She is survived by her loving family, one son Beverly (Yvette) of Whitecourt, Alberta; daughters, Mary Jane (Bill) Stewart of White Rock, BC, Susan Whitney of Edmonton, Doris (Rod) Perks of Three Hills, Candyce Nazarko of Calgary, Holly Beattie of Calgary, Elizabeth (Peter) Cheesbrough of Denver, CO, and Jennifer (Harold) Fichtenberg of St. Albert, AB; twenty-four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joan MacHan of Innisfail and Audrey MacKay of Grande Prairie; and a brother Gary Carleton of Calgary; and daughter-in-law Maureen Malaka. She was predeceased by her husband John, son Richard and brothers, Frank, Russel, Herb, Baillie and Ed. Prayer Services will be held on Monday, July 21, 1997 at 8:00 p.m. from St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Three Hills. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday July 22, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Three Hills, AB, with Father Gani Avinante, Celebrant. MALICK - Rose Marie Malick passed away at the Foothills Hospital after a lengthy illness on November 14, 1997. Loving mother of Barbara Gulka of Lloydminster, Steven Malick of Regina, and Louann Malick of Calgary. She also leaves to mourn, her sister Florence Wiess of Calgary; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A Private Memorial Service was held at the Foothills Hospital Chapel. MALSBURY - Dorothy Malsbury, passed away December 6, 1997 at the Bethany Care Centre at the age of 96 years. Dorothy was born in London, England in 1901 and moved to Calgary with her family in June of 1912, and has resided here since. She was a longtime member of the Hillhurst United Church, and Past Noble Grand of Esther Rebekah Lodge No. 1. Dorothy worked as a secretary at Burns Foods for thirty-five years, at the Glenbow Foundation and at the Hillhurst United Church. She also spent many hours volunteering at the Kerby Centre. Dorothy is survived by her brother Tom and Kitty Malsbury, of Vancouver; her niece Ruth Leavitt, of Calgary; great nieces and nephews and their families, Karen and Bill Rice, of Peace River, Richard and Vicky Clark, of Lethbridge, Susan Rodominski, of North Carolina, and Ron and Ann Clark of Kelowna, BC; and other relatives and friends. Dorothy was predeceased by her brother Reg Malsbury and sister Ethel Clark. A heartfelt thanks is extended to the nurses, doctors and other staff at the Peter Lougheed Centre and the Bethany Care Centre for their loving care of Dorothy during her stay. MAMRAK - Pearl Mamrak, beloved wife of Mr. Anthony Mamrak of Calgary, passed away at the Foothills Hospital on October 31, 1997, at the age of 70 years. She is the loving mother of Mary-Ann Payne of Slave Lake, Alberta, Deborah Mamrak of Medicine Hat, Alberta, and Thomas Mamrak of Calgary. Pearl is also survived by her ten loving grandchildren, and by her sister Louise Voter of Milo, Alberta. She is predeceased by her two brothers, John and Ernest. MARCHAND - Adelard (Dee) Joseph of Calgary, formerly of Storthoaks, SK, passed away at the Father Lacombe Nursing Home on July 1, 1997 at the age of 92 years. Dee is survived by a son Harvey and Lill; two daughters, Marlene and Lois; grandchildren, Jacqueline and her husband Wade Lovell, Kelly and her husband Peter Blomberg, Gordon and his wife Aletta Marchand, and Heather and her husband Don Smith; as well as six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Kate Marchand and Alida Madsen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Clara on December 21, 1993. MARIANI - Mr. Elio Catarino Mariani, of Calgary, passed away at the Peter Lougheed on June 16, 1997 at the age of 88 years. He was born in Fossombrone, Pesaro, Italy and came to Canada with his family in 1949 leaving his clothing business behind. He was employed with the City of Calgary for twenty-three years until his retirement in 1973. During his time in Canada he never wavered his love of Italy but embraced his new home by making sure he exercised his right to vote at every opportunity. Many friends were made through his outgoing personality and love of people. His love of Calgary was expressed by his construction of a miniature Calgary Tower erected proudly in front of his house. He was featured several times in the local papers and as far away as Los Angeles, California. His love of food and friendship was shared hundreds of times with friends and relatives during his many Sunday dinners. He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Francis and Domenic Chiappini, Vera Winchester; six sons and daughters-in-law, Norbert and Arlene, Marco and Diana, Alan and Valerie, Raymond and Virginia, Jose and Nancy, Alberto and Karie. He is also survived by a sister Adolfa Ligi of Italy and many other relatives and friends in Canada and Italy. He was predeceased by his first wife Zelinda in 1968 and second wife Maria in 1992. MARION - Donald Scott, passed away suddenly in Vancouver, B.C., December 18, 1997 at the age of 39 years. He is survived by his father Don (Marguerite); two sisters, Debbie Marion and Judy (Barry) Varga; and a niece Rachelle, all of Calgary. Don was predeceased by his mother Donna in 1979. MARSH - Mr. Francis (Bud) Robert Marsh passed away on June 15, 1997 after a lengthy illness with cancer at the age of 76 years, beloved father of Bonnie and Kevin Haines of Calgary, Dennis and Judy Marsh of High River, and Dianne and Bill Daniel of Calgary. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Eunice Marsh; four grandchildren, Todd Payliss, Penticton, B.C., Andrew and Kathryn Marsh of High River, Dallas Daniel of Calgary; his sister Mildred Marsh of Swift Current, Sask.; as well as two nieces, Maureen Marsh, Surrey, B.C., Gail Wotherspoon, Success, Sask; and one nephew Don Marsh, Surrey, B.C. Mr. Marsh served with the Calgary Highlanders in England, France, Belgium and Holland during World War II.
