He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his mother Brenda, father George; sister Sharon (Blais); brothers, Winston (Carol) and Bradley; nieces, Sandra and Andrea Blais; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A Service of celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 1998 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Thomas Anglican Church, 4A Raven Drive, Sherwood Park, Alberta, Rev. Bob Peel officiating. WHITNACK - Mrs. Rayma Katherine Whitnack, beloved wife of Mr. Frank Whitnack, passed away peacefully at her home on September 7, 1997 at the age of 71 years. Rayma was born in East Florenceville, New Brunswick, August 6, 1926. She served in the W.A.C. of the R.C.A.F from 1943 to 1945. During this period she met Frank and at the end of the war they married in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, August 8, 1945, coming to Calgary shortly thereafter, where she resided for the remainder of her life. Her final day was spent with all three of her precious children, which made her very happy, and for which we will be eternally grateful. Her many loves included her family and friends, curling (she and Frank were Charter members of the Calgary Winter Club), bridge and driving her van. She will be forever remembered by daughter Betty Boon, son-in-law Gary and their children, Michael and David; son Richard Whitnack, daughter-in-law Cheryl and their children, Daun and John; and son Alan Whitnack, daughter-in-law Joyce and their children, Staci and Eric. Rayma also leaves behind sisters, Marian Noble (Kingston, ON) and Bette Martin (Moncton, NB); brothers, Norman Smith (Olds, AB), Wendell Smith (Manotick, ON), and Bob Smith (Calgary); brothers-in-law, Ron Noble and Mervyn Martin; and sisters-in-law, Carolle Smith, Eva Smith, Linda Smith and Ruth Devonshire (Kingston, ON). She also leaves behind Frank's family who became her family when they arrived in Alberta, especially Dorothy (Dot) Whitnack who was one of her best friends. She also leaves many nieces and nephews too numerous to list. Rayma was predeceased by her brother Richard Smith in 1986. WHITNEY - Barry Delano, beloved husband of Shirley of Calgary, passed away at Peter Lougheed Hospital on Tuesday, July 8, 1997 at the age of 48 years. Besides his loving wife, he leaves to mourn his aunts, Elsie Pekse, Ida Yandt, Annie Neumiller; uncle Angus McKinnon; aunt and uncle, Geraldine and Fred Keim; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill and Donna, Marshall and Dianne Wynnychuk; and numerous nieces and nephews. Barry was predeceased by his parents, Marcus and Bertha Whitney. WHITTINGTON - Carmen Margaret (MacLean) passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter on June 6, 1997. Carmen was predeceased by her husband Dick of fifty years, sisters, Florence and Edie, brothers, Walter, John and Kenneth, and by her parents, William and Edith McLean. Carmen is survived by her twin daughters, Sharon (Ross) Harvey, Karen (Jack) Grant; and her son Ian (Christine) Whittington; grandchildren, Lori and Craig Grant, Sian and Erin Harvey, Brea Anne Whittington; sister Ruth DeWare; sisters-in-law, Hazel McLean and Margaret (Odie) Gust; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Carmen will be lovingly remembered for her love of family, respect of others and her joy of cooking. Carmen graduated in Nursing from James Dunn Hospital, Bathhurst, N.B. in 1934. She worked at the T.B. San in N.B. home care, then during World War II for the South African Government for one year. Following her experiences in South Africa, she returned to Canada to become a Nursing Sister with No. 22, Canadian General Medical Corp. Hospital. When stationed in Bramshot, England she met and married Captain L.A. "Dick" Whittington. Carmen has been active with Nursing Sister Association Calgary Branch, Inglewood Community Association in recent years; as well she was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion (Chapelhow Branch No. 284). Funeral Services will be held at St. George's P. Chapel, 23 Cambrai Avenue S.W. (Currie P.M.Q.), on Thursday, June 12, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. with Interment to follow in the Field of Honor of Eden Brook Memorial Gardens (17 Avenue at lower Springbank Road S.W.). WHITTON - Mrs. Ann Whitton, age 86 years old, of Edmonton, passed away on October 26, 1997. Always a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who had a wonderful zest for life, gardening, cooking, playing cards, board games and crossword puzzles and was game for anything life had to offer. She always welcomed everyone into her home, loved to laugh, smile and tell stories. She is survived by five children, Betty Walsh, Edmonton, Glen Whitton, Victoria, B.C., Rev. Ray Whitton, U.S.A., Norma Miles, U.S.A., and Pat Santa, Edmonton; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service was held at Park Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, October 29 officiated by Rev. Ray Whitton. "I love you and I'll miss you. WHITWORTH - Mrs. Steffany Whitworth, beloved wife of Mr. Hale Whitworth of Calgary, passed away peacefully at her residence on June 15, 1997 at the age of 89 years. Steffany was born in London, England on October 15, 1907. She immigrated to Canada in June of 1952, and on August 6, 1975 she married Hale, her husband of twenty-two years. The "I AM" Temple, the church to which Steffany belonged, was the center of her life. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Rosemary and Eric Watkins of Vernon, B.C. and Madeleine Osborne of Montreal, Quebec. She is also survived by a brother William Davis in Windermere, B.C. She was predeceased by two brothers, Arthur Davis and Sidney Davis. CAMERON - Marion Ruth went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 16, 1997 at the age of 64 years. Marion will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Rose (Stephen) Reay, and grandchildren, Kevin and Rachel of High River; and her son Brad (Roxanne) Shandera, and grandchildren, Tizjana, Britian and Dayn of Caron, Sask. CAMPBELL - Mr. Alexander (Alex) Campbell of Calgary, passed away after a short illness on December 24, 1997, at the Peter Lougheed Hospital, at the age of 81 years. Alexander is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Darlene Campbell of Calgary; and a daughter and son-in-law, Mabel and Ted Takacs of Osoyoos, B.C.; as well as six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother-in-law Bert and wife Madie of Victoria, B.C.; and a sister-in-law, Ev Pocock. Alexander was predeceased by his loving wife Lillian Agnes in July of 1997.
