Hone, Janet,
Published: 08/10/2004
JANET HONE October 11, 1948 August 5, 2004 - Jan died peacefully at home in Regina on Thursday, August 5, 2004 at the age of 55. She died as she wished, pain free and at home with her family around her. In her last months she shared her insights into life and relationships with all those who helped care for her. We have all been blessed by her friendship, honesty, courage, intelligence and quirky sense of humour. Jan was an active and passionate devotee of living life in the first person. If she believed in a cause, she put her heart, hands and voice to work for it, and inspired others to do the same. She sat on committees, organized demonstrations and phoned city councillors: she took responsibility and she got things done. Her long and joyful career at Regina Public Library saw her share of talents with almost every unit in the library at one time or another, including Central Children's and the Central Reference Desk, but she always seemed to be drawn back to the cheerful pandemonium and strong community roots of the branch libraries. A deep love and respect for the creative process ran strong in Jan's blood. She painted, drew, made pottery and puppets, created paper mache
