THERRIAULT
EDWIN B. THERRIAULT, beloved husband of Mildred Therriault, passed away peacefully in Pincher Creek, Alberta on Thursday, July 3, 2003 at the age of 84 years. Edwin is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mildred and by his children: Francis (Millie), Shirley, Lorraine, Dovie, Joe (Cheryl), Dan (Brenda) and Lorne (Carmen). He is also survived by his foster children: Renay and Ivy; 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, who will miss him dearly. Edwin was predeceased by his sons: Alcide and Vernon, his grandson Donnie; his daughters-in-law: Patty and Evelyn and his son-in-law Arthur. Edwin lived and farmed in the Pincher Creek area all of his life and he was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. He will be fondly remembered for his wit and humour and love of all his family. We're sure he'll continue to play cards, curl and golf in his new home. A Funeral Service was held at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Pincher Creek, Alberta on Monday, July 7, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Long Vu officiating. Interment in Fairview Cemetery. A Prayer Service was held at St. Michael's Church on Sunday, July 6, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made in Edwin's memory to the Pincher Creek Emergency Services (Ambulance Equipment), Box 1086, Pincher Creek, AB, T0K 1W0 or to the Knights of Columbus Fr. Lacombe Council, Box 23, Pincher Creek, AB, T0K 1W0. Eden's Funeral Home assisting the family.

TERRE, JOHN EDWARD
John Edward Terre passed away peacefully with his family by his side, at the Pincher Creek Municipal Hospital Sunday, July 6, after battling cancer. He is survived by his daughter Marlene (Larry) Stef of Calgary, special friend Charlotte Dixon, his grandchildren, Todd and Rhonda Stef, four great-grandchildren, two brothers Adolf (Claire) of Ottawa and Alex (Marion) of Leduc, three sisters Anne (John) Boychuk of St. Paul, Mary Mandrusiak of St. Paul and Emma (Jack) Nicholson of Winnipeg, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy in 1973, his parents and one sister. Many will remember John as a dedicated planer man at Johnson Bros. Sawmills for 35 years. He then finished his working career at the Pincher Creek Municipal Hospital as a security guard. He loved his family, his friends, his music (accordion) and his cars. Visitation and Prayers were held at Pincher Funeral Chapel Wednesday, July 9 at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial was at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church Thursday, July 10 at 11 a.m. Interment Fairview Cemetery, followed by a reception at Pincher Funeral Chapel. Donations in John’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, c/o Ames Insurance, Box 1537, Pincher Creek, T0K 1W0 or Windy Slopes Health Foundation, Palliative Care, Box 968, Pincher Creek. Special thanks to the doctors and caregivers at the Pincher Creek Hospital. Arrangements entrusted to Pincher Funeral Chapel.

CHRISTOPHER GRANT AMES
AMES - Our dear CHRISTOPHER GRANT AMES passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 20, 2000 at the age of 22 years. Chris is survived by his mother Debbie; his father Gary; his brother Jeremy; his stepmother Kathy and stepsister Kristi; his stepfather Bruce Stewart and family and by his grandmothers; Charlotte Ames and Jopi Sawyer, as well as many other wonderful family members and friends. Born in Pincher Creek on October 5, 1977, Chris attended elementary school in Pincher Creek and junior and senior high in Lethbridge. He was currently attending the University of Lethbridge studying Kinesiology. He was involved in hockey, fishing, camping and dirt biking. Chris will always be remembered for his gentle nature, caring manner and wonderful sense of humor. He was always a true friend. The family would like to thank all those who have helped and supported us. The funeral service was held at the Pincher Creek Community Hall on Thursday, May 25, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. with Deborah Walker and Rev. Joyce Sasse officiating. Cremation to follow. Friends paid their respects at Eden's Funeral Chapel, Pincher Creek on Wednesday, May 24, 2000 from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made in Chris' memory to S.T.A.R.S. Air Ambulance, c/o Box 622, Pincher Creek, Alberta T0K 1W0. Funeral arrangements by EDEN'S FUNERAL HOME, Pincher Creek.

PETER DURKSEN
DURKSEN - MR. PETER DURKSEN, husband Mrs. Helen Durksen of Linden, Alberta, passed away at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital on Thursday, May 18, 2000 at the age of 78 years. Besides his wife Helen, Peter is survived by his children David (Alice) Durksen of Victoria, BC, Rosella (Ezra) Dabush of Thornhill, ON and Barbara (Steven) Elich of Pambrun, SK; five grandchildren, Jim (Cherie) Durksen, Leora (Eitan) Ashman, Nathanel (Angelique) Dabush, Beth Elich and Hannah Elich and two great grandchildren, Aliza Ashman and Adiel Ashman. He is also survived by three brothers David, Abraham and Jacob; two sisters Irma and Annie. He was predeceased by his parents David and Agnetha. Interment was held Saturday, May 20, 2000 at 9:00 a.m. at the Fairview Cemetery, Pincher Creek, AB. A Funeral Service was held at Cornerstone Funeral Home, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Saturday, May 20, 2000 at 11:30 a.m. If friends so desire, Memorial Tributes may be made to the Charity of one's choice. Honoured to serve the family, Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1K 7B1.

Arthur Waldemar Melin, of Drayton Valley
On Monday, April 14, 2003 Mr. Art Melin of Drayton Valley passed away peacefully at the age of 89 years. Art was born at Meeting Creek, AB on May 17, 1913 to William and Hildur Melin.
Art is survived by his loving wife, Ann-Marie of 62 years; sons Richard (Arlene); Ron (Gerry) all of Drayton Valley; Ray of Buck Creek; Dale (Dennice) of Alder Flats; and daughter Janice (Wade) Patten of Alder Flats; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.
A Celebration of Art’s life was held on Saturday, April 19, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Alder Flats Community Hall.
In lieu of floral tributes memorial donations may be made to the Charity of One’s Choice.
