PLEBON, Stella C.

In Pembroke General Hospital on Monday, July 26, 2004 at age 77 years. Stella Plebon (nee Recoskie), formerly of Chalk River, wife of the late Thomas Plebon. Dear mother of Michael Plebon (Sheila), Petawawa; Darlene Stewart (Gary), Kanata and Donald Plebon (Rebecca), Brampton. Cherished grandmother of Sean, Danielle and Scott Stewart and Matthew, Alexander and Olivia Plebon. A Funeral service was held at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Barry's Bay, ON on Thursday, July 29, 2004.

BALDWIN, Dr. William Frederick

Peacefully, on July 26, 2004 at the Perley Veterans' Health Centre, Ottawa, in his 91st year. Loving husband of the late Joyce Baldwin (nee Porritt). Cherished father of Wendy (Ian Parker), Patricia (Andrew Padmos), Judith (Chris Christensen) and Bill (Natasha Whiteside). Very dear grandfather of Nicholas, Jeremy (Molly) Alastair and Daniel, Shawn, Jillian, and great-grandfather of Kathleen. Bill was a scholarship student at the Ontario Agricultural College, where he obtained his undergraduate degree, and at the University of Western Ontario, where he completed his Masters. During World War II, he served as an officer in the Canadian Army. After the war, he was employed as a research scientist at the Entomological Laboratory in Belleville. Upon receiving his doctorate from the University of Toronto in 1954, he joined Atomic Energy of Canada in Chalk River, Ontario. From 1955 to 1975, he studied the effects of radiation on cell division in insects, publishing his findings in scientific journals and lecturing. During that time, he was also seconded to various United Nations agencies to work on insect population control projects in Athens, Greece, and throughout South America. He was elected President of the Canadian Entomological Society 1970-1971. W.F.B. was an avid musician and sportsman all his life. He started his own dance band in high school and later played the piano in the university orchestras at OAC and Western. He was on the varsity boxing team at OAC and the football team at Western. Until just a few years ago, he was an enthusiastic golfer and sailor. He never stopped playing the piano. Bill was on the Belleville Board of Education for many yeas and was a parishioner and choir member at St. Thomas' Anglican Church in Belleville and at St. Barnabas in Deep River. A private family Service was held at St. Thomas' Anglican Church in Belleville on Wednesday, July 28, 2004. Arrangements entrusted to the Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel (Toll free 1-877-256-3688). If desired, Memorial Donations to the Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre or the Red Cross would be appreciated by the family.

STEWART, Edwin Roy

At Ottawa Hospital, Civic Site on Thursday, November 25, 2004. Edwin Stewart age 74 years. Beloved husband of Muriel Stewart of R R # 1, Deep River. Loving father of Garry Stewart and his wife Judy of Sault Ste. Marie and Kevin Stewart and his wife Susan of Deep River. Cherished grandfather of Kristin and Lucinda Stewart. Dear brother of Earl Stewart and his wife Theresa of Pembroke, Jimmy Stewart and his wife Avangeline of Rapides des Joachims, Quebec, Albert Stewart and his wife Winnie of Stonecliffe, Richard Stewart and his wife Theresa of Espanola and Cora Logan (the late James Logan) of Chatham. Predeceased by a brother Robert Stewart. By request there will be no visitation. Cremation. A Graveside Service will be conducted at a later date. MCAULEY, Elizabeth Doreen

At Deep River and District Hospital on Tuesday, November 23, 2004. Doreen Remus age 65 years. Beloved wife of Ronald McAuley of Rapides des Joachims, Quebec. Loving mother of Cheryl Raymond of North Bay, Annie McAuley of Renfrew, Cindy McAuley and Shawn McAuley (Lauralee Daigle) all of Rapides des Joachims, Quebec, and Paul McAuley and his wife Lisa of Sudbury. Dear sister of Cecil Remus of Rapides des Joachims, Quebec. Cherished grandmother of 11 grandchildren. By request there was no visitation. Cremation. MCCARTHY, Fay

In Deep River and District Hospital on Thursday, November 25th, 2004 in her 71st year. Fay McCarthy (nee Morin) of Chalk River, beloved wife of Wilton McCarthy. Loving mother of Danny (Brenda) of Petawawa, Tommy of Chalk River, Michael (Debbie) of Deep River, Howard (Beth) of Newmarket, Karen (Jamie) of Ajax and Pat (Karen) of Courtice. Dear sister of Jean Gaylor of Barrie, Noreen Lang of Thunder Bay, and Ralph (Rose Mary) Morin of Stittsville. Also survived by nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitation was at the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Anthony's Church, Chalk River on Saturday, November 27, 2004 at 11 a.m. followed by cremation. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements by the Neville Funeral Home, Pembroke.

HOLT, Bonnie

It is with great sadness that her family announces the passing of Bonnie Holt, at the Deep River Hospital, on Sunday, November 7, 2004.
Loving mother of Karen and John. Remembered lovingly by husband Rick. Beloved and devoted daughter of Fred and Edith Willison, and dear sister of Fred. Bonnie will also be greatly missed by Jeff Colton (husband of Karen), Jennifer Davis (fiancee of John), and her grandsons Ben and Jack. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bonnie may be made to the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA). STEELE, Kathleen

At Miramichi Lodge, Pembroke on Monday, November 1, 2004 at the age of 98, Kathleen Steele, mother of Kathleen Thefler (James Harrington) passed away peacefully. A private funeral was held in Toronto at Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglington Ave. W., Toronto. The family wishes to thank the staff and residents at St. Mary's Home and the staff at Miramichi Lodge for the exceptional love and care given to Kathleen (Kay). Memorial contributions to the Ontario Humane Society, Petawawa Branch would be appreciated.

HART, Lena Adele "Della"

Went home to be with the Lord, on Friday, January 14th, 2005, on her 80th birthday surrounded by her family. Della Wegner beloved wife of the late Raymond Hart. Dear mother of Eleanor Gunter (Kim) and Ed Hart (Bev) of Port Hope and the late Don Hart (Darlene) of Chalk River. Della will be missed by her 8 grandchildren and her many great grandchildren. Sister of Helen Daniluk of Toronto, Elma Wheeler and Irene Waito and sister-in-law of Fern Payer of Deep River and predeceased by 8 siblings. Service was held at the Ross Funeral Chapel, 135 Walton St., Port Hope, Monday, January 17th, 2005 at 12 noon with visiting from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Reception followed at the Ganaraska Rainbow Café, Port Hope. Spring interment Trinity (Chalk River) Lutheran cemetery. Memorial donations to Faith Lutheran Church, Deep River would be appreciated.

In hospital, Deep River on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at the age of 86 years. Clayton Kennedy, resident of The Four Season's Lodge, Deep River, husband of the late Gladys Kennedy (nee Newton). At North Renfrew Long-Term Care Centre, Deep River on Tuesday, January 11, 2005. Ann Keenan wife of the late James Keenan, and daughter of the late Wilmot and Elsie Cowan. Dear sister of Lois (Mrs. Fred Anderson) of Morrison Island, Quebec. By request there will be no visitation. Cremation. KRENZ, Kathleen DeWitt (nee Coleman)

Daughter of A. B. Coleman and Samena DeWitt Coleman of Burlington, Ontario, life partner for 64 years to F. H. Kim Krenz of Lakefield, Ontario; Aunt Kate, Great Aunt Kate, and Great, Great Aunt Kate to the Baines's, the Coburns, the Harts, the Sissons', the Jefferys, the Fullertons, the Sturgesses, the McCauleys and their offspring of the extended Coleman family in Canada. Kate was predeceased by an earlier husband, Frederick G. C. Phillips, in 1937. Kate left this earth on January 15, 2005, four days after her 92nd birthday, with her beloved Kim at her bedside, at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre. She is sorely missed by her sister Elizabeth McCauley of Owen Sound, her sister-in-law Margaret Krenz St. Clair of Ashland, Oregon, brother-in-law George Schotch of Vancouver, and by the Schotches of Halifax, by "adopted daughter" Caroline Pearson and family of Canton, New York, by Felecia Stitcher of Surprise, Arizona, and by all whose lives she touched during a lifetime spent in Canada, Scotland, and Italy. Her two years with Kim in Italy are recorded in her charming book "Our Love Affair With Italy." Her Italian friends have remained friends throughout her life. Kate was a beautiful woman, vivacious and full of fun, and was a pillar of goodness, with consideration and concern for everyone she met. With no children of her own, she enriched the lives of many children, and the lives of their parents. Cremation is to be managed by the Hendren Funeral Home of Lakefield. A service of remembrance will be held in St. John's Anglican Church, Lakefield on Wednesday 19 January at 11:00 a.m. The interment of her ashes and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held at St. John's this coming spring at a date to be announced.
