Erickson, Raymond 1929-2009

Erickson, Raymond Thorvald

It is with deep sadness that we, Betty and Rayburn Erickson announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Raymond, on April 24th, 2009.

Ray was born February 15, 1929 in Moose Jaw, Sask., the eighth child in a family of fifteen. He grew up on a homestead near Big River, Sask, and spent most of his working years in Ontario. Ray loved his family, friends, and pets. Playing the guitar, singing, and listening to music along with his family were his favorite pastimes. He loved to reminisce about “the good old days”. Ray’s sense of humor highlighted his story telling.

Ray is survived his beloved wife Betty and son Rayburn, his six children from his first marriage: Gerald, Sandra, Raymond, Rodney, Cindy, Valerie, his five step children: Debbie, Donna, Judy, Kathy, Pansy, and many grand children and great grandchildren. He will also be greatly missed by his 3 sisters, 5 brothers and their families. Raymond was predeceased by his parents, children Deborah, Jamie, Karen, his 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

Arrangements have been entrusted to BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1010 Botanical Dr, BURLINGTON (905-527-0405). At Ray’s request, there will be no funeral. A celebration of Ray’s life will be held at a later date.

Espiritu, Dolores 1959-2010

Peacefully at the Hamilton General Hospital on Friday March 5, 2010. Dolores Espiritu in her 51st year. Beloved wife of Abner Espiritu. Loving mother of Kimberly. Dearest daughter of Elena and Candido Hezeta. Dear sister of Amalia, Marites, Raymundo and Richard. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME “William J. Markey Chapel” 947 Rymal Road East HAMILTON (905) 574-0405 on Monday March 8, 2010 from 7 – 9 p.m. and Tuesday March 9, 2010 from 11 – 1 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Margaret Mary Parish, 20 Idlewood Ave. Hamilton, on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Father Bill Trusz celebrant. Interment Resurrection cemetery.

Evans (nee McIntyre), Carol 2009-2009

Peacefully, at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington on Tuesday, December 15, 2009. Carol, beloved wife of John Evans. Loving mother of Peter, Cathy, David (Judy), Nancy (Brian), Carolyn (Vic), Dody (Terry), and Les (Lisa). Predeceased by her parents Les and Jean McIntyre, her sister Doreen and her beloved son Johnny. Carol will be sadly missed by her 12 grandchildren, her great-granddaughter and will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and friends. Carol was a very special lady who will be lovingly remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who was always there when needed. Carol was a volunteer at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital for over 20 years. The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Michael Foster and the staff of 4 East at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital for their compassion and care. Visitation at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1010 Botanical Drive (across from Bayview cemetery , Crematory & Mausoleum) BURLINGTON (905-527-0405) on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel on Friday, December 18, 2009 at 3 p.m. In honour of her sister Doreen, memorial donations may be made to the A.L.S. Society of Canada.

Peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the Hamilton General Hospital on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at the age of 62. Loving mother of Terri Turner (Darrin) and Darren. Cherished Nana of Malik and Jade Turner. Dear sister of Bob Weaver (Judy). Visitation at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 947 Rymal Road E., HAMILTON (between Upper Gage and Upper Ottawa) 905.547.0405 on Friday September 5, 2008 from 10 a.m. until time of Memorial Service in the Chapel at 11 a.m. Cremation has taken place. Fallon, Marlene 1953-2008

Peacefully on Monday November 10, 2008, Marlene Stewart Fallon of Burlington left us. Loving life partner, soul mate and best friend of Casey. Dear sister of Suzanne (Sue) Stewart of London. Predeceased by her beloved parents, Bob and Edna Stewart. Dear sister in law of Darcy Fallon of Delaware and Sandra Fallon of London. Also predeceased by mother in law, Ellen and brother in law, Chris. Special cousin of Lorraine Stade, her daughters Jennifer and Tracy and treasured friend to countless. Her compassion and commitment to her health promotion programs with the Canadian Cancer Society, the Ontario Breast Screening Program and Hamilton Public Health's Healthy Workplace Program prevented or led to the early detection of more serious diseases for so many of us. Her enthusiasm was as infectious as her laugh and her smile. Marlene was also instrumental in her work with Zonta in helping women around the world. But it was Marlene's true friendship that enriched so many of our lives. Friends will be received at Bay Gardens Funeral Home at 1010 Botanical Drive, Burlington (905-527-0405) on Monday November 17, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friends will also be received at Westview Funeral Home, 709 Wonderland Road N., London on Thursday November 20, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Celebration of Marlene's life will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel on Friday November 21, 2008 at 12 noon. To honour Marlene's great love of animals in need, a donation to the your local humane society would be greatly appreciated.

FAMA, Gary May 16, 1951 - August 3, 2008 Peacefully at his home, Gary passed away. Loving father of Jessica. Proud son of Barbara and the late Fred and beloved brother to Rick, Karen and her husband Ted. Gary will be sadly missed by his nephews Mark and Kyle and his niece Kim. He was a proud employee of 30 years at the Hamilton Street Railway. Fama, Shirley 1938-2008

FAMA, Shirley (nee McCabe) It is with great sadness that the family of Shirley Fama announces her passing at McMaster Medical Centre on Monday, November 24, 2008. Wife of Dominic and mother of Steven and Jamie Fama, grandmother of Landon and Rowan. Shirley was predeceased by her parents Catherine and Charles McCabe, her sister Eileen Baynes and her niece Cynthia Fowler. Dear sister of Mary Jelly and her husband Kenneth Jelly and Grant McCabe and his wife Marie McCabe. She will be fondly remembered by her nephews Daniel and Matthew Jelly, David and Greg Baynes and her niece Catherine Robertson. She will also always be remembered by her lifelong friends Joyce and Christine Harley. Shirley was an enormously kind and caring person and devoted mother and grandmother. She loved children and animals and came to their aid when needed, giving generously of herself. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment service will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Shirley to the Animal Welfare Association would be sincerely appreciated by the family.

After a brief illness, Betty passed away peacefully at the Henderson General Hospital, Hamilton on Thursday, June 10, 2010. Beloved wife of the late Dr. John L. Farrar. Survived by her niece Mary Jane and her nephews Richard, William and James. In keeping with Betty’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 1010 Botanical Drive, Burlington (905.527.0405).

Fede, Donato 1939-2008

After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful husband, great father and loving nonno, peacefully in his home with his family by his side on September 7, 2008. Donato will be sadly missed but forever in her heart by his wife of 42 years Anna Fede, much loved father and father-in-law of Cristina Fede and John Costa, Oreste and Penny Fede, and Danny and Stella Fede, dearly loved nonno of Carlos Jr., Oreste Jr., Nicholas and future grandchild. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Salvatore and Berta Fede, Felicetta and the late Frank Paladino, Carlo and Graziella Fede, the late Maria Fede, Alda and the late Frank DiCesare, the late Rina Cocco and Adolfo Cocco, the late Teresa Alfieri and Fausto Alfieri, the late Gino Fede and Antonietta Fede, the late Luciano Iezzi and Lucia Iezzi and Lella and Lorenzo Guardiano. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special thanks to staff at the Juravinski Cancer Clinic, VON nurses and Dr. Henderson for all their care and compassion. W.) Interment to follow in the family plot in Mountview Gardens cemetery , Stoney Creek. My husband, our father, our nonno has now gone to heaven and is now our guardian angel.

At the Carpenter Hospice, Burlington, on Monday, September 15, 2008 in her 91st year. Beloved wife of George for 65 years. Survived by son David (Ellen), grandson Jason (Lisa), all of Ontario, and granddaughter Laura (Nigel), great-grandson Dylan, twin sister Moyra and many nieces and nephews., all of the U.K. Predeceased by daughter Rita and brother Reverend Harry Oldham and his wife Susan. Visitation at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1010 Botanical Dr., (across from the Royal Botanical Gardens), BURLINGTON (905-527-0405) on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 from 2 – 4 p.m. In accordance with Mary’s wishes cremation will take place at Bayview Crematorium, Burlington. A private interment will take place at a later date in the family plot at St. Jude’s cemetery , Oakville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Carpenter Hospice, Burlington or a charity of your choice, would be appreciated.

Cherished mother of Lynn (Glenn), Paula (Rod) and Roy. Cherished grandmother of Craig, Kyle, Ryan, Brenden, Lauren and Crystal. Will be fondly remembered by brother Philip and sister in-law Barbara and nephews.
