Besides her loving husband, Anna is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jan and Ewa Zienkiewicz of Calgary and Waldek and Krystyna Zienkiewicz of Germany; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Nick Malenica of Kelowna, British Columbia; as well as four grandchildren. Private Family Services will be held. KYNOCH - Mabel Theresa, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 1997 at the Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary, at the age of 72 years, after a long struggle with heart problems. Mabel will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband Fred; her sons, Larry (Anna), Lloyd (Margaret); and her grandchildren, Kevin (Jennifer), Diana, Jennifer and Jeffrey. She will also be sadly missed by her sisters, brothers, relatives and friends. Mabel will always be remembered for her many volunteer services throughout the community. Funeral Services will be held at Parkdale United Church, 2919 - 8 Avenue N.W., on Monday, November 17, 1997 at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Jan Craig of the United Church of Canada officiating. KYTYK - Annie, 88 years. Grandmother, mother, sister, wise woman. Born Annie Peidwerbeski near Borden, Saskatchewan a lifetime ago, she grew up poor on the prairies. The eldest of many children, Annie left school at an early age to support her family and eventually fall in love. She married Peter Belyk and together they had three children, Sophie Anne, Nestor and Andrew. Annie survived the Depression and the loss of her first husband and second child. She later married Nick Kytyk and moved from full-time farming, retiring in Saskatoon. She took great pleasure in gardening and always gave thanks for small miracles like rain and sunshine. Annie is survived by her daughter Sophie Anne Penney; her son Andrew Peter Belyk; grandchildren, Melodie Anne, Kirk, Kerrie, and Merrin; brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, and nephews. We will miss shelling peas with her, the taste of summer borscht, gazing in amazement at her wonderful garden and the sparkle of her eyes...windows to a soul who knew much pain in this life, but gave great joy. AIRTH - Phyllis Georgie Airth (nee Plaxton) passed away peacefully on the morning of July 4, 1997 at the Rockyview Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Bert on April 8, 1989 and by her parents, Charles and Harriet Plaxton, seven brothers and four sisters. Georgie is survived by her children, Patricia Woodrow, Bert Airth, Gail (Hector) McFadyen and Susan (Dave) Wehrhahn; her grandchildren, Bruce Woodrow, Randy Woodrow, Penny (Jeff) Brent, Julie (Trevor Cossarini) McFadyen, Shannon McFadyen, Vicki McFadyen, Lisa (Kevin) Murphy, Janice (Jim) Parker; and eight great-grandchildren. Born in Barrie, Ontario and raised in Toronto, Georgie graduated from the University of Toronto where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree. After touring Europe for several months she and her sister Iola opened a broadcasting studio. Georgie and Bert were married in Toronto in 1933. They spent the first year of their life in Great Bear Lake. In 1951, Bert and Georgie and their four children moved to Calgary. Together, Bert and Georgie travelled to many parts of Canada and the world in connection with Bert's various business activities. Georgie had a deep and caring love for her family and a strong passion for business and the stock market. Memorial Services will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church (1009 - 15 Avenue S.W.), on Monday, July 7, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Samuel J. Stewart officiating. AITKEN - Matthew Aitken passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 1997 at the age of 89 years. He is survived by his son, Douglas (Moira) of England, his daughters, Sandi and Billie Aitken of Calgary, and his grandchildren, Pamela, Jackie and Andrew. Matt was predeceased by his wife, Anne MacColloch Aitken in 1993. A Memorial Service will be held in Scotland at a later date. ALAIN - Mr. Zaki Alain, of Calgary, passed away November 13, 1997 at Cedars Villa Nursing Home at the age of 83 years. He is survived by his children, Elais Alain (Souraya), Tony Elain (Ousyma), Lou-Lou Bojakli (Jack), Samir Alain (Samia), George Alain (Reim) and Pierre Alain (Shelly), all of Calgary; twenty grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister Hadie Alain of Calgary; and many other relatives and friends. Zaki was predeceased by his wife Zakie in April of 1996. Zaki has been a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Prayers will be held at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 7103 - 20A Street S.E., this evening, Friday, November 14 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bernadette Catholic Church on Saturday, November 15 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. DOBBS - Mr. Kenneth (Ken) Worth Dobbs, beloved husband of Mrs. Evelyn Dobbs of Calgary, passed away at the Rockyview Hospital on Monday, November 3, 1997 after a lengthy illness at the age of 64 years. Ken was born July 14, 1933 in Lethbridge. He attended L.C.I. in Lethbridge. He played clarinet and tenor saxophone, and was a member of the Lethbridge junior band and junior symphony as well as the Stardusters Dance Band. Ken took a petroleum engineering course at the Mount Royal College in 1952 and 1953. He joined Canada Cities Services Petroleum Ltd. in 1955 where he worked until 1983. He was married to Eve Roach in 1962. Ken was a member of S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A. for ten years and was a founding member, Calgary Ostomy Society, and past president of the Respiratory Respiratos. Besides his loving wife, Ken is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Cheryl Dobbs of Calgary; a daughter Cathleen Joan Dobbs and Lyle Andrus of Vauxhall; three grandchildren, Brooke, Dillon and Holly. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Ruth Dobbs of Pincher Creek. He was predeceased by his parents, Samuel and Marjorie Dobbs, two brothers, Gordon and Robert Dobbs. Funeral Services will be held at St. Gabriel's Anglican Church (504 - 30 Avenue N.W.), on Friday, November 7, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dennis Frayne officiating.
