Procter, Derek (retired upholsterer, H.R.C., Orillia; associate member of R.C.L. Branch 34, Orillia; avid golfer and long-time member of Couchiching Golf Club) - suddenly at his home in Orillia on Friday, August 15, 2003. Derek Procter, aged 66 years, beloved husband of Jean. Dearly loved father of Stephen and wife Debbie of Orillia and Martin predeceased. Proud and devoted grandfather of Matthew, Alyshia, and Nathan. Step-brother of Jean Judge and husband Mark of England. Uncle to Holly. Cremation will be followed by a celebration of Derek's life which will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34, Orillia, on Thursday, August 21st from 2 to 4 PM. If desired, memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated and may be made at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 WestSt. N., Orillia (325-2231).

Prass, Marina Rose

PRAASS, Marina Rose - Port Dover, formerly of Hamilton, suddenly at her residence on Friday, August 22, 2003, in her 44th year. Marina (nee Buchner), beloved wife of Werner Praass. Loving mother of Joshua and Kerri Lynn Postma and stepmother to Tina and Tammy Praass. She will be fondly remembered by her parents Leendert and Martha Buchner, four brothers, Bert, John, Ron and Clarence and a sister, Leona, as well as serveral nieces and nephews. Marina will be remembered by all for her love of the lake, fishing and gardening. Friends are invited to share their memories of Marina, with the family, at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, 102 First Ave., Port Dover, ON (519) 583-1530 on Sunday 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service for Mrs. Praass will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, August 25, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. The family would appreciate memorial donations to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Myers, Brenda, 59 years, passed away peacefully on Sunday September 7, 2003 at the London Health Sciences Centre. Loving wife of Don for 40 years. Beloved mother of Debra Taylor and husband David, Oldcastle; Terry and wife Lori, Cottam; and Shari Freeman and husband Darren, Gesto. Proud grandmother of Brandon, Steven, and Courtney Taylor, Kyle, and Jessica Myers, Cole, and Kierra Freeman. Sadly missed by brothers and sisters Pat Meloche and her late husband Garnet, Bob Cote and wife Pat, Roger Cote and wife Arlene, Doug Cote and wife Janet, Michelle Cote and Eddie Gagnon, and Rochelle Cote. Cherished daughter-in-law of Grace Miller and sister-in-law of Bob Myers and wife Fille, and Larry Myers and wife Sandy. Predeceased by mother and father Lorraine and Junior Cote. Visiting at the Reid Funeral Home 87 Maidstone Avenue East, Essex (776-4233) on Wednesday 1-5 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Brenda's life will be held from St. Clements Church, McGregor on Thursday September 11, 2003 at 10 a.m. Fr. He will be fondly remembered by his many friends, neighbours and loving family. Beloved husband of Sybil (nee Gill). Loving father of Kathleen Brennan (Bill McIntosh), Kimberly Myers-Schuh (Jurgen), Kerri Miller (Craig), Kevin ( Petra ), Debbie Beal (Mark). Loving Poppa to Shawna, Nicole, Kelly, Cory, Lindsay, Daniel, Stephanie, Amanda and Austin. Brother of Ralph, John, Pauline, Mary, Ethel, Gloria, pre-deceased by Patrick, Catherine and Gertrude. Friends my call on STECKLEY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME, Clapperton and Worsley Streets, Barrie on Sunday from 7-9 PM and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at St Mary’s Church 65 Amelia Street, Barrie at 10 AM. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Terry Fox Foundation.

Loving father of Tara and her husband Rob, and Sean. Proud grandfather of Alexander. Amir will be sadly missed by his family and many friends and colleagues. Dear father-in-law of the late Cindy Neels (1992). Proud grandfather to Rob & Kim Brown, John Brown, Bree Scratch, Jeremy and Shawn Garrod, James, Jason & Robbie Neels, Kristy-Lee, Jesse & Matthew Fram, Amy & Nicholas Neels, Hailey & Sydney Neels. Great-grandfather to Colin, Brittany, Dustin and Brandon Brown.Dear brother to Luci and John Parker of Grosse Pointe Michigan. Dear brother-in-law to Doreen Neels. Predeceased by his brother Eli (1995). Frank will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Norman, James Edward Peter “Jim” Suddenly at his home on Thursday, September 18, 2003. Jim Norman of Owen Sound in his 49th year. Beloved son of Joan and her husband Frank Jessup of Kincardine. Dear brother of Ron Norman and his wife Nancy of Cheltenham, Ontario, Peggy Norman of Owen Sound, Michael Norman and his wife Michelle of Mission, British Columbia and Leanne Wardell of Wasaga Beach. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Also survived by two uncles Doug and his wife Lauraine Bock and Vern Norman and his wife Helen all of Kincardine. Predeceased by his father John Norman. Friends are invited to the Tannahill Funeral Home, 376-3710 for visiting on Sunday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Monday, September 22nd at 11:00 a.m. with Doctor Brad Clark officiating. Pearce, Margaret Dorothy Peacefully at Summit Place Nursing Home on Saturday, August 23, 2003. Margaret Pearce (nee Scott) of Owen Sound in her 89th year. Wife of the late Charles Sherwood Pearce. Father of Gwen and her husband William Stewart of Oliphant, Evonne and her husband John Macpherson of Vancouver, Charles and his wife Judy of Michigan, and Lilajean and her husband William Hemstock of Edmonton. Sadly missed by 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Survived by four sisters and one brother and predeceased by three sisters and six brothers. Friends are invited to the Tannahill Funeral Home for visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Friday afternoon at 1 o’clock with Rev. David Shearman officiating. Interment , Sanctuary Park cemetery , Port Elgin. Memorial donations to the G.B.R.H.C. Foundation would be appreciated.

Cherished grandmother of 37 and proud great grandmother of 27. Survived by sisters Esther Getty, Loys Knight, Roberta Metz, and predeceased by 2 grandchildren and sister Irene Begley. Visiting at the Reid Funeral Home 14 Russell Street, Leamington (326-2631) on Tuesday 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service to celebrate June’s life will be held from the Funeral Home on Wednesday October 1, 2003 at 1 p.m. Interment Bayview cemetery. Dear mother of Bill & his wife Kathy, London and Bonnie Mott, Sarnia. Predeceased by son-in-law Terry Mott. Donna was involved in many community and church activities throughout her years in Sarnia. PORTER, Ann, suddenly at her home in Port Dover on Sunday, August 17, 2003. Ann, in her 41st year was the loving wife and best friend of Delos Porter. Daughter of Rodney and Frances Richardson of Simcoe and daughter-in-law of Doug and Marjorie Porter of Port Dover. Proud, devoted, and much loved mother of Natasha of Toronto, Nick, Stacey and Stephanie all of Port Dover. Survived by sisters Debbie Mercier and Eunice Mayo and brothers Rick and Chuck Richardson. Dear sister-in-law of Carol Porter, Cathy and Don Maxwell, Diane Porter and Rick Porter. Ann will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews sadly missed by her best friend Vicki and her sons Kody and Kyle Underhill. Ann was an avid walker and her children's best sports fan, seldom missing a game. She will also be missed by her cats that she cared for greatly. Visitation for Ann will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2003, 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, 102 First Ave., Port Dover (583-1530). Funeral Service will be Thursday, August 21, 2003 at 2 pm in the Chapel at the funeral home. Rev. Bruce Coombs officiating. Cremation to follow.
