- Shop now for incredible insights into your wellbeing -CLARK - Mr. Robert (Bob) Henry Clark, beloved husband of Mrs. Johanna (Joan) Clark of Calgary, passed away at the Bethany Care Centre on July 1, 1997 after a lengthy illness at the age of 84 years. Bob was born in Toronto on August 10, 1912. He came to Calgary in 1935 in the service of Adam's Bros. Harness of Toronto. Bob spent seventeen years with this company and became manager of their Saskatoon branch. He returned to Calgary in 1948 to join a geophysical company which was later taken over by Union Oil of California. He served twenty-seven years with this company as an accountant and personnel manager, retiring in 1977. During the war years he taught Naval Sea Cadets in Saskatoon. He was also a member of the 48th Highlanders in Toronto. Bob had a joyful spirit and was beloved by all his family and friends. Besides his loving wife, Bob is survived by three children, Janice Castle, Susan Clark and Robert Clark; six grandchildren, Joanne Hunter, Scott Castle, Brenda Therrien, Cheri Uhl, Leslie Uhl and Jocelyn Clark; five great-grandchildren, Steven, Michael and Amanda Marie Therrien, Jacob Hunter, and Richard Uhl. He is also survived by three sisters, Isabel Allen, Beatrice Henson and Jean Watling. Private Family Services will be held. CLARKE - On June 20, 1997, Mrs. Mae Katherine Clarke of Strathmore passed away, aged 89 years. She is survived by one son Gordon (Ruth) Ritchie of Kelowna; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother Jack (Kathleen) Kennaugh of Strathmore. She was predeceased by her husband Alex, and two sisters, Laura Groves and Helen Jones. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Clarke was employed at the Calgary Herald for forty-six years. Funeral Service Tuesday, June 24, 1997 at Wheatland Funeral Chapel, Strathmore at 2:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. CLEARY - Elizabeth Cleary of Calgary passed away on June 28, 1997 at the age of 91 years. She is predeceased by her husband James Cleary (1967), her father Conrad Kromm (1965), mother Anna Kromm (1958), all of Calgary, and a sister Pauline Orum (1976) of Millarville. She is survived by her sister Esther Hogan of Drayton Valley; her brother Fred Kromm and his wife Ann, formerly of Red Deer Lake, AB, and another brother Conrad Kromm, of Calgary; as well as several nieces and nephews from Alberta, BC, Sask, the USA; and many friends from her church. She lived most of her life in Calgary, working as a secretary and enjoyed travelling to the States, Hawaii and around the world. She loved playing her piano and going to church, and being with her family and friends. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at FOSTER'S FUNERAL HOMES (Jacques Chapel), 240 - 17 Avenue S.W., Calgary, on Tuesday, July 1, 1997 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Foster's Funeral Homes (Jacques Chapel) on Wednesday, July 2, 1997 at 1:00 p.m., with the Reverend Jake Kroeker of First Baptist Church officiating. BUCKINGHAM - Mr. Terrence Lloyd (Terry) Buckingham, beloved husband and best friend of Mrs. Shelley Buckingham of Calgary, passed away suddenly at the Foothills Hospital on October 26, 1997 at the young age of 52 years. Terry was born in High River, Alberta in 1945. He attended Queen Elizabeth School here in Calgary and completed his education at the University of Calgary. Terry was an outstanding teacher who touched many lives through his work with the Calgary Board of Education and the Alberta Vocational College. Terry will be lovingly remembered for his love of music and literature, his kindness, integrity, and his sense of humour. Besides his loving wife Shelley, Terry is survived by one daughter, Tracy Tidball (Doug); one son Brooker Buckingham (Tracy Grimmett), all of Calgary. He is also survived by his mother Marge Buckingham; and his sister Darlene Gouin (Phil), all of Ontario. Terry was predeceased by his father William in 1994. BUKAREWICZ - Ryszard (Dick) passed away September 9, 1997, beloved husband of Liane and dear father of Carmen and Richard (Patricia), all of Calgary. BULLIED - Russel Henry, 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 14, 1997 at the Beverly Centre while surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his loving wife Doris on October 27, 1995. Prior to his retirement in 1972, Russ had been active in the oil industry in Calgary as President of Cascade Drilling and is a past president of the C.A.O.D.C. Russ is remembered with great love and affection for his honor, integrity, quiet good humor, loyalty and total devotion to his family. His memory survives in his children, Wendy, Ron, Lindsay, and Jeff; daughter-in-law Helen; and his grandchildren, Todd, Traf, Andrew and Blair. Russ and Doris will be reunited at a Memorial Service to be held in Victoria. The family requests that conveyance of sympathy be expressed through contributions to the "Beverly Centre Garden Fund" that will be utilized to create an area of beauty for the enjoyment of residents (6/18/1997).
BULMER - Barbara Estelle Bulmer. Friday, November 28, 1997, the family of John Patrick Bulmer lost a very beautiful person. Barbara, a loving wife and devoted mother, finally ended her long struggle with emphysema. She was greatly loved and the happy memories of this sweet lady will remain in our hearts forever. CLAMENS - Mrs. Emily Audrey Clamens, of Calgary, passed away at the Dr. Vernon Fanning Extended Care Centre on Saturday, November 8, 1997, with her daughter Lou at her bedside, at the age of 85 years. She is the loving mother of three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Wayne Straub, Marlene and Fernando Pereira, Lou and Chris Storey; and two sons and daughters-in-law, Dick and Lee Clamens and Bill and Alba Clamens. She is also survived by many loving grandchildren, and great grandchildren; and one brother Vernon Montrichard. She will be greatly missed by her many friends at the Fanning Centre; and her companions, Kelly, Edie and Elaine. She was predeceased by her husband William in 1982.
