- Shop now for incredible insights into your wellbeing -GILL - Mr. Arthur Raymond (Ray) Gill, beloved husband of Mrs. Margaret Gill of Calgary, passed away at the Rockyview Hospital on Wednesday, June 4, 1997, after a short illness, at the age of 83 years. Ray was born in Dudley, United Kingdom in 1913. He immigrated to Canada in 1985. Besides his loving wife, Ray is survived by his children, Pamela St. John, and Dr. John Gill. FRASER - Lily Carmen Fraser (nee Pinkney) of Calgary, passed away peacefully at her home and went to be with our Lord on June 19, 1997 at the age of 84 years. Born in Montreal, Lily has been a resident of Calgary for twenty-one years. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Earl and Betty Ann Fraser of Ville La Salle, Quebec; and daughter Earlana Fraser of Calgary; as well as grandchildren, Laura and Mac Von of Calgary, Tammy and Robert Bordt of Aldergrove, B.C., Jason MacDonald of Calgary, Rona Fraser of Montreal, and Ronald and Christine Fraser of Montreal; and great-grandchildren, Samantha Fraser of Montreal, Bradley Macoy of Calgary, and Alexandria Bordt of Aldergrove, B.C. Lily was predeceased by her husband Earl R.J. Fraser. GIBSON - The family announces with sorrow the passing of Lillian Grace Gibson, of Calgary and formerly of Picton, Ontario, at the Rockyview General Hospital on June 23, 1997 at the age of 83 years. Lillian was born near Crofton, Ontario on April 27, 1915. She was raised on a farm near Picton, Ontario and later attended nursing school in Flint, Michigan. Lillian served with the American Armed Forces in England and France during the Second World War, obtaining the rank of lieutenant. After the War she moved to Russell, Kansas where she met and married Jim Gibson in 1949. Her two eldest sons, Gordon and Kevin were born in Russell. The family later moved to Tyler, Texas where her third son Stephen was born. They later moved to the family farm in Ontario in 1960, relocating to Calgary in 1965. Lillian served as head nurse at the Glenmore Park Auxiliary Hospital until her retirement in 1980. During her retirement years she enjoyed needlework and the company of her family and friends. Lillian is survived by her three sons and two daughters-in-law, Gordon of Calgary, Kevin and Ineke of Okotoks, and Stephen and Judy of Calgary; five grandchildren, Kristen, John, Jessica, Kerry and Stacey. She is also survived by her sister Lilah Caughey of Crofton, Ontario; her brother Earl and his wife Dorothy Caughey of Belleville, Ontario; and sister-in-law, Edith Caughey of Picton, Ontario. Lillian was predeceased by her older brother Gordon in 1996. GIESBRECHT - Mrs. Lillian Giesbrecht, beloved wife of Peter Giesbrecht of Calgary, went to be with her Lord on October 27, 1997, at the George Boyack Nursing Home, at the age of 80 years. She is survived by her twin daughters and sons-in-law, Beverley and Allan Brandsgard of Calgary, Alberta, and Shirley and Frank Pollock of Thorsby, Alberta; a son and daughter-in-law, Victor and Judy Giesbrecht of Ottawa, Ontario; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sally Henshen, Evelyn and Chet Doyle, Viola and Charlie Bergstrom; and three brothers and four sisters-in-law, Edward and Norma Cook, John and Helen Cook, Fred and Anne Cook, and Lil Cook. FRANSON - Florence Elizabeth Franson passed away at Agape Manor Hospice on November 12, 1997 at the age of 82 years. Predeceased by her husband Anton William Franson in 1980, she is survived by three sons, Gordon Franson of Calgary, Raymond Franson of Cranbrook, B.C., and Leonard Franson of Calgary; one daughter Rose-Helene Waugh of Williams Lake, B.C.; and five grandchildren, Heidi, Heather, Stephen, Michael and Karen; as well as three brothers, Harold Nicholson of Kelowna, Robert McCallum of Calgary and Thomas Nicholson of Australia. Born in Young, Saskatchewan in 1915 and raised in Saskatoon, Florence graduated as a Registered Nurse. After coming to Calgary, she worked at the Baker Sanatorium. Florence spent most of her life raising and caring for her family in the Capitol Hill area of Calgary. FRASER - Mr. Charles (Chuck) Fraser passed away suddenly at home on October 12, 1997 at the age of 26 years. He will be deeply missed by his beloved mother Debra Vokey; his father Gordon Greaves; brothers, Paul Vokey and Jason Repa; his paternal father Charles Fraser, and his wife Tina Fraser; his sisters, Tessa and Rhiannon; as well as by Lynn Costar; and his beloved daughter McKenzie. Chuck is also survived by his son Eric from B.C.; his grandmothers, Eileen Vokey, Shirley Vokey and Flora Fraser; his aunt Cindy Vokey; uncle Tom Campbell; cousins, Tara and Richard LaPlante and their son Brady; cousins, Brandi and Karl Stovel and their daughter Rhiannon; aunt Elizabeth Vokey (Auntie Cookie); uncle Vic and aunt Anita; and his cousin Peter Greaves. He is also survived by his great-aunt Nancy Fear, cousins, Ronnie and Ted Fear and family, all of England; his uncles, Lynn Fraser and Doug Fraser, and aunt Joyce, all of Winnipeg. GABRY - John William Gabry, passed away at the Bethany Care Centre in Calgary on June 16, 1997 at the age of 92 years. He is survived by his sister Julia Melnyk of Edmonton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his wife Doris in 1974, his brother Walter Gabry, and his two sisters, Sofie Shurgelo and Mary Kostiw.
