WIENS - Gone home to be with his Saviour and Lord, KENNETH "KENNY" DWIGHT WIENS, at the age of 58 years, beloved husband of Jackie Wiens, of Pincher Creek. Besides his loving wife Jackie, Kenny is survived by three sisters, Diane (Lowell) Aldrich of California, Roxy (Roger) Pomrenski of Okotoks and Laurie (Harvey) Litchfield of Glenwood; nieces and nephews, Tara and her daughter Britney, Kelly, Traci (Curtis), Shaina, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins; his mother-in-law, Em Rainford of Pincher Creek; sister-in-law Terry (Ron) Sutter of Leduc and brother-in-law Matt (Denice) Rainford and their children Shamus, Megan and Gabriel of Pincher Creek; and a special little friend Tyler Scherger. Kenny was predeceased by his parents Ed and Melvina Wiens. Cremation. An Inurnment Service was held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2000 in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Pincher Creek (Hwy. #6, South). A Memorial Service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2000 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Pincher Creek, with Pastor Richard Williams officiating. STEVE SEKELLA of Lundbreck, beloved husband of Rosie for 55 years, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2006 at Crowsnest Pass Hospital at the age of 81 years.Steve was born October 13, 1924 at Passburg and lived and ranched all his life in the Lundbreck area. He served as a director of UFA Co-op, secretary of the Stock Association, was an active member of the Willow Valley Trophy Club and member/director of the Windsor Heritage Drop-In Centre. Steve always had time for a game of cards and a good visit, and was ready at all times to help a neighbor. Fishing, hunting and curling occupied his spare time. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Rosie, his daughter Lillian (Bob) Peake of Lethbridge, and their children Coral-Lea (Warren) Kinniburgh, Rhonda (Quincy) Peake, Theresa (Jeff) Peake, and Robbie (DeVonee) Peake; his son Ronald, and his children Mackenzie, Nicholas, Megan and Mikayla; his son David (Carole) and their children Caitlin and Matthew; his son Andy (Shona) and their children Levi and Logan, and his daughter Gloria (Ken) Pahl and their children Gerome Sekella, Ashley, Dustin and Cheyenne Pahl; granddaughter Connie (Stan) Sorenson (daughter of Linda) as well as Steve’s great-grandchildren Gunner, Colter, Kiera, and Tristan; his sister Katherine of California and brother John (Tena) of Lundbreck, his sister-in-law Jean-Anne Sekella and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Steve Sr. and Pauline, his daughter Linda and infant daughter Mary-Ann, his brothers James and Tom and brother-in-law Lyman McMillan. SOUCY
PERCY JAMES SOUCY, born February 23, 1914, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at the age of 92. Percy was born in St. Leonard, New Brunswick and came out west to Pincher Creek in 1928, as a ranch hand until he enlisted in the Canadian Army RCA in 1942. He saw active duty in France, Holland and Germany. Percy married Agnes E. MacAuliffe (Captain in the WAAF) in 1945. The couple returned to Pincher Creek in 1946 and started a family with Percy working as a heavy equipment operator. In 1950 the family moved to Coquimbo, Chile S.A., where Percy was employed by Bethlehem Steel, returning to Pincher Creek in 1958 working for the Pincher Creek Municipal District until his retirement 1987. Percy and Agnes then relocated to Calgary in 1989. He is survived by his three sons James (Valerie), Norman (Judy) and Dennis (Janet); grandchildren Michelle and John Paul, Michael and Kimberley, Sean and Scott; great-grandchildren L.J., Savana, and Kole. Percy is also survived by his sister Janet Higgs of Peoria, Az., as well as nieces June and Gail. He also has extensive family in New Brunswick and Chile, S.A. Percy was predeceased by his loving wife, Agnes in February, 1990; brother Sylvio and nephew Lynn; sister Katherine Nelson and great grandson Jordie. Percy’s family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Unit 36, Foothills Hospital for the care and sensitivity extended. If friends wish, in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, 1708 - 16 Avenue NW, Calgary on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 3 p.m. Cremation followed. Born November 8, 1964, passed away peacefully March 8, 2006 after a lengthy illness with Lupus. Gladys will be sadly missed by her daughters Ellie and Lacey, husband Perry (Skipper) Warrior, mother Elsie Crowshoe, sisters Shirlee (Floyd), Joann (Emil), Velma (Jerry), Pauline (Lyle), Albertine, Jeanette, brothers Wilfred, George (Fran); along with Eva Bad Eagle, Eddie, Peter (Vivian), Thomas (Joanne) Yellow Horn, her nieces, nephews and God-daughter Calyssa. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Collette Warrior and in-laws Henrietta, Verna, Brenda, Krisla, Everette, Dean Warrior, step-children Junior, Jan, Monica, Rose and Taylor. Aunt Margaret Plain Eagle and Uncle Arthur Crowshoe. Gladys grew up on Piikani Nation and came from a strong traditional Blackfoot family. She received her schooling in Pincher Creek, Alberta and completed a secretarial science course with Lethbridge Community College. Gladys took on many challenging employment opportunities including positions with Piikani Lands Department, Piikani Social Development, Piikani Board of Education under Noella Little Mustache, and Piikani Employment Services under the direction of Audrey Weasel Traveller and Casey Provost. The joy of Gladys’ life were her two daughters Ellie and Lacey. She never hesitated to make sure they received their heart’s desire, yet encouraged and supported them in gaining independence. Gladys shared a special relationship with her girls and was very proud of them. Gladys especially enjoyed family gatherings like picnics, dinners, and birthday parties. One of her favorite sayings was "yaaay, cake!" She enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews and never missed a birthday party. Gladys loved to share jokes and good laughs with family and friends. She will be remembered for kicking up her heels and doing the twist. We will miss her good nature and friendly smile. Gladys had a true zest for life and lived it fully. Her illness did not hinder her love of life. Gladys was predeceased by her father John Yellow Horn, brothers Warren (Sonny), Walter, Albert (Jumbo), Victor, Robert and Sister Ida. The Wake Service was held on Sunday, March 12, 2006 beginning at 2 p.m. at Elsie Crowshoe’s residence. The Funeral Service was held Monday, March 13, 2006 at 1 p.m. at the Piikani Community Hall with Reverend Margaret Water Chief officiating Interment followed at the Brocket Cemetery. Mary Lea Sickoff (nee: Pagnucco), beloved wife of the late Frank William Sickoff, of Bellevue, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2006, at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre in Blairmore, Alberta, at the age of 86 years. Mary was born on June 21, 1919, to Giaccomina and Giovani Pagnucco. As a young woman, Mary met her soul mate Frank and soon married in Bellevue. They were blessed with two children: Lee and Sharon, whom they raised in the Crowsnest Pass. Mary enjoyed being out in her beautiful garden, nurturing her wonderful vegetables and sweet-smelling flowers. During the quiet times, Mary enjoyed reading all types of literature. Left to mourn her loss will be her son Lee (Jocelyne) Siebert of London, Ontario and her daughter Sharon Bonney of Calgary, Alberta; her grandchildren: Robert and Dean Krumes; Carolyne, Valerie, Sara and Eric Siebert; and her great-grandchildren: James and Adam Krumes. Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank (1991); and her parents, Giaccomina and Giovani Pagnucco. A private family service took place at Fantin’s Funeral Chapel in Blairmore on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 11 a.m. A public service will be held at a later date.
