Steve Furtak of Edmonton, Alberta died Wednesday, August 25, 2010 after a long battle with cancer. Born on April 20, 1930 in Oben, Saskatchewan, Steve is survived by his daughter Kelly, her husband Ralph; his son Richard and wife Cathy and his granddaughter Samantha as well as many nieces and nephews. Albert John Tomshak
Albert John Tomshak June 13, 1924 - Aug. 29, 2010 On August 29, 2010, Albert John Tomshak passed away peacefully with family by his side at the QEII Hospital in Grande Prairie, AB. Albert?s fight with cancer was very short but at no time did he give up or lose his positive attitude or his will to keep up his steady pace of life. On June 13, 1924, Albert was born on the Tomshak homestead, north of Clairmont. He was the fifth child of eight children to Joe and Nellie Tomshak. Left to cherish his memories are his five children, Michael (Sharol) Tomshak, Terry (Joyce) Tomshak, Donna (Daryl) Beeston, Tracy (Brian) Rowney and Willa Tomshak (special friend Cal); nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, friend Dorothy Arac and her extended family as well as numerous friends. He also leaves one brother Eddie Tomshak, three sisters, Jenny Croken, Mary Russell and Helen Fitzpatrick. Albert was predeceased by his wife, Joyce of 56 years, parents Joe and Nellie Tomshak, step-mother Agnes, and brothers, Frank, Tony and Joe. In the late 1940s, Albert and his brother brought home some abandoned baby swans and raised them as family pets. They can still be viewed to this day at the Muskoseepi Park Pavilion. When Albert was finished school he helped out on the family farm near Clairmont, at which time he met his loving wife Joyce Anderson whom he married on November 7, 1950. He took over the family farm in 1960 where he continued to live until 2008 when he moved into Grande Prairie, AB. Albert had many hobbies and interests. He loved to travel, golf, curl and garden. He was active in the community in which he lived and served as county counselor for three terms. Prayer service will be held at Oliver?s Funeral Chapel from 7:00-9:00 pm on Wednesday, September 1, 2010. Funeral service will be held Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 1:00 pm at St. Joe?s Catholic Church in Grande Prairie. Interment to follow at the Emerson Trail Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the QEII Hospital Cancer Foundation or a charity of one's choice. Oliver's Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel & Crematorium.
SEMBAL, William (Bill)
On April 5th, 2016, Bill passed away at the age of 89 years.
He will be fondly remembered by his loving wife Muriel of 67 years; his daughter Shirley and son Ronald; as well as his grandchildren, Andrea (Philip) and Cody (Jade); his great-grandchildren Kylie and Jordan; Sisters Elsie and Olga
Bill’s wishes for cremation have taken place.
A memorial of family members from near and far will take place in Bill’s beloved mountains.
The family would like to thank Edson Long Term Care for the care and compassion Bill received.

Reil, Quinn Sarah
Quinn Sarah Reil passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of Sunday, April 3rd, 2016 at the age of 14 months.
Kari and Amos welcomed Quinn to their lives on February 3rd, 2015.
Quinn is a vibrant and bright spirit who brought joy and laughter to all those around her.
This beautiful daughter of our Heavenly Father had a short time on this earth. While the time was short, we all will remember her crooked smile, which would light up the room.
With great sadness, Quinn is survived by her parents Kari Reil and Amos Penney, siblings, sisters; Tatum, Tayaleen, Tiegan, Torrie and brothers Brett and Alexander.
Quinn is also survived by her Grandparents Jane Jenkins and Grandpa Ken Wenzel as well as Grandma JoAnn Reil and Grandpa John Reil. Quinn was and is loved by numerous people. As well as grandmas and grandpas, Quinn had numerous aunts and uncles and other family members who will miss her dearly.
Our family knows that Quinn was greeted with the warm embrace of her Great Grandma and Great Granddad Reil and Nana Jenkins and our Heavenly Father. We are sure that Granddad Reil is sharing all the stories with her of times past.
Quinn is loved and will be missed, until the time we meet again.
Funeral services for Quinn took place on Saturday, April 9th, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Foothills Memorial Chapel, 5040 – 6th Ave., Edson, Alberta.
In lieu of other tributes, donations if desired may be made to the Stollery Children’s Foundation, NICU, 1502 College Plaza, 8215 – 112 Street, Edmonton, Alberta, T6G 2C8 in memory of Quinn Sarah Reil.
Bradley Dean Ross
(August 22, 1986 - June 24, 2012)
Bradley Dean Ross, longtime resident of Grande Prairie, passed away at Boston Bar, B.C. on June 24, 2012 at the age of 25 years.
He will be sadly missed by his mother, Karen Reddekopp; father Maurice; sister, Kyla Johnson; maternal grandmother, Marlene Reddekopp; aunt Lorraine Rinke; longtime friend Daniel Boulos, as well as numerous family and friends.
A graveside service will be held for close family members at the Grande Prairie Cemetery. A gathering for family and friends will be held at the Elk’s Hall on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 1:00 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of one’s choice in memory of Brad.
