Jean Mary Dowsley

1912 - 2004

At St. Lawrence Lodge on September 25, 2004 in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Oscar Dowsley. Dear mother of Robert Dowsley and his wife Judith of R.R. 2 Mallorytown. Dear grandmother of Michele, Taylor and Kent (Theresa) Dowsley and Kevin and Karen Knott. Also survived by two great grandchildren Cameron and Sylvan Dowsley. Predeceased by a daughter Rosalie Knott and by a brother Joe Gibson.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Monday from 7 - 9 p.m. In celebration of Jean's life a ceremony will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday at 1:30 pm. Interment will follow at Escott Cemetery. In remembrance, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

James Norman Lowe

1925 - 2004

Suddenly, in Quebec City on Friday, September 24th 2004. Norman, in his 80th year. Farther of Ross of Erie, PA., Stephen of Edmonton, Alta., dearly beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Murray) Lowe and brother-in-law of Phyllis Lowe of North York ON.

Norman was born in 1925 in Quebec City and spent his childhood in Cochrane, Ont. In 1943 while en-route to Ottawa he met his true love for whom he was married to for 54 years. Norman retired as Historical Projects Officer for Canadian National Railway in 1988.

A private family ceremony was held. In lieu of flowers "Kind Thoughts". Cremation took place at the Roselawn Crematorium, Maitland.

Arrangements entrusted to the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel.

Dr. James Preston Robb

1914 - 2004

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Dr. Preston Robb at the Brockville General Hospital on Saturday, September 25, 2004 at the age of 90 years. Beloved husband of Mary (Waller) Robb of Brockville. Father of David Robb (Mary) of Victoria, B.C., Christopher Robb (Phyllis) of Calgary, Alta., Alison Robb (Richard Welburn) of Lyn and Bruce Robb (Rachel) of Bowmanville. Fondly remembered by seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and by two sisters.

A celebration of Dr. Robb's life will be held at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Saturday, October 2, 2004 at 2 pm followed by a gathering in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Cremation will take place at the Roselawn Crematorium, Maitland. In honour of Dr. Robb, donations to the Montreal Neurological Institute, 3801 University St., Montreal, Que., H3A 2B4 would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.

Charles Jones

1927 - 2004

At his residence on Monday, October 11, 2004 at the age of 77 years. Dear son of Margaret Jones of England and the late Thomas Jones. Beloved husband of Elsie (Jackson) Jones of Maitland. Loving father of Phillip (Patty) Jones, Barbara Jones-Jackson (David), Scott Jones (Shannon) and Tracey Jones. Dear grandfather of Rochelle, Stephanie, Vicki, Stacey, Timothy, Blake, Megan, Holly, Kara and Cameron. Also survived by his brothers George Jones (Joyce) and Alan Jones (Margaret) and by his nephew Lawrence Jones (Paula) and their children Matthew, Nicola and Cory.

A private family gathering will take place at the Roselawn Tribute Centre and Crematorium, Maitland followed by cremation. In remembrance of Mr. Jones, Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Lung Association would be gratefully acknowledged by the Family. Arrangements entrusted to the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville.

John R. MacDonald

1946 - 2004

Suddenly at his residence on Monday, October 11, 2004 at the age of 57 years. Loving father of Lynn Chisamore (Gord), Vince MacDonald (Karen) and Jennifer Conners (Scott). Cherished grandfather of Adam, Sydney, Alex, Caitlin, Sarah and Tara. Dear brother of Lynn Deir (John), Laurie Darling (Larry) and Bill MacDonald (Marg). Fondly remembered by his good friend Brenda Cowles and by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and by two great great nieces. Predeceased by his Parents Percy MacDonald and Margaret Ballantyne and by his brother Garry MacDonald.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A celebration of John's life will be held in the Chapel on Saturday at 11 am. Cremation will follow at the Roselawn Crematorium, Maitland with interment at Oakland Cemetery at a later date. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged.

Ian Smith Grave

1922 - 2004

Peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital on Wednesday, October 13, 2004 at the age of 82 years. Beloved husband of Rita Grave of Brockville. Loving father of Christine Panet (David) of Brampton and grandfather of Dylan Panet. Also survived by step-children Daniel, Michele, John, Michael and Ted Healey and step-grandchildren Charlotte, Rachel, Emma and Maxwell. Fondly remembered by his dear nephew Christopher (Alison) of Scotland. Predeceased by his first wife Marion and by his four older brothers.

Private cremation will take place at the Roselawn Crematorium, Maitland with a memorial service to be held at a later date. In remembrance, donations to the Brockville Public Library Roots and Wings Fund would be gratefully acknowledged. Claudia Fournier

Passed away unexpected at her home in Brockville on Sunday, October 17, 2004. Beloved mother of Julie Henry (Dan Pike) of Almonte, and Patrick Henry (Laurie) of Prescott. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Adam, Jacob, Allison and Samuel Pike; Stephanie and Megan Henry. Loving daughter of Claude Brillinger and his wife Eileen of Ridgetown, and was predeceased by her mother Louella Brillinger. Claudia is also survived by her sister Sharon Babcock (Hal) of Orangeville; by her nieces Sarah and Kate, and by her aunt and uncle Eulah and John Williamson of Markham.

In celebration of Claudia's life a ceremony will be held in the Irvine Chapel on Wednesday at 1 o'clock. Cremation will follow at Roselawn Crematorium, Maitland. In remembrance, donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Leeds and Grenville will be gratefully acknowledged.

Harry Robert Usher

1929 - 2004

At the Brockville General Hospital on October 18, 2004 in his 76th year following a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of June Hill Usher. Dear father of Ted Usher (Karen), Susan Curtis-Villar (Lee) and Jeff Usher . Dear grandfather of Kim, Kerri, Jodi, Angela, Lori and Vicki.

A memorial service will be held in St. Paul's Anglican Church on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Cremation was held at Roselawn Crematorium, Maitland. In memoriums to the Ottawa Regional Cancer, or St. Paul's Anglican Church Memorial Fund will be gratefully acknowledged.

Christopher Henderson

1965 - 2004

Suddenly on Saturday, October 23, 2004 at the age of 38 years. Dear son of James and Rosemary Henderson. Beloved husband of Maryann (Bird) Henderson of Lyn. Loving father of Kyle and Justin Henderson. Son-in-law of Jim and Mary Bird. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and a niece.

A celebration of Chris' life will be held in the chapel on Friday at 11 am followed by cremation at the Roselawn Tribute Centre and Crematorium, Maitland. On Thursday, October 28, 2004 at St. Lawrence Lodge at the age of 81 years. Beloved wife of the late Cornell Harold Hutton. Loving mother of Bob Hutton and his wife Lois of North Bay, and Terry Hutton of Brockville. Dear grandmother of Richard Hutton. Predeceased by a sister Mary Levine and by two brothers Frank and Bill Cahill.

At the Brockville General Hospital on November 8, 2004, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Bridget (Bridie) Rogers Peer. Dear father of Michael and his wife Brenda and Carol Clark and her husband Elton. Father-in-law of Kathy Peer (John). Loving grandfather to Kathy Wohlfahrt (Brian), Dawn Burbridge (Roy), Marlo and Crystal Peer. Great grandfather ot Sierra Burbridge. Dear brother-in-law to Julia Ryan (Jim). Predeceased by a son Brian, a brother Gary, and by two sisters Betty Portieous and Jean Dalton.

A private family graveside service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Maitland, on Friday November 12th. Arrangements are entrusted with the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville. In memoriums to the the War Amps or the Hospice of Providence Palliative Care will be gratefully acknowledged.
