley. Dear mother of Donald McAngus and his wife Debbie of Paisley, and James Hopper and his wife Nancy of Sarnia. Grandma of Sarah, Graham, Bree-Ann and Kevin. She is also survived by her sister Mary McArthur of Paisley, her sisters-in-law, Myrtle Yuill, and Wilda Lamont and her husband Alex, and by many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her first husband John “Jack” Hopper, and by her brothers Jim and John Yuill.

Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Paisley Chapel, 216 Queen St. S., Paisley, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday. Funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m, with the Rev. John Baker officiating.

Interment Douglas Hill Cemetery.

Inglis, Gladys May

Went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 20th, 2001, with her family around her, the former Gladys Kingston of Paisley. Beloved wife to the late Wilford Inglis. Loving mother of Jean Anne and her husband William Madsen of Mayerthorpe, Alberta, Evelyn and her husband Rev. Robin Ross of Mission, British Columbia, Mary and her husband Stan Norris of Conestogo, and Grace Inglis of Kitchener. Special grandmother of Carelle McKellan, John and David Ross, Frederick, Nancy and Nelles Madsen, and Krista-Lyn, Matthew and Kyle Norris. Dear brother of William John Kingston of Dobbinton and brother-in-law of John Pickering of England. She is predeceased by her parents and by her sisters Myrtle McKay and Phyllis Pickering.

Friends may call at the Knox United Church, Paisley on Monday, from 2 to 3pm. Funeral service will be conducted in Knox United Church on Monday at 3:00 p.m

Thede, Hazel Mae

At London Health Sciences Centre, University Site, on Monday, September 17th, 2001, at the age of 77, the former Hazel Hall of Saugeen Township. Loving wife of Ralph Thede of Saugeen Township. Dear mother of Frances and her husband Paul Maurer, Tom and his wife Sharon, Ron and his wife Mary, all of Saugeen Township, Willa and her husband Keith Faust of Arran Township, Dianne and her husband Mike Primeau of Port Elgin, and Barry and his wife Wendy of Erin. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Lori and her husband Greg McKibbon, Daryl Faust, Mindy Maurer and her friend Fran Guilherme, Marcy Maurer, Chantel, Blayne and Megan Primeau, Lisa, Megan, and Michelle McCarrell, Evan Thede, Amanda, Natasha, Christopher and Rebecca Thede. Sister of Murray Hall, Lewis Hall, Eoin Hall, Tom Hall and Hildreth Clark. She is predeceased by an infant daughter and by her brother Bob Hall

Suddenly as a result of an accident on Friday, September 7th, 2001 at the age of 46 years, Harvey Mitchell of Port Elgin. Dear father of Alan of Kitchener, Trudy of Southampton and Sandra of Port Elgin. He is also survived by his former wife Lori Mitchell of Port Elgin. Grandfather of Darren Theodore and Summer Marie. Brother of Gary Mitchell of Cargill, Leonard Mitchell of Hepworth, Elva Carter of Cargill and Linda Bruder of Formosa. He is predeceased by his parents Wilbert and Jeanette Mitchell.

Latimer, Godfrey Reid

At his residence on Saturday, September 8th, 2001, in his 73rd year, Reid Latimer of Port Elgin. Husband of the former Hazel Gibson. Father of Al and his wife Jean of Kincardine, Randy and his wife Karen of Port Elgin, Wayne and his wife Kim of Oshawa, Debra and her husband Wayne Marks of Port Elgin, and Dawn Latimer of Hanover. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, his brother Bernard Latimer of Brockville and his sisters-in-law Donna Latimer of Gananoque and Lorraine Latimer of Brockville. Predeceased by five brothers and two sisters.

Kennedy, Jesse "Birt"

At Gateway Haven in Wiarton, on Friday, Feb. 1st, 2002, Birt Kennedy. Husband of the former Thelma "Lou" Schell, father of Charles Kennedy of Port Elgin, Francis and her husband Tom Grey of Jupiter, Florida, and Catharine and her husband Stephen Castagneto of Ridgefield, Connecticut. Also surviving are five grandchildren. Predeceased by his mother Francis Staley and by his aunt JoAnne Giaquinto. Friends may call at the W. Funeral service will take place in the Chapel on Tuesday 1:00p.m., with Rev. Margaret Greenhow officiating.

Woodley, Janet Elizabeth Harding

At the Southampton Care Centre, Janet Woodley of Southampton (Saugeen Shores), formerly of Toronto, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 31, 2002 at the age of 86. She will be dearly missed by her sisters-in-law Georgie Woodley of Port Elgin and Mary Smithies of Little Britian. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Ann and her husband Ed Hartnett of Hamilton, Ted Woodley and his wife Sheila of Little Britian, Bruce Woodley and his wife Jeanette of Stouffville, and Allison and her husband David Stevens of Port Elgin, and many great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers Robert and Reginald.

Friends may call at the Melrose Baptist Church, 375 Melrose Ave., Toronto on Monday from 12 to 1 p.m. Funeral service will take place in the Church on Monday at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Havercroft and Pastor Duguid officiating.

At the Walkerton Hospital, on Wednesday, January 30th, 2002 in her 74th year, the former Dorothy Miller of Paisley. Dear mother of Gary and his wife Dona of Gravenhurst, Sandra and her husband Brian Tait of Ottawa, Carol and her husband Ken Anderson of Paisley, and Bill and his wife Linda of Foxcreek, Alberta. She is also survived by her son-in-law David Hagedorn of Walkerton. Grandmother of Jason, Ryan, and Tara Rolston, Erin and Sarah Tait, Todd and Carrie Anderson, Andrea and Alicia Hagedorn, and Melissa, Cody, and Caitlyn Rolston. She is predeceased by her husband John, daughter Linda Hagedorn, brothers, Wilfred and William and sisters, Mary and Theresa.
