STEVENS - Loraine Stevens of the Bethany Care Centre, Airdrie passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on November 3, 1997 at the age of 76. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Dennis Tross of Airdrie; a son Kirk of Aldergrove, B.C.; and six grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Vernie Hairsine and Ellen Ansley; and two brothers, Alan Combs and Jim Combs. She was predeceased by her daughter Bonnie Marconi. In living memory of Loraine Stevens, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, "Chapel of the Bells", 2720 CENTRE STREET NORTH.
Darlene Grada Schmitke
SCHMITKE – Darlene Grada Schmitke was born to Lewis and Cena Cole on Aug. 30, 1943. She was raised in New Norway and passed away Aug. 6, 2004 at the age of 60 years. On Feb. 26, 1966 she was united in marriage to Garry Schmitke. To this union two daughters and two sons were born. They made their home on a farm in the Camrose area where she enjoyed and spent her days in the outdoors.
Darlene was predeceased by her father Lewis, mother Cena, son Daryl, daughter Jackie and sister Diane Lewis. She leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband Garry, two children Gerri (Darry) Olsen and Mark, son-in-law Gary Grundberg, five grandchildren, Cody, Amanda, Morgan, Bradley and Emily, and two brothers Larry and Ben. Funeral services were held on Wed. Aug. 11, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. from the Camrose United Church with Rev. Mary Ann Pastuck and Rev. Brian Hunter (St. Mary’s Hospital Pastoral Care) officiating. Burial of cremated remains took place in the Century Meadows Baptist Cemetery.
Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to to the St. Mary’s Hospital CT Scanner Fund, the Cross Cancer Institute (11560 University Ave, Edmonton, AB T5G 1Z2) or to the charity of one’s choice.

Mrs. Isabella Maria Torpe
TORPE – Mrs. Isabella Maria Torpe of Camrose, passed away on Friday, July 30, 2004 at the age of 82 years. Left to cherish her memory are: her husband Curtis, her children Gerald (Grace) of Camrose, Larry of Camrose and Donna (Doug) Coombs of Camrose. Isabella is also survived by her nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two foster brothers and one foster sister.
Isabella was prede-ceased by her parents, two brothers, one sister, two half-sisters and one half-brother.
Funeral services were held on Wed. Aug. 4, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. from the Camrose United Church with Rev. Mary Ann Pastuck and Rev. Brian Hunter (St. Mary’s Pastoral Care) officiating. Interment followed in the Camrose Cemetery.

Hazel Strong
STRONG - It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who passed away in her sleep on Thursday, June 12, 1997 at the age of 94 years. She leaves us with a lifetime of wonderful memories and will be greatly missed. Hazel is survived by her two daughters, Glenna of Calgary, Norma Trotter of Fort Macleod; three sons, Mervin of Rainbow Lake, Merrill (Judy) of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, and Garry and his companion Joan Reinhardt of Calgary. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Otis in 1988, her son Donald in 1961, and her grandson Craig in 1993. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Crowfoot Chapel" (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Tuesday, June 17, 1997 at 3:00 p.m. Graveside Service will be held at Queen's Park Cemetery on Wednesday, June 18, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor's choice. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Cedars Villa Nursing Home Maple Grove, for the excellent care during her stay, also to care givers, Muriel Morison and Joan Holden. LASSESEN – Mrs. Mary Lassesen of Camrose passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at the age of 77 years.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Cliff; children Lowell (Susan) Perkin of Hay Lakes, Leighton Perkin of Camrose, Lorne Perkin (Margaret Zak) of Ohaton, Susan (Ron (Fowler) of Edberg, Beverly Lassesen of Red Deer and Barry Lassesen of Camrose; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers Jack (Judy) Molcak of Lethbridge and Bob (Connie) Molcak of Peerless Lake; three sisters Irene (George) Gruninger of McGrath, Sharon Molcak of Cardston and Ruth (Allen) De Rosier of Coaldale. Mary was predeceased by her first husband Ralph Bolt, her second husband Irwin Perkin, and her sister Anne.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, Aug. 2 at 1 p.m. from the Camrose United Church with Rev. Mary Ann Pastuck and Rev. Brian Hunter (St. Mary’s Hospital Pastoral Care) officiating. Interment will follow in the Camrose Cemetery.

ANDERSON – Hans Anderson of Camrose passed away on June 11, 2004 at the age of 79 years. He is survived by his wife Irmgard; one daughter Tammy Debnam of Camrose; one granddaughter Jordyn; and one sister Inge (Karlis) Meies of Sweden. He was predeceased by two sisters and one brother.
A Memorial Service was held Monday, June 14 at 2pm from Messiah Lutheran Church, Camrose.

GUITTARD – Mr. Clifford Alfred Guittard of Camrose passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2004 at the age of 80 years.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Helen; children Bonnie (Les) Anderson of Camrose, Gerry (Deb) of St. Albert and Sharon (Grant) Bourree of Grande Prairie; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters Evelyn, Audrey and Vera. Cliff was predeceased by his parents and two brothers.
Funeral Services were held on Thursday, June 17 at 2 p.m. from the Camrose United Church with Rev. Mary Ann Pastuck officiating. Burial of cremated remains followed in the Camrose Cemetery.

Charlie Edward Ames
AMES – On Thursday, June 3, 2004 Mr. Charlie Edward Ames of Bashaw passed away at the age of 79 years. Charlie was born in Bashaw on Sept. 2, 1924. Charlie loved his life as a farmer. He lived and farmed in the Bashaw area and also owned a store in Bashaw. He enjoyed spending time with young people and worked with the Bashaw 4-H Beef Club for 15 years. He never worried about being recognized for his efforts and did what he thought should be done. Charlie also felt very strong about his first church at Emmanuel Church in Meeting Creek and later at Zion Lutheran Church in Bashaw. His beliefs coloured every part of his being by treating those around him with fairness, honesty and consideration. He lived his faith and was firm in his conviction that we, as a church, could do whatever needed to be done. He cared most for his loving family who were the centre of his life. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy; daughters Beverly-Ann of Bashaw and Sharon (Stan) of Carstairs; three grandsons Michael (Tracy) of Drayton Valley, Christopher (Julie) of Edmonton and Evan of Red Deer; three great-grandchildren Kennedy, Avery and Dawson (and his mother Elizabeth); as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents Bill and Lexi; brother Don; nephew Charles and grandson Brant. A Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, June 8 at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Bashaw with Pastor Monica Denk officiating. Interment followed at Meeting Creek Cemetery. Memorial donations may be
made to the Zion Lutheran Church, Bashaw or Canadian Cancer Society.
