KOOP
HENRY KOOP, beloved husband of Norma Koop of Pincher Creek, Alberta, passed away in Calgary, after a fatal fall, on September 13, 2003 at the age of 81 years. Henry was born in Russia on December 23, 1921 and emmigrated to Canada with his family in 1925. He remained on the family farm and pastored at the Springridge Mennonite Church for 18 years. Henry and Norma moved to Pincher Creek in 1988, where he enjoyed tutoring, bowling, fishing and gardening until the last year of his life. Left to mourn him are his wife Norma, and his children: Dora (Rene Pelletier, Victoria and Nicole), David (Cheryl, Jennifer, Matthew, Chelsea and Elisabeth), Wesley (Sherry, Alyssa and Savannah), Wanda (Kevan Dobsin, Sarah and Jaden) and Milton (Phyllis Friesen). A Funeral Service was held at Springridge Mennonite Church, Pincher Creek on Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Buhler officiating. Interment followed in the Springridge Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Henry’s memory to a charity of your choice.

SIMPSON - AL (ALVIN)
March 1, 1951 – September 11, 2003
Al Simpson, beloved husband of Bonnie and father of Allyson and Jayne, passed away at the Foothills Hospital suddenly at the age of 52 years.
Al is survived by his mother, Mary Simpson, his brothers Dennis (Darlene), Marvin (Teri), Larry (Ina) and their families as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Al was born and raised in Pincher Creek, Alberta. He attended the University of Alberta where he obtained his Bachelor of Commerce and for the past 23 years has been involved in Equipment Financing. Al was a very devoted family man and a wonderful friend to all who knew him. His greatest love in life was his girls. He will be sadly missed.
Funeral Services were held at Westminster Presbyterian Church (290 Edgepark Blvd. N.W.) on Saturday Sept. 13, 2003 at 2:30 P.M.
In living memory of Al Simpson, a tree will be planted at Nose Creek Valley by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Crowfoot Chapel, 82 Crowfoot Circle N.W., CALGARY.

BUFFALO
ADA LORRAINE BUFFALO “Iinakksipiiksakiiwa”,
beloved wife of Sam Holloway Sr. of the Peigan Nation, was called home to be with the Creator on Sept. 8, 2003 in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 52 years.
Besides her loving husband, Sam, Ada is survived by her children: Sam Jr. Buffalo (Lynn), Scott Buffalo, Randy Buffalo (Shannon) and Jordan
Holloway; her granddaughter Eileen Wolf Tail and by her adopted children: Delaney, Lori, Francine and Adel Holloway. She was predeceased by her parents Ben and Ethel Buffalo in 1989 and 1990.
Ada was born in Brocket on Feb. 21, 1951 to Ben and Ethel Buffalo.
She received her education at the Anglican Residential School in Brocket and St. Paul’s Residential School, Standoff, Alberta. Ada was a very hard working woman and she loved her family very dearly. Ada was kind and always giving and she always had a smile, no matter what. She made everyone laugh with her stories and jokes. Ada loved her brothers, sisters, many aunts and uncles and numerous nieces and nephews, with all her heart. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends and by her special friend Mary Many Grey Horses. Ada was a very courageous woman.
A Wake Service was held at the home of Sam Holloway. The funeral service was held at the Brocket Community Hall on Monday, Sept. 15, 2003 with Archdeacon Sidney Black officiating. Interment followed in the Brocket Cemetery.

WILLIAMS
MR. ROBERT “BOB” SAMUEL WILLIAMS beloved husband of the late Mrs. Catherine Williams of Lundbreck, Alberta, passed away at the Extendicare on Sunday, May 18, 2003 at the age of 99 years. He is survived by his children Sylvia (Derelle) Jensen of Duffield, Alberta, Tom (Pat) Williams of Lundbreck and Lorna (Fred) Dorner of Lethbridge as well as his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. At Bob’s request no funeral services will be held. Bob and Catherine’s ashes will be interred at a later date on their beloved farm north of Lundbreck. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Tributes may be made to S.T.A.R.S. (Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society), P.O. Box 570, 1441 Aviation Park N.E., Calgary, Alberta. T2E 8M7. HEWITT
CHARLOTTE NANCY HEWITT (nee Crayford) passed away peacefully at her Swan Valley Lodge residence on May 19, 2003 at the age of 86 years, after a lengthy illness. She was born April 23, 1917 at Lundbreck, Alberta, where Charlotte received her formal education. She married Wilfred Vern Hewitt in 1939. Was Post Mistress in Boswell for many years, where she owned and operated the Destiny Bay Store until the age of 65 years. Charlotte was a long standing member of the Boswell Community Hall, a member of the Mother’s Club and later the Ladies Club. She was predeceased by her husband Wilfred, son Dale Hewitt, son Stanley Hewitt and brother Dick Crayford and sister-in-law Laura and brother Bill Crayford and her parents. Charlotte will be sadly missed by her children Rosa Anne (Allan) Howell, Ernest (Alice) Crayford, Vern (Bev) Hewitt, Donald (Brenda) Hewitt and Chris (Leslie) Hewitt and numerous grandchildren. The funeral services were held on Thursday, May 22, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Boswell Community Hall with Father Frank Gan celebrant. Interment followed at the Boswell Community Cemetery, Boswell, BC. LINDSAY
KENNETH (KEN) LORNE LINDSAY passed away in the loving presence of his family on May 16, 2003 in Creston at the age of 60 years after a short illness with cancer. Ken was born in Ormstown, Quebec on July 27, 1942 and was educated in Huntingdon, Quebec. He married Cheryl on August 29, 1964 in Pincher Creek, Alberta. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary Branch 29 and enjoyed collecting Model Trucks. Ken was predeceased by his brother Gary and sister Joan. He is survived by his loving wife Cheryl, children Laura (Todd) Mehrer of Creston, Larry (Christine) Lindsay of Cranbrook, Lyla Lindsay of Cranbrook, grandchildren Robin, Lee, Kendall, Wayne, Patrick and Erin. Parents George and Lyla Lindsay of Prescott, Ont., brother Burt (Carole) Lindsay of Brampton, Ont., Betty Wilde (Wayne) of Calgary and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service was held May 21, 2003 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Creston with Pastor Harry Haberstock officiating. Friends wishing to make a memorial contribution in Ken’s name may do so to the Canadian Cancer Society, Box 307, Creston, BC, V0B 1G0 or to a charity of choice.
