BOZSIK - Julius Bozsik of Calgary, passed away on October 27, 1997. Funeral Services will be held at LEYDEN'S "Chapel of Remembrance" (17 Avenue and 2 Street S.W.), on Thursday, October 30, 1997 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Benedicto Marino of St. Mary's Cathedral officiating. Interment to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery (30 Avenue and 1 Street S.W.). LEYDEN'S FUNERAL HOMES LTD., Directors of Service.

ABRAMENKO - Mrs. Nora Abramenko, of Calgary, passed away at the George Boyack Nursing Home on November 10, 1997 at the age of 90 years. Nora was born in Russia and came to Canada with her father, the late Paul Baronets in 1923, where they settled in Three Hills, Alberta. In 1928, she married Ehnaty Abramenko and together they farmed in the Three Hills district until the 1940's, when they moved to Calgary. She was predeceased by her husband Ehnaty (Uncle "E"), in 1986. Nora had resided in the George Boyack Nursing Home for the past eighteen years. Her niece Em Morrison, wishes to express her sincere appreciation to the Fourth Floor Staff of the George Boyack, for the years of care that Nora received, especially in the past few months. Funeral Services will be held at LEYDEN'S "Chapel of Remembrance" (17 Avenue and 2 Street S.W.), today at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Services to follow at Union Cemetery. As a tribute to Nora, Leyden's will be making a donation to the George Boyack Nursing Home. Arrangements in care of LEYDEN'S FUNERAL HOMES LTD. "Golden Rule Member" (11/13/1997).

ABRAMS - Robert Bryan (Bob) Abrams, beloved husband of Mrs. Edith Anne (Edie) Abrams of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on October 25, 1997 at the age of 67 years. Bob worked throughout his life in the Oil & Gas industry as a consultant and in sales, where he enjoyed traveling and meeting people. Bob's greatest joys were spending time with his grandchildren, taking photographs of nature, collecting model trains, and various sports. Bob was always very proud of his two daughters, Nadene Turgeon and her husband Gerry and Nancy Abrams, all of Calgary; and his three grandchildren, Aron, Danielle and Hayley. He is also survived by his sister Marlene, and her husband Len Hinz of Laird, Saskatchewan, his father and mother-in-law, Peter and Anna McCallum of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, as well as numerous other family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Park Memorial Chapel", (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.), on Wednesday, October 29, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Lewry of Central United Church officiating. In living memory of Bob, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, "Park Memorial Chapel", 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W., CALGARY. (10/28/1997).

ABREY - Jane Agnes Abrey (nee Contois), beloved wife of Mr. Stan Abrey of Calgary, passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on October 15, 1997 at the age of 77 years. Jane was born on June 10, 1920 in Gypsumville, Manitoba. She resided in Winnipeg until she came to Calgary in 1987. Jane was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Besides her loving husband Stan and her devoted grandson Derek Lucier, Jane is survived by five sons and two daughters-in-law, Peter and Trudy Contois, Stanley and Judy Contois, and Joe Lucier, all of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Bill Lucier of Lundar, Manitoba and Russell Lucier of Calgary; six daughters and four sons-in-law, Josephine and Charles Vivier of Calgary, Cecilia and Clifford Halaburda of Gypsumville, Manitoba, Jacqueline Lucier of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Elizabeth and Charlie Rudolph, Linda and Simon Brown, and Blanche Lucier, all of Winnipeg, Manitoba; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Alice and George Hay of Calgary, and many nieces and nephews. Jane was predeceased by her son Edwin Lucier, and her brother Angus Contois. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES "Park Memorial Chapel", today, October 19, 1997 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Salvation Army - Glenmore Temple (921 - 68 Avenue S.W.), on Monday, October 20, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. with Captain Larry Martin officiating. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens. ACHATZ - Ms. Berta, passed away peacefully at the Rockyview General Hospital on July 4, 1997, at the age of 81 years, surrounded by her loving family. She will be lovingly remembered by niece Angelika and her husband Arnold Hubick; grandnephew Frank and his children, Rusty and Jory; grandniece Susan and her children, Andrea and Anna Marie; grandniece Angela and her daughter Tina. Berta is also survived by her three sisters, one brother and numerous relatives in Germany. She was a dedicated nurse most of her life. Berta worked at the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital as well as Holy Cross and Colonel Belcher Hospitals in Calgary. She was a very compassionate and loving person and will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 7103 - 20 A Street S.E., on Tuesday, July 8, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. with the Reverend Rolando O. Badiola, Celebrant. ADAMS - Mrs. Alice Adams (nee Murdoch) of Calgary, passed away peacefully at her residence on November 18, 1997 at the age of 89 years. Alice was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and came to Canada as a child. She pioneered dance in Calgary, opening one of the first dance schools in the city in 1927. Over the years, she studied dance in New York, Seattle, London, Edinburgh and Paris. The annual Alice Murdoch School of Dancing reviews were a mainstay of the Calgary entertainment scene until her retirement in 1949. During the Second World War she choreographed a show that was performed almost four hundred times in army, air force and P.O.W. camps in Alberta. Alice also choreographed the annual Rotary Club of Calgary President's Ball Show for forty years and was a recipient of a Paul Harris Fellowship Award for her contribution to Rotary. In recognition of her significant contribution to the development of dance in Alberta, Alice received the Alberta Dance Award at the 1989 Dance in Canada Awards Gala. She and her husband Bill were proprietors of Adams Electric in Banff for many years. More recently, she kept active and happy with her aquacize, bridge, trips to Hawaii and many cherished friends. Her children and grandchildren were an enormous source of pride and joy to her. She had a dancer's spirit and the memory of her incredible strength, resilience and willpower will forever inspire us all. Alice is survived by her children, Ryan and Carolyn Adams, Sharon LaRiviere and Vicki Adams Willis, all of Calgary; five grandchildren, Jane and Stephie LaRiviere, Dr. Sandra Adams, David Adams and Alice Adams-Wood; as well as a great-granddaughter Amy Adams. She is also survived by her brother James Murdoch and her sister Jean Simpson, both of Calgary. Alice was predeceased by her husband Bill Adams in 1978. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Park Memorial Chapel" (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.), on Friday, November 21, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Calgary Rotary Club Foundation, 622, 304 - 8 Avenue S.W., Calgary, Alberta T2P 1C2. In living memory of Alice Adams, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES "Park Memorial Chapel", 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W., CALGARY. (11/19/1997).

BECK - Edith May Beck of Calgary passed away peacefully at the Bethany Care Centre on July 22, 1997 in her 89th year. Mom was born Edith May Davies in Pentra in S. Wales on September 27, 1907. She came with her family to Beaver Mines, AB at the age of twelve. She married John Beck in Calgary on July 31, 1928. She was predeceased by him in August 1954 and by her grandson John in February 1985. She is survived by Bill Beck, Joyce Mann, John (Lorna) Beck, all of Calgary, and Linda (Alvin) Hausauer of Basile, LA. Also survived by ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. No Funeral Service. Cremation by Leyden's Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice (7/23/1997).

KOSAREWICZ - Mr. Paul Kosarewicz of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 11, 1997 at Agape Manor, at the age of 95 years. He leaves to mourn, Michalina, his loving wife of sixty-five years, and friends. He was a very bright man and a very loving and kind husband. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him. Paul was born in Kaminka Stumidlowa, Galicia, Austria (Ukraine) on July 3, 1902. He came to Canada in 1927 and resided n ear Edmonton for two years, before moving to Calgary in 1929 where he has resided ever since. Paul retired in 1967 after thirty-five years of service with Domtar. Many thanks to all those people and caregivers who have helped Paul over the years. Cremation. No Service as requested. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of their choice. In living memory of Paul Kosarewicz, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOME "Chapel of the Bells", 2720 CENTRE STREET NORTH. (12/17/1997).
