ALLAN - On November 18, 1997, Lynda Gail, late of Delta, B.C., aged 49 years. Survived by her daughter Angie Allan; mother Vicky McMillian; sisters, Bonnie McMillian (Dee), Wendy (Craig) Daws; niece Erin; nephew Collin; loving friend Patti; special friends, Jim, John, Rusty, Troch. Friendship gathering in memory of Lynda will be held Sunday, November 23 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Hillside Boy's and Girl's Club, 11339 - 84 Avenue, Delta. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Boy's and Girl's Club of Delta and the Vancouver Rape Relief would be appreciated. COLUMBIA - BOWELL. (11/21/1997).

ALLERY - July 24, 1950 - December 19, 1997. Sandra Mary Allery (nee Saunders), beloved wife of Dave Allery of Calgary, went to be with the Lord while at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on Friday, December 19, 1997, after a courageous battle with Systemic Scleroderma, at the age of 47 years. Sandy was very active with Kinettes and K-ettes where she held various executive positions and was a life member. Besides her loving husband, Sandy is survived by her son Dan, her daughter Lindsay, all of Calgary, and her father Bernie Saunders of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her mother Mildred Saunders in 1990. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke's Catholic Church (corner of Northmount Drive and Northland Drive N.W.), on Tuesday, December 23, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. William H. Trienekens, Celebrant. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens at a later date. If friends so desire, the family would appreciate memorial tributes be made directly to the "Friends of Sandy" Scleroderma Trust Fund c/o the Royal Bank of Canada, 144, 250 Shawville Boulevard S.E., Calgary, Alberta T2Y 2Z7. Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Wendy Tink and the Internal Medicine staff at the Peter Lougheed Hospital. In living memory of Sandy Allery, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS and HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES "Crowfoot Chapel", 82 CROWFOOT CIRCLE N.W. (12/20/1997).

ANDERSON - Mrs. Hazel Irene Anderson, beloved wife of Harold Anderson of Calgary, passed away suddenly at Central Park Lodge on Tuesday, September 16, 1997 at the age of 79 years. Beside her husband, she will be lovingly remembered by her children, son Gary Anderson of Vancouver; and her daughter Gail (Bob) Vandenberg of Calgary; as well as two grandsons, Mark Vandenberg of Oklahoma and Craig Vandenberg of Calgary; one great-grandson Kyle Vandenberg; three brothers, Clifford (Jean) Halverson of Vancouver, Kenny (Verna) Halverson of Taber and Lawrence (May) Halverson of Calgary; and two sisters, Lilian Hill of Vancouver and Clarine Johnson of Saskatchewan. At the family's request, no Funeral Service will be held. In lieu of flowers, if desired, a donation in Hazel's memory may be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 1825 Park Road S.E., Calgary, AB, T2G 3Y6. DUROCHER - Mr. Victor Brian Durocher of Calgary, passed away on November 15, 1997 at the age of 33 years. Announcements later by LEYDEN'S FUNERAL HOMES LTD. (11/21/1997).

DUTTON - Eleanor Ruth Dutton passed away at her residence on November 26, 1997 at the age of 69 years. Eleanor is survived by her husband Reginald; daughter Laurie (Eric) Dutton-Jones of Vancouver, B.C.; and son Jeffrey (Beverly) Dutton; one grandchild Samantha. Also survived by Art (Shirley) Armour of Edmonton; Les (Margaret) Armour and Robert Armour of Calgary. If family and friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 1825 Park Road S.E., Calgary, T2G 3Y6. DWORNIK - Stella Dwornik passed away peacefully, quietly and with dignity on October 27, 1997. She was born August 19, 1923 in Poland. Stella is survived by her loving husband of fifty-five years, Mike. Mike and Stella raised three loving daughters, Josilin (Jaret) Burgoyne, Judy (Barry) Martin and Linda Dwornik (Merlyn Hirsch). She is the loving grandmother to Kristena and Jaret Burgoyne, all of Calgary. Stella is also survived by her sister Joan (Stu) Wilkinson; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Mildred Youzwyshyn. The family wish to sincerely thank the Nurses and Doctors of Unit 59 at the Rockyview Hospital. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at FOSTER'S FUNERAL HOMES "Garden Chapel", 3220 - 4 Street N.W. on Thursday, October 30, 1997 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Foster's Funeral Homes "Garden Chapel" on Friday, October 31, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. DYCK - John Dyck, passed away peacefully at home in Calgary on October 4, 1997 at the age of 80 years. John was predeceased by his loving wife Katherine Spencer in April of 1996, and two brothers, George and Abe. He will be sadly missed by his children, Alice Spencer; Stan Spencer, and great-grandson Dustin; Larry (Glayne) Spencer, and their children, Dylan and Stephanie; Dorothy Andersen; Lorna (Peter) Pelletier and Charles Spencer. John is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson. John was born in Manitoba and served overseas with the Canadian Army during World War II. He worked for a time building grain elevators; then drove truck for Hill and Hill Security Moving Companies and then was employed with the City of Calgary, Street and Maintenance Department, retiring in 1984. ALEXIEWICH - John (Ivan) Alexiewich of Calgary, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on June 24, 1997 at the age of 94 years, beloved father and father-in-law of Anthony and Nancy Alexiewich of Hudson Bay, Sask., Diana Alexiewich of Sherwood Park, and Ann Koziol of Beaumont; dearly beloved grandfather of Barbara (Blair) Walker, Corianne Alexiewich, J.R. (Gary) and Morgan Koziol; and dear great-grandfather of Amy Lee and Justin John Walker. He was predeceased by his beloved and devoted wife Alice Alexiewich (nee Holowchuk) in 1989, his son John George in 1970, his grandson Michael Alexiewich in 1992, four brothers, Jacob in 1960 in Siberia, Bill in 1970 in Ukraine, George in 1972 in Romania, and Nick in 1985 in Edmonton, and one sister Mafta (Martha) Petrunik in 1994 in Ukraine. John was born in Stawchany, Bukovina, Ukraine and came to Canada in 1925 to Raymore, Sask. where he farmed. In 1930 he moved to High Prairie, AB where he homesteaded and farmed until 1936. John then resided in Manitoba and Saskatchewan until moving to Calgary in 1961. John was a very active member of the progressive movement of the Association of United Ukrainian Canadians and served in various executive capacities. He was a great worker and supporter for peace and unity for all the people in the world and was an advocate for nuclear disarmament. Relatives and friends are invited for Visitation at LEYDEN'S FUNERAL HOME (17 Avenue and 2 Street S.W.), on Sunday, June 29, 1997 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Leyden's "Chapel of Remembrance" on Monday, June 30, 1997 at 2:30 p.m. with Mr. William Chomyn officiating. Interment will follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. LEYDEN'S FUNERAL HOMES LTD., Directors of Services. (6/27/1997).
