Peacefully, after a lengthy illness at St. Vincent Hospital on Monday, November 29, 2010 in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late Clifton Taylor, Graham Poultney and Ernest Payne. Dear mother of Elizabeth Mary Taylor, Kampala Uganda, Karen Ann Campbell of Middlesboro, England and the late Thomas Clifton Taylor. Beloved mother-in-law of Marivic J. Taylor. Cherished grandmother of Neil Taylor, Sandra, Steven, Paul, Ian and Beth Campbell. Loving sister of Margaret Siriani, and the late Joe, and Mike Whittaker, Lilly Kennedy, Frances Dunn and Theresa Morris. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Dr. P. Crabtree and the nursing staff of St. Vincent Hospital for their compassionate care. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held in the upstairs lounge of the Westboro Legion, 391 Richmond Road, Ottawa on Saturday, December 4, 2010 from 1 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Vincent Hospital or the Westboro Branch #480 of the Royal Canadian Legion.

Left to mourn are his beloved wife of 69 years, Doris Blow and their daughters, Helen Petrie (Jack) of Carleton Place and Faye Ireland (the late Walter) of Mississauga. Loving ‘Poppa’ to Krista Petrie-Wallace (Glenn); Joshua Clarke; Scott Petrie (Trish); and Jared Ireland. Great grandfather to 3 week old Sam Petrie. Predeceased by his infant son Timothy; his parents, Daisy and Harold Blow; and his twin sister, Lillian Lawrence. A man of integrity, intellect, honour and humour, Alfred received great pleasure from music (the louder the better!); books; his Church; dogs; the Roughriders; British comedies; his grandchildren’s sports games; cottage life at McLaren’s Landing; post retirement travel and, anything sweet to eat! Alf arrived in Canada in 1941 as a 22yr old instructor with the RAF and taught the new science of radar to the RCAF & USAF in Clinton, Ontario. There he met and married the love of his life, Doris. Throughout their married life, Doris and Alfred lived in England, Arnprior, Toronto, Ottawa & lastly, at ‘The Waterside’ in Carleton Place. Each move furthered Alf’s management career in electronics, culminating in the position of ‘General Manager of Racal Canada’ and ‘Managing Director of Racal Worldwide’. Alfred was a member of ‘The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’; the ‘Madawaska Lodge of the Masons’; and ‘The Ottawa Valley Theatre Organ Society’. Formerly: National President of the ‘Canadian Jr. Chamber of Commerce’; President of the ‘Arnprior Public Library Board’; People’s and Rector’s Warden of ‘St. Matthew’s Anglican Church’; and a graduate of the ‘Canadian Institute of Management’. The Family wishes to thank all the kind and dedicated professionals who helped with Alfred’s care during the past eighteen months. Cremation has taken place. A ‘Celebration of Alfred’s Life’ will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, (between Bayshore and Baseline Rd), Nepean. Visitation on Sunday December 5th from 2 – 4 p.m. Memorial service on Monday December 6th @ 2:30 pm. Burial is Tuesday at the Arnprior Municipal cemetery at 1:30 pm. Suddenly and peacefully, in hospital, on Tuesday, November 30th, 2010. She was the beloved mother of Scott and Jeff (Ashley), much loved sister of Grace (Ron Robillard) and Gavin (Maureen), dear friend of Veronica Cunningham and all those who were fortunate to know her. Florence was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and is predeceased by her parents Gerhard and Elizabeth Anderson. We will miss her very much. Special and adoring Pappa of Melissa and Emily. Uncle of Edith, Marga, Willi, Heidi and Hans. Predeceased by his parents Johann and Elisabeth (nee Dietrich) and brothers Willi and Heinz and sister Elisabeth. Peter will be fondly remembered by his extended family in Germany and his friends in Canada, United States and Germany. Peter and Edith came to Canada in the early 1950’s and settled in Toronto. He recently moved to Ottawa to be closer to his family. Saxberg, Major (ret'd) Robert W., CD
Unexpectedly at home on Sunday, December 5, 2010, age 78. Beloved husband of 47 years of Diane (Miller). Dear father of Lynn, Nancy and Rob (Larissa Patterson). Cherished granddad of Ken, Tom and Lauren. Son-in-law of Barbara Miller. Survived by sister Margaret Baxter (Paul), sister-in-law Audrey Saxberg, and many nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by brothers Alfred "Bud" and Richard "Dick" Saxberg. Born in Port Arthur, Ont., Bob was the son of Alfred and Sylvia Saxberg. Bob served 26 years in the RCAF as a fighter pilot before settling in Manotick. Following his retirement from the military, he divided his time between volunteer work in the community and puttering at the family cottage on Otter Lake, Ont. He and Diane also embarked on many camping adventures. A familiar and respected figure around the village, Bob always had a twinkle in his eye and a story for everyone he met. He was instrumental in organizing St. Urho's Day celebrations at the Miller's Oven in Manotick, an annual recognition of his Finnish heritage. The greatest source of pride in his life was his family; Bob loved the time he spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. It is with great sadness that we announce Molly’s passing at the Ottawa General Hospital on December 8, 2010 at the age of 77. Beloved mother of Peter of Vancouver and Susan of Toronto. Predeceased by her parents Harold and Stella Fisher (nee Crawford), her siblings Harold, Evelyn Oram, Lindsay and Donald. Survived by nephews Kenneth (Patricia) Fisher, Brian (Marguerite) Fisher, David (Anne) Oram and Christopher (Vanita) Oram. Also survived by her great nephews and great nieces, Ajit, Aidan, Mira, Charles, Meridith, George and Rebecca. Molly will be fondly remembered by her former spouse Keith and his family. She will be missed by the many friends she made during her career as a realtor, as a member of the First Unitarian Congregation and while pursuing her passion for horseback riding, accumulating master points and seeing the world. Her strength, humour and genuine nature will always inspire us. Thank you to Mario DaPonte and the wonderful team on 5East who brought light and compassion to Molly’s final weeks.
