ALLEN, TOM, long time resident of Three Creeks passed away on September 20, 2004 in the Peace River Hospital at the age of 72. Tom was born on January 14, 1932 at Cereal, AB. Tom arrived in the Peace River area in 1987 and worked as Cat Operator. Tom retired in 2002. Tom was predeceased by his son Lloyd (1999). Tom is survived by his wife Doris, and his children Rosalea (Mike) Thomas and Wesley, Caralee (Martin) Cameron and Trent, Louise, Steven and Gray. Funeral Services for the late Tom Allen were held on September 24, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. from Grimshaw Elks Hall with Garth Cooke officiating. Organist, Lynette Newton (niece). Soloist, Jennifer Day (niece). Honorary Pallbearers, Tim Oliver, Ed Dziengielewski, Neville Gordey, Ken Waltz, Bill Ives, and Herman Jensen. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation as expression of sympathy. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Chapel Of Memories.
PARTRIDGE, THOMAS GORDON
Tom passed away suddenly on August 09, 2004. Tom was born in Jasper, AB on August 06, 1954. He will be sadly missed by his sons Richard and Ryan of Peace River, AB, their mother Marjo of Edmonton, AB and Tom’s loving friend Donna of Grimshaw, AB. Tom is survived by three sisters, Kathryn (Glen) Salt of McBride B.C., Patricia (Loren) Trueman of Kamloops B.C., Mary (Gordon) Florness of Airdrie AB and numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his parents Jim and Thelma Partridge. Tom will be lovingly remembered by his friends and family. Leaving the Tete Jaune-Valemount area in 1973, Tom worked as an equipment operator in the road construction throughout B.C. In 1976 he married Marjo Heinen and together they were proud parents of two lively boys. The family moved to Peace River in 1989, where Tom was hired as a labourer for the Peace River School Division. Several years later he became an electrician for the Division. He will be missed by those he worked with. Funeral services were be held August 14, 2004 at the Chapel Of Memories in Peace River AB, followed by cremation. Ovila Marceau, of Girouxville
MARCEAU, OVILA (RED), long time resident of Girouxville passed away on September 19, 2004 in McLennan, AB at the age of 72. Ovila Marceau was born on October 5, 1931 at Girouxville, AB. Ovilas occupation was farming, he retired in 1975. For 14 years prior to retirement Red was working on the Shaftesbury Ferry. Ovila is survived by his wife Irene, 3 stepchildren Diane Talbot, Linda Thorson (Blair), Denis Talbot, 5 grandchildren, Paul, Shannon, Jason, Shane, David, sisters Lea Lantot, Eva Latondress, brother Gerard (Dolores), Marceau, sister in law Aldea Belva. Funeral Services for the late Ovila Marceau were held September 23, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. from the Notre Dame de Lourdes, Girouxville with Reverend Guy Noel officiating. Organist and soloist Ginette Aubin. Urn Bearer: Denis Talbot. Interment followed at the Notre Dame de Lourdes, Girouxville, AB. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Chapel Of Memories.
PALMER, Daniel Wayne
On March 20th, 2016, Daniel Wayne Palmer of Robb, Alberta passed away in Edson, Alberta at the age of 59 years.
Left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory, his children: Justin Palmer of Robb, Alberta and Tasha (Matthew) McCrae and her children Aubrey and Madelyn of Leduc, Alberta.
Also surviving is his mother Mrs. Lucille Palmer of Robb, Alberta, his siblings: Barney (Kathy) Palmer and family of Hay Lakes, Alberta, Lyle (Tammy) Palmer and family of Leduc, Alberta and Colleen (Alex) Milek and family of North Vancouver, British Columbia.
There are numerous other relatives and a host of friends left to mourn.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 26th, 2016, at 2:00 PM at the Robb Community Hall, Robb, Alberta.
In lieu of other tributes, donations to the charity of the donor’s choice in memory of Daniel Wayne Palmer is suggested by the family.
GARSTIN, GEORGE HERBERT BELMORE
George Herbert Belmore Garstin beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away Monday, August 16, 2004 at the age of 93. Born in London, England, January 10, 1911, he leaves to morn, his wife Evelyn (nee Tunke), his children, Ian (Alma) Garstin of Choiceland, Saskatchewan; Donald Glyn (Louise-deceased) Garstin of St. Albert, AB; Candy-Lee Garstin of Edmonton, AB; Rebecca (Bob) Potts, of Calgary, AB and Brent (Moira) Garstin of Courtney, B.C. George was predeceased by his first wife Eluned (nee Lloyd) 1950, and brother Don 1975 of Dundas, Ontario. He also leaves 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. George came to Canada in 1926 at 15 years of age and arrived in Peace River country in 1927. He loved the Peace River area where he established his first homestead and remained farming in the area until the early nineties where upon he and Evelyn retired to Edmonton. He loved the simpler things of life, a devoted family, rewards of hard work, and appreciated the abundance of the land and his adopted country. George died peacefully of natural causes while surrounded by his family. His presence and humor will be sadly missed by all who knew him. The family wishes to thank the staff at Jubilee Lodge, Edmonton, for the care given to George. As to his wishes, cremation has already taken place and a memorial will be held in Edmonton, AB, on September 5/04
BROWN, DOROTHY BETH ARCT
March 8, 1926 - August 17, 2004
Dorothy B. Brown of Peace River, Alberta passed away at the Peace River Community Hospital on August 17, 2004. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles L. and two daughter, Lynn (Ron) Graham of Dawson Creek, B.C., grandchildren, Rebecca (Tim Swejda) of Vancouver, B.C., David (Nicole) of Dawson Creek, and Jonathan of Dawson Creek; Doreen McKenna of Calgary, grandchildren, Tiffany Dunn of Calgary, Leah of Las Vegas, Ashley of Calgary, Chelsey of Waterloo, Ont. Dorothy will be remembered for her great love of music, and her faith in God, Jehovah, her grace, gentle touch and loving nature, and love of life. Memorial Service were held in Peace River Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Saturday, August 21, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Gerry Van Slyke officiating.
