FRASER - Maxine
At the North Bay General Hospital, Scollard Site on Monday January 5, 2004. Loving mother of James Fraser of North Bay, Catherine Ruth (Ray) of Kitchener, Jane Fraser (Victor Veltri) of North Bay and Donald Fraser (Tina) also of North Bay. Sadly missed by grandchildren Scott McKenzie, Steven Boutilier (Terri), Julie Martin (Rob), Michael Fraser and Justin Gilfoil and great grandchildren Kyla and Lauren Martin. Survived by her sister Joan Morris (Frank) of North Bay and sister-in-law Laurie McIntaggart of Ottawa. Spouse of Byron. Predeceased by her brother Edward McIntaggart. A private family service was held at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.

BEATON - Charles Kenneth
Charles Kenneth Beaton passed away suddenly at the North Bay General Hospital on Friday January 9, 2004 at the age of 85 years. He is survived by his beloved wife Elsie (nee Rye). Loving father of William (Darlene) of North Bay, John (Patty) of Waterloo and Margaret Belanger (John) of Peterborough. Proud grandfather of Shawn and Jason Belanger and proud uncle to many nieces and nephews. Brother of Bernice Conrad of North Bay, Muriel Down of Vancouver and brother in law of Mabel Bradford of North Bay. Predeceased by his brother Jack and sister Francis Kelly. A member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 23, Nipissing Lodge # 420 A.F. & A.M., and the Rorab Shrine Club. Charlie was a former long time employee of the city of North Bay. Working in both the tax and water departments he retired in 1982 after more than thirty five years of service. Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Monday afternoon from 2 - 4 p.m. No evening visitation. Funeral services will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday January 13th at 11:00 a.m. Spring interment in St. John's Anglican Cemetery.

BULLOCK - Violet
Passed away January 9, 2004 at the Nipissing Manor. Beloved wife of the late Harold Gordon Bullock, in her 82nd year. Loving mother of Diane Beamish and her husband Don of Corbeil, Sharon Gauthier and her husband Dan of Cochrane, Ron Bullock and his wife Heather of Prince Rupert, B.C. and Maureen Desrocher and her husband Gary Quast of Houston, B.C. Lovingly remembered by her 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Dearly loved sister of Bessie of Picton, Wilva of Gravenhurst, Margaret of Sunnybrook, Alberta and Walter of Eau Claire. Predeceased by her parents Leonard & Mary Walker and by her siblings Alvin & Edith. A Memorial Service will be held MARTYN FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL on Saturday, May 1st, at 11:00 am.

If desired, donations to the Alzheimer's Society or to a Charity of Choice will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.

DeFREITAS (nee Hargrave) - Janice (McParland)
At the North Bay General Hospital on Tuesday January 13, 2004 in her 66th year after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Loving wife of Randy and the late Earl (Buck) McParland. Mother of MaryLou (Phil) LeBlanc, Tom (Fran) McParland and Carolyn (Jerry) Pitman. Stepmother of Philip (Linda), John, Clement and Stephen (Christine) DeFreitas. Grandmother of Carla Petersen, Kristina and Matthew McParland and Eric Pitman and step grandmother of Shane, Tammy, Adam, Joshua, Ryan and Sharley DeFreitas. Predeceased by her parents Doug and Marion Hargrave. Janice coached ringette for many years starting in the early 1960's. She was a recipient of the Agnes Jacks Ambassador Award. Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 11 am. Cremation at the Forest Lawn Crematorium (Tower Dr.)

ROBINSON - Joanne Rita
Joanne was the beloved mother of Craig, in her 37th year. Loving daughter of Huguette "Yogi" and her husband Clarence May. Predeceased by her father Donald Robinson. Dearly loved sister of Dennis Robinson and his wife Shirley of North Bay, Donna and her husband Steve Holliday of British Columbia, Christine and her husband Bob Scalise of Alberta, Derek Davis and his wife Chantel also of North Bay and step sister Lisa and her husband Paul Deschamp of Trenton. Lovingly remembered by her thirteen nieces and nephews and one great niece. She will be fondly remembered by her aunt and uncles especially her Aunt Eileen and by her cousins especially Melanie. Joanne's family will receive friends in the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Services from the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday at 3:00 pm. Cremation at the Forest Lawn Crematorium will follow.

SERRAN (nee (nee AULBROOK): ) - Eileen Maude
Passed away at the North Bay General Hospital - Scollard Site, on Friday, January 16th, 2004. Eileen was the loving wife of the late Joseph Henry Serran. She was predeceased by her son David Serran, by her parents Henry (Harry) and Maude Aulbrook (nee Fisher), by a great grandchild Robert and by her siblings Rose Bieuz, Clarence Aulbrook and Buddie Alfred Aulbrook (January 17, 2004). She will be greatly missed by her children Jack (Elsie) Serran of North Bay, Robert (Lorraine) Serran of Bradford, Richard Serran of North Bay, Carol Lusk (Brian) of North Bay, Daniel (Doris) Serran of Welland, Marlene Perron (Bernard) of Astorville and Katherine Humphreys (Michael Armstrong) of Ottawa. Lovingly remembered by her 19 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She will also be missed by her brothers Frank (Vera) Aulbrook of Haileybury, Bill (Marlene) Aulbrook, Leonard (Cheryl) Aulbrook and sister Betty Gagne (Bob) all of Welland. Visitation for Eileen will be held in the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from City Hall) today from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Services from the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, January 20th, at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery.

AULBROOK - Buddie Alfred
Passed away at the North Bay General Hospital - Scollard Site, on Saturday, January 17, 2004. Buddie was predeceased by his parents Henry (Harry) and Maude Aulbrook (nee Fisher), by his siblings Rose Bieuz, Clarence Aulbrook and Eileen Maude Serran (January 16, 2004). He will be missed by his brothers Frank (Vera) Aulbrook of Haileybury, Bill (Marlene) Aulbrook, Leonard (Cheryl) Aulbrook and sister Betty Gagne (Bob) all of Welland. McKEE - Norma Ruth
Born March 11, 1919 in Sudbury, ON, passed away after a brief battle with lung Cancer on Saturday, January 17, 2004.She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 68 years, John (Jack) McKee of North Bay, and son David (Irene) of Callander, granddaughter Allison McKee Sellon (Mark) and great granddaughters Isabelle and Anna of Basking Ridge New Jersey, granddaughter Andrea McKee O'Leary (Joe) of Portland Oregon, son in law E.J. Roche (Gail) of North Bay, grandsons Kevin and Curtis Roche of North Bay, grandson Scott Roche (Laurence) and great granddaughter Lana Marilynn of Atlanta Georgia and sister June LaFrance of North Bay and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by daughters Marilynn Roche and Joanne McKee, grandson Jeff Roche, parents Fred & Anne Ferris, sisters Eleanor Heller of St. Catherines, Dorothy Calcott of Stratford, Marjorie Labrick of North Bay and brother Lloyd Ferris of North Bay. Ruth was a lady of courage who took pride in her grandchildren and great grandchildren and shared a joyful Christmas with them all this year.There will be no visitation, and at Ruth's request her cremated remains will be interred at a graveside service next to her daughter Joanne in Hawkesbury, Ontario. Arrangements entrusted to the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across for City Hall)

ABRAHAMSEN - Cora Agnes
Peacefully at the North Bay General Hospital on Monday January 19th, 2004 at the age of 79 years. Beloved wife of the late Reidar (Roy) Christian Abrahamsen, whom she married in Toronto on February 27, 1943. Together for 61 years Roy predeceased her October 26, 2003. Proud and loving mother of Randi (Roland) Gailus of Toronto and Bob Abrahamsen of North Bay. Dear grandmother of Jillian (Rosie) McLaren of Toronto. Predeceased by her brother James L. Pearson. Cora will be sadly missed by her special friends Sheldon and Helen McLaren . Love and thanks to Inez McIntyre our special angel. Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held in the Martyn Funeral Chapel at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday January 22nd, 2004, with Pastor Jerry Slote officiating. FENNELL - Harold
Suddenly at North Bay General Hospital, Scollard Site on Monday January 19, 2004 in his 82nd year. Dear husband of Marjorie. Loving father of Jim (Cheryl) of Yellowknife, Tom of Toronto, Nancy Francis of Peterborough, Bill (Leesee) of Iqualuit, Ron (Debbie) of North Bay and Bruce of Saskatoon. Sadly missed by grandchildren Zane, Cody, Bill, Marjorie, Charles, Nya, Aqqula, Nuka, Jennifer, Laura, Holly, Jody, Michael and T.J. and by great grandchildren Tyler, Alexander and Duncan. Survived by sisters Louise Nolan and Jean Schaffer and by nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Margaret Hardman. Harold was an avid member of the North Bay Carving Club most recently carving several of the horses for the North Bay Heritage Carousel. He was also a member of the North Bay Lapidary Club and a 42 year employee of Ontario Hydro. Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Wednesday from 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday at 2 pm. Cremation at the Forest Lawn Crematorium (Tower Dr.).

KRAMER - Josef Jakob '"Joe"'
At the North Bay General Hospital on Wednesday January 21st, 2004 after a lengthy struggle with kidney disease. Born in Germany on January 22, 1932, Joe was the beloved husband of Janet (nee Kidd). They celebrated their 47th anniversary this past November. Proud and loving father of Karen (Daryl) of Winnipeg, Gary (Diane) of Welland and Heide (Ron) of Calgary. Cherished grandfather of Melissa (Chris), Jessica, Andrew, Christopher, Kevin and Melanie. Also survived by his sisters Luise Ellis of California and Maria Noe (Edi) of Germany. Joe will be lovingly remembered by his mother-in-law Emily Holland of North Bay, son-in-law Allen, sister-in-law Eleanor Crossley (Jim), of Florida, brother-in-law Jim Kidd (Ellen) of Nipissing, his many special nieces and nephews, and close friends Denis and Linda. Joe received wonderful care from the Renal Unit staff and doctors for which his family is eternally grateful. And finally, but not last, Joe will be sadly missed by his faithful canine companion Thea, who held a special place in his heart. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. Joe's family will receive friends in the Fireside room at Trinity United Church, 111 McIntyre St. E., on Sunday, February 1st, 2004, from 1:00p.m to 3:00 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held in the sanctuary at 3:00 p.m.Arrangements entrusted to the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME

DAVIS - Edith Mary Jane
Passed away at the North Bay General Hospital-Scollard Site, on Wednesday, January 21, 2004. Edith Courvoisier, was the beloved wife of the late William Davis (1972), at the age of 87 years. Loving mother of Ron Davis and his wife Peggy of North Bay, Darrel Davis of North Bay, Doug Davis of Langley, B.C., Don Davis and his wife Collette of North Bay, Wilma and her husband Ray Petre of Port Perry, Lo-Ann Willms and her husband Val Kortschaga of North Bay, Helen and her husband Bill Kerr of North Bay and Barbara and her husband Ron Irish of Vancouver. Predeceased by her sons Wayne and John "Doc" Davis. She will be lovingly remembered by her 27 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Dearly loved sister of Mickey Halland, Bunny and her husband Edouard Kristufek and Reta Stafford. Also predeceased by her siblings James, Myrtle (Pat) and Helen Courvoisier. Edith's family will receive friends in the Martyn Funeral Home (across from City Hall) on Monday from 2- 4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held from the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, January 27th, at 1:30 PM. Interment to follow in the Spring at Terrace Lawn Cemetery.

At Cassellholme, North Bay, on Wednesday January 21st, 2004. Jean E. Merlin, beloved wife of the late Edwin K. Capstick, in her 84th year. Proud and loving mother of Lyle and his wife Joanne of Minneapolis, and Marilyn and her husband Larry Oram of Fort McMurray, Alberta. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Jonathan, Jarrett, Meghan, and David. Dear sister of John "Jack" Merlin of Thunder Bay. Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME(across from city hall) on Sunday evening from 7- 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in St. Andrew's United Church at 11: a.m. on Monday January 26th, 2004. She will be sadly missed by 5 grandchildren; George (Carrie), Normand, Steve, Lise, Neil and 3 great grandchildren. Loved sister-in-law of Isabel (Friend Jack).
