R. Murray Crawford
passed away peacefully at Huronlea Home for the Aged on Saturday, July 5, 2003. He was born 82 years ago in Carlingford, Ontario, a son of the late William and Mary (Murray) Crawford. He resided in Cranbrook since his retirement from dairy farming in the Moncrieff and St. Marys areas. He was a member of the Oddfellows of Monkton, the Huron County Holsteins Club and served on the Ontario Federation of Agriculture as the Huron County Director for many years. While his passion for the dairy industry took up much of his time, he remained an avid baseball and hockey fan. Beloved husband of Freda (Pfohl) Crawford whom he married August 27, 1948. Loving father of Mary Lynn and Charles Bray of Elmwood, Glen and Brenda Crawford, Hugh and Joanne Crawford, all of Monkton. Cherished grandpa of Bonnie and Cindy Bray, Melanie and Trevor Bowles, Adam, Mark, Steven, Christopher Crawford and great- grandpa to Natasha. Dear brother of Marie and Don Simpson and Lillian and Art Masselis, all of St. Marys. Also remembered by his sister-in-law Betty Crawford of St. Marys and by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two little angels, his granddaughters Kelly and Vicki Crawford, his brother Jack Crawford and his sister Jean and her husband Chet Oliver. Murray s family will receive friends and relatives at the Peebles Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood on Monday, July 7 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. On Tuesday, July 8, 2003 visitation will continue from 1-2 p.m. when the service will take place in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow in Elma Centre cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Knox Presbyterian Church (Cranbrook) or a charity of one s choice would be appreciated by the family. Nealie Mae Boyd
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Nealie as a result of an automobile accident on Friday, July 25, 2003, in her 18th year. She resided at RR 2 Brussels, and was a bubbly, cheerful person who most enjoyed her family, a special bond with her brother Nash, hanging out with her many friends, listening to music, playing softball and going to hockey games. Nealie was about to enter her graduating year at St. Michael Catholic Secondary School in Stratford. Loving daughter of Bruce Boyd of RR 2 Brussels, and Rita and Jamie McTavish of Stratford. Cherished sister of Nash Boyd of RR 2 Brussels. Special grand- daughter of Lois Boyd and Robert Mueller of Monkton, and great- granddaughter of Nancy Boyd of Stratford. Also remembered by her special uncle, Barney Boyd of Monkton and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Dear step-sister of Kyle McTavish of New Hamburg, Jacqueline Good of Guelph, Rodney Knott of Hamilton and step-granddaughter of Marlene McTavish of Stratford. Predeceased by her grandfather Jack Boyd. Nealie s family will receive friends and relatives at the Peebles Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood, on Monday, July 28, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Brussels on Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at 11 a.m. with Father Peter Keller officiating. Reta Densmore
Mrs. Reta Densmore, 85, a resident of Hillside Manor, RR 5 Stratford and formerly of Mitchell passed away at her residence on Saturday, December 6, 2003. Beloved wife of the late Albert Densmore (1966). Dear cousin of Elva Loker (Dave deceased) of Brantford, Cliff Pickard (Helen) of London and Edith Duncan (Kenneth) of Bracebridge and their families. Predeceased by her parents Llewellyn and Mabel (Pickard) Lashbrook. Reta was a member of Main St. United Church, Mitchell where she served as treasurer for many years. She was a member of the U.C.W. of the church, had taught Sunday School and was a former member of the church choir. She was a life member of Gould s Womens Institute. Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal Street, Mitchell on Monday 2-5 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Camillia LaRouche officiating. Spring interment in Woodland cemetery , Mitchell. Memorial donations to Main St. United Church or the charity of one s choice would be appreciated.

Nancy W. Leis
passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Friday, February 13, 2004 at the age of 89 years. She was born in Mornington Township, Perth County on January 24, 1915, daughter of the late Joseph R. and Catherine (Wagler) Lichty. She was a member of Milverton Conservative Mennonite Church. Beloved wife of the late Daniel S. Leis whom she married October 19, 1938 and who predeceased her September 24, 2001. Mother s prayers will be missed by children Ruth and John McMaster of Palmerston, Mary Ann and David Fisher of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Ellen and Lloyd Cober of Waterloo, Loreen and Ken Horst of Kenabeek, Joe and Dorothy Ann Leis of Neepawa, Manitoba, Paul and Marjorie Leis of Calgary, Alberta, Rose and Lorne Gregory of Manitoulin Island, Mark and Joyce Leis of Brunner, Glen and Grace Leis of Clear Spring, Maryland, Donald and Sally Leis of Lions Head. Much loved by her 30 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Samuel W. and Mary Lichty of Brunner and sister-in-law of Dorothy Lichty of Sebringville. Nancy was predeceased by an infant son John Melvin Leis, a dear son and daughter-in- law Christian and his wife Shirley Leis, brother David W. Lichty and sister Emma and her husband Aaron Jantzi. Clara E. Faulhafer
Clara Elizabeth Faulhafer, a resident of the Maples Nursing Home in Tavistock and formerly of RR 1 Stratford passed away at her residence on Saturday, April 14, 2001 in her 93rd year. Born in North Easthope Township she was a daughter of the late George Faulhafer and Elizabeth (Cook) Faulhafer. She was a life member of St. Peter s Lutheran Church, Gadshill and a member of the church ELW, a former member of the Stratford Agricultural Society, Easthope Historical Society, Avon Women s Institute, Stratford Horticultural Society and a former 4H Club Leader. Dear sister of Alvin Faulhafer of RR 1 Stratford and Anne Thompson of Cedarcroft Place, Stratford. Also survived by nieces and nephews, Bob Faulhafer and wife Dorothea, of Gadshill, Marjorie Stix and husband Edward of Waterloo, Ernie Faulhafer and wife Jean of Burnside, Pat Eidt and husband Ken of Amulree, Wayne Faulhafer and wife Linda of RR 1 Stratford, Fred Thompson of Singhampton and Rheo Thompson and wife Sally of Stratford and several grand nieces and grand nephews. Predeceased by a nephew Harold Thompson and a sister-in-law Oleva Faulhafer. Mrs. Evelyn Slater, age 76, of 47 Briarhill Drive, Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on Sunday, June 24th, 2001. Evelyn was born in Hearst, Ontario, daughter of the late James and Mildred Robinson. She is the beloved wife of the late Charles William Slater who predeceased her December 3, 2000. Loving mother of Barbara and husband Wayne Sangster, Stratford, Garry Slater and wife Jane, Mitchell and Joseph Slater and wife Elaine, Owen Sound. Cherished grandmother of Keely Sangster, Kara and husband James Osborne, Lindsay and Greg Slater. Greatgrandmother of Bria Rose Osborne. Dear sister of Dr. James I. Robinson and wife Mary, Victoria, B.C. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by a sister Kathleen MacArthur. Evelyn had been employed for many years at Walkers here in Stratford. She was member of St. James Anglican Church, Stratford, the Omar Temple #111, Daughters of the Nile and was a volunteer with the Stratford General Hospital Auxiliary. Cremation. Peacefully at Memorial Hospital, St. Marys surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 21, 2002, Marion Irene (Mary) Stephens (nee Eckert) of RR 1 Kirkton in her 70th year. Beloved wife of Joseph G. (Joe) Stephens. Loving mother of Neil Stephens and his wife Linda of Kirkton and Joseph Stephens and his wife Dinette of Hensall. Dearly loved grandmother of Kelly and Amanda Stephens of Kirkton, Jake, Jeffrey, Grace and Hannah Stephens of Hensall. Also survived by brother Edward Eckert and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Arthur Eckert and the former Minerva Thomas and infant son Larry. Relatives and friends were received by the family at the Robert G. Sass Funeral Home, 47 Wellington Street, South, St. Marys on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the complete funeral service was held on Monday, December 23, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Shannon Tennant officiating. Interment Kirkton Union cemetery at a later date.
