OTTO - Gerhard Karl passed away at the Rockview Hospital on September 13, 1997 at the age of 66 years. Gerhard is survived by his family in Canada and his four sisters in Germany and one brother in El Salvador. He was predeceased by his mother and father in Germany. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayer Services at St. Boniface Catholic Church 1923 Broadview Road N.W. on Wednesday, September 17, 1997 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Boniface Catholic Church on Thursday, September 18, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Henry Rosenbaum SAC, Celebrant. Interment to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. FOSTER'S FUNERAL HOMES Garden Chapel, Directors. (9/16/1997).

OULTON - Mrs. Helen Mary Oulton passed away peacefully at the Bow View Manor in Calgary on November 27, 1 997 just days after her 89th birthday. Mary is survived by two sisters, Patricia Armstrong, lately of Calgary, formerly of Windermere, B.C., and Audrey Whetham of Victoria, B.C. Also left to mourn are numerous nephews and nieces and their families. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Les, her parents Florence and William Harris and her brother Bev Harris. Mary was born in Killarney, Manitoba on November 24, 1908 and moved to Calgary at a young age. She and Les spent many happy years in the Windermere Valley, at Columbia Lake, as well as at Nanoose Bay on Vancouver Island. A Memorial Service will be held at LEYDEN'S "Chapel of Remembrance" (17 Avenue and 2 Street S.W.) on Thursday, December 4, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Taylor officiating. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff on the Beaverbrook and Crowfoot Wings of the Bow View Manor. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alzheimer's Society of Calgary (1920 - 11 Street S.E., T2G 3G2). As a tribute to Mary, LEYDEN'S FUNERAL HOME will make a donation to the Alzheimer's Society of Calgary. Cremation and arrangements in care of LEYDEN'S FUNERAL HOMES LTD. (12/2/1997).

McFAUL - Arthur George McFaul passed away at home on Sunday, November 30, 1997 at the age of 77 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his close friend Jeanne Fredeen; his children, Jo Anne (Gordon) Atkins, Beth (Martin) Eva, and David; and his grandchildren, Doug, Kerry and Christy Atkins. He was predeceased by his father Harry, his mother Josephine (nee Henry), brothers, Jack and Bob and by his sister Muriel Broadfoot. Art was born in Red Deer on October 4, 1920. Following graduation from Crescent Heights High School in 1938, he served in World War II from 1939 to 1945. Upon his return, he earned his BSc, BEd and Med degrees. He was a dedicated High School Science Teacher for thirty years with the Calgary Board of Education and spent many additional hours tutoring students and coaching basketball, football and track and field. He also devoted many volunteer hours during his life to school, community, political and church organizations. A Memorial Service will be held at Parkdale United Church, 2919 - 8 Avenue N.W., on Friday, December 5, 1997 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Jen Craig officiating. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Art's memory may be made directly to the Calgary Senior High School Athletic Association, c/o Viscount Bennett Centre, 2519 Richmond Road S.W., Calgary, AB T3E 4M2, or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 1825 Park Road S.E., Calgary, AB T2G 3Y6. McHALE - Mrs. Joyce McHale (nee Epps), beloved wife for forty-seven years of Mr. Patrick McHale of Calgary, passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on Friday, September 12, 1997 at the age of 68 years. Joyce was born in Faversham, Kent, England on Saturday, February 16, 1929 and came to Canada with her family in May of the same year. She resided in the Montreal area of Quebec until 1984, then moving to Calgary to be with her grandchildren. Besides her loving husband, Joyce is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Clair Edwards, and Joanne and Ken Nuttall; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Elaine McHale; three grandson, Terry Carbonnell and Stacey Wright, Dale Carbonnell, and Alex McHale; her granddaughter Crystal McHale; and her great-granddaughter Erica Carbonnell. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald Epps, and Tom and Mary Epps, and Eileen Epps; two sisters and brother-in-law, Hilda and Don Grant, and Peggy Coyle; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce was predeceased by her parents, her brother Bob, her brother-in-law Tom Coyle, and her sister-in-law Betty Epps. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Park Memorial Chapel", (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.), on Monday, September 15, 1997 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In living memory of Joyce McHale, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, "Fish Creek Chapel", 14441 BANNISTER ROAD S.E., CALGARY. MCHUGH - Kevin S. passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital on November 12, 1997 at the age of 67 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Beverley; daughter Shannon and Lloyd Allen; son David and Carole; son Russell and Sherri; daughter Tara McHugh and Darrin Lee; grandchildren, Kevin, Gil, Geneisa, Brendan and Kiara; as well as family in Ireland. Kevin was well-known for his enthusiasm and love and life; he loved meeting people, working in his garden, talking with the neighbors or anyone who would stop by to chat. McINNIS - Mrs. Mary (Mae) Cairns McInnis, beloved wife of Mr. A.J. (Alf) McInnis of Calgary, passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on December 10, 1997, after a brief illness, at the age of 83 years. Born in Calgary in 1914, Mae attended Sunnyside School, graduating from Western Canada High School before attending Garbutts Business College. They were married on December 11, 1940, and would have celebrated their fifty-seventh anniversary. Mae was a former member of the Rotary Ann's where she took a very active interest. She was also a member of the Glencoe Club. Besides her loving husband, Mae is survived by her son Dr. John McInnis of Nashville, Tennessee; her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jane and Christoph Schroeder of Calgary; as well as three granddaughters, Mary Lee and Elizabeth of Nashville, and Katharine of Calgary. She was predeceased by her brother Robert Cameron in 1955. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Park Memorial Chapel", (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.), today, December 13, 1997 at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Donald C. MacMahon of the United Church of Canada officiating. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Calgary Inter-Faith Food Bank Society, 7475 Flint Road S.E., Calgary, Alberta T2H 1G3. McINTOSH - Dr. Homer E. McIntosh, beloved husband of Gloria of Calgary and formerly of Ottawa, Ontario, passed away at the Rockyview Hospital, Calgary on Wednesday, December 3, 1997, at the age of 82 years. HALL - Mr. Gordon Hall of Cochrane, Alberta, passed away in Calgary, Alberta on June 24, 1997 at the age of 84 years. Gordon was born in Calgary on October 21, 1913. Surviving are his loving wife of fifty-four years, Isabel; and sons, Ronald and Allan (Carole) Hall; twelve grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Gordon was predeceased by two sons, Kenneth in 1975, and Edward in 1979, also two grandsons, Trevor and Reg, and by his parents, Sydney and Mary Hall. Gordon was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department for over thirty-five years. He also was a life member of the Independent Order of Oddfellows. Gordon was postmaster in Cochrane, Alberta for eighteen years until his retirement and he also took great pride in being one of Cochrane's leading Historians and writers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gordon's memory to a charity of your choice. Funeral Services will be held at St. Andrew's United Church (128 - 1 Street East), Cochrane, Alberta on Monday, June 30, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Donald E. Koots officiating. Interment to follow at Cochrane Cemetery, Cochrane, Alberta. Arrangements in care of COCHRANE FUNERAL SERVICES, Cochrane, Alberta. (6/27/1997).
