HAMPTON - Mr. Stuart Russell. At Peterborough Civic Hospital on Friday, July 18, 1997. Russ Hampton of Peterborough, Ontario in his 74th year. Beloved husband of Jeanne Peat; dear step-son of Selma Hampton of Rossland, B.C.; loving father of Jack Hampton and his wife Jocelyne of Calgary, Bob Hampton and his wife Maureen of Boulder, Co., Marguerite Hampton of Edmonton, Bill Hampton of Peterborough, and Maureen Richards and her husband Peter of Carleton Place; dear grandfather of Geoff Hampton, Michael Hampton, Philip Hampton, Stephen Russell Richards, and Michael Richards; brother of Les Hampton and his wife Elsie of Winnipeg. A Private Service was held in the Chapel of the COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough, Ontario on Sunday, July 20, 1997. In memory of Mr. Hampton donations to the Kawartha Pine Ridge Lung Association would be appreciated by the family (7/22/1997).

HANCOCK - Erica Louise Hancock passed away suddenly on Monday, December 1, 1997 at the age of 71. She is survived by her loving husband of thirty-six years, Bernie; stepsons, John and Dave Taylor and their families; nieces, Christine and Leanne and their husbands; as well as numerous cousins. Erica was predeceased by her parents and two brothers. A Memorial Service will be held at the CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 - 4 Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen's Park Cemetery), on Thursday, December 4, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. Funeral and Cremation arrangements in care of HERITAGE FAMILY FUNERAL SERVICES, "Calgary Crematorium Chapel". (12/4/1997).

HANKEL - Mr. Ronald David (Ron) Hankel, beloved husband of Mrs. Joan Hankel of Calgary, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on October 26, 1997 at the age of 59 years. Ron was born in Viking, Alberta in 1938, moved to Blackfalds, Alberta in 1945, and then to Calgary in 1953. Ron married Joan in 1962; and he worked for Gulf Oil for thirty-one years as a draftsman, until his retirement in 1991. Besides his loving wife Joan, Ron is survived by his two sons, Harold Hankel of Vancouver, BC and Rodney Hankel of Calgary. He is also survived by three brothers, one sister and many other relatives. Ron was predeceased by his parents, Victor and Edith Hankel. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Chapel of the Bells", (2720 Centre Street North), today, October 29, 1997 at 3:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, c/o Alberta Cancer Foundation, 1331 - 29 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta T2N 4N2. In living memory of Ronald, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES "Park Memorial Chapel", 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W., CALGARY. (10/29/1997).

HANOU - Maurice (Maury) Hanou passed away at the Foothills Hospital on Friday, June 20, 1997 at the age of 71 years. He is survived by his son Peter (Minnie); and his two grandchildren, Dane and Melissa. At his request no Service will be held. Arrangements and Cremation in care of HERITAGE FAMILY FUNERAL SERVICES "Calgary Crematorium Chapel". (6/25/1997).

HANSON - God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be; So He put His arms around you, And whispered, "Come to Me". Linda Arlene Hanson (nee Hauser), passed away in the Care West Hospital on November 13, 1997 at a young age after a long courageous battle with cancer. She is survived and ever remembered by her two loving children, Caprice and Dylan; her mother Vi Hauser; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She will always be remembered for her well known enthusiasm and love of life. Her personality was unforgettable and always made a person feel good with laughter. Linda was born in Carmangay, Alberta having most of her schooling in Lethbridge and lived there until her marriage in 1975 then moved to Calgary. Funeral Services will be held at Centre Street Evangelical Church, 4120 Centre Street North on Wednesday, November 19, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor John Fehr officiating. Interment to follow in Queen's Park Cemetery. FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, Directors. (11/17/1997).

SUITOR - Edith Allison passed away on October 16, 1997 in her 94th year at Bethany Care Centre, Calgary. She was predeceased by her husband Andrew, and two sons, Roy and Merlyn (Shorty). She is survived by her son Allan and his spouse Delorace of Calgary, Ken and his spouse Margaret of Athabasca, Lloyd and his spouse Joyce of Toronto; and two daughters-in-law, Doris of Devon and Pat of Duchess. She is also survived by one brother Maurice Edwards of Turner Valley; as well as fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Edith arrived in Alberta with her parents from Iowa in 1905, the year Alberta became a province. She married Andrew Suitor after his return from World War I and together they raised a family of five boys. Edith and Andrew homesteaded in the Queenstown District until moving to the ranch at Hutton in 1944. In addition to running a very busy household, Edith also operated a store and post office for many years at the ranch. The Suitor home was always open to all, and a favourite place for friends and relatives to visit. Edith retired to Calgary in 1963 and continued her interest in children by acting as their companion while parents were either working or away on holiday. Edith moved to the Bethany Care Centre in 1991, and the family wishes to thank all of the staff at Bethany for their very kind and attentive care. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Pam Bohning who was her caring companion in the last several years. Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Monday, October 20, 1997 at 3:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bethany Care Society, 916 - 18A Street N.W., Calgary, T2N 1C6. Arrangements entrusted to MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME, 17 Avenue S.E. at Garden Road (3 km East of 68 Street S.E.). (10/18/1997).

SUNDERLAND - Thomas Irwin Sunderland passed away suddenly, in Arrowwood, Alberta on Sunday, November 9, 1997, at the age of 64 years. Thomas is survived by his brother C. James Sunderland and family; his children, Lorie MacDonald, Randy Sunderland, Gail Fiddes, Rita Pittman, Jody Sunderland, their spouses and eight grandchildren. "Our Hearts Reach out to where you are". Family and friends are invited to Prayer Services Thursday, November 13 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, 321 - 90 Avenue. S.E., Calgary, Alberta. Funeral Mass and Service will be held the following day at 10:30 a.m. at the same location, followed by Interment at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. A small reception will be held after services at St. Cecilia's parish hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 1825 Park Road S.E., Calgary. MCINNES - Leonard Douglas McInnes of Calgary, passed away at the Forest Grove Nursing Home on September 12, 1997 at the age of 71 years. Leonard was born in Bredenbury, Saskatchewan where he attended school. He came to Calgary in 1945 and was employed with White Rose Gas Company as a truck driver. In 1956, he moved to Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan to go farming. In 1987, Leonard returned to Calgary where he has since resided. He served with the P.P.C.L.I. at Currie Barracks. Leonard is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Marno and Margaret of Vancouver, B.C., Howie and Cheryl of Calgary; and a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Bruce Inverarity of Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan; six grandchildren, Regan, Lance, Pauline, Chantra, Shelby and Allan. He is also survived by three sisters, Betty Laxdal of Calgary, Bernice and her husband Fred Berard of Sylvan Lake, Maria Newton and Allan Posti of Eckville; and his sister-in-law Anne Grassick of Calgary. Leonard was predeceased by his parents, Pat McInnes in 1939, Edna McInnes Peter in 1995, brothers, Jerry McInnes in 1955, Clifford McInnes in 1987, sister Olive Paulson in 1990, nephew John Laxdal in 1981 and brother-in-law Bruce Laxdal in 1982. Funeral Services will be held at McINNES & HOLLOWAY'S "Chapel of the Bells", (2720 Centre Street North), on Tuesday, September 16, 1997 at 3:00 p.m. In living memory of Leonard McInnes, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, "Chapel of the Bells", 2720 CENTRE STREET NORTH.
